  1. Real smart there by Remillard. 2 outs might as well try to get into scoring position
  2. Anderson loafing couldve turned into a DP if Moose let that drop.
  3. Agree so at some point Benintendi's mistake was that he didn't just stop and face the wall to play the carom . He payed the price for actually trying to make the catch too much and got trapped too close to the wall.
  4. Hanging slider up in Sebys eyes . Bomb !
  5. Sox OFers lol SHeets misplayed carom and Benintendi loafs
  6. You leave guys down to get more seasoning and those guys fail often too. Some guys brought up over and over and fail over and over until they actually don't. Everyone is different. High draft picks fail and low picks succeed . So just as its hard to judge talent that will succeed its hard to know when to bring a guy up. Just because Colas was brought up after tearing up the minors the year before doesn't mean it was wrong just because he failed the 1st time. These absolutes you think apply dont. How do we know Colas didnt get his head screwed up by the coaches who worked with him over the summer ? What happened to his power in AAA and why did it happen after working with our coaches ? All these things are mysterious things that professional scouts and talent evaluatorss cant figure out SO what makes you think you have it all figured out ? Saying a 25 yr old was brought up too early and that's why he failed is a copout. Any reason and multiple reasons could be why he failed. Instant success doesn't happen often in baseball and if it does then you might have a sophomore slump when pitchers adjust. Baseball's a hard game. It isnt just how big and fast you are and based on pure athletic ability like other sports. Just one little tweak in your swing or stance /mechanics can unleash potential or send u spiraling down. No one can figure out why some very talented guys never make it and why less talented guys do otherwise making the right call on when someone should be brought up and where they fall in the draft would be easy.
  7. From beyond the Grave ?
  8. Exactly and you could find a lot more than those two who didnt cost much like Altuve I think was dirt cheap , 10K maybe.
  9. I know those guys have to be traded I'm just not looking forward to making the team less then mediocre again with Hahn and company doing the trading and JR still not committed to developing young players. Same s%*# different years. Still have money left over from the international draft. Probably because we'd have too many guys and not enough positions to fill them because Jerry wont support a 2nd DSL team. JR just isn't committed to developing youth in any way whatsoever from an investment standpoint . Its pennies on the dollar creating your own inexpensive good players instead of letting Hahn spend millions on mediocre to bad FA's and trying for another miracle 2005.its just the same vicious inept cycle over and over.
  10. Thats what I was talking about. Pitch sequencing. If they swing at crap the sequences are going to be crap until you prove you wont swing at crap.
  11. Must be nice to have a crystal ball
  12. Just should have kept throwing FB's lefty on lefty in out up
  13. If they got the extra year back on Colas I think he should get another shot now. Hurting for LH bats again + the recent power surge.
  14. If Jerry still thinsks he can get some playoff revenue, you might not see as many guys traded as you might think. Massive fail is right up the Sox alley.
  15. Yea problem is most of anything you get won't be of immediate help and anything you trade is likely from the 26 so if you trade you are likely getting worse and out of the division race. Pitching right now is the only thing keeping them playing .500 the past 2 months. Take that away and they go from treading water to sinking fast .
  16. I thought that was Ken Berry going over the CF fence ass 1st
  17. Burger way behind Robert in experience facing professional pitching. Just add up all their plate appearances in minors and majors.
  18. Well he did say overall which covers defense and speed and baserunner. All Thomas could do was hit and walk . But he did those things extremely well. Dick Allen could sure hit too and good baserunner , but not close to a good defender.
  19. So much for that tweet about being 4-20 in the last game of series or w/e it was so expecting a loss. Stats can be twisted any way you want. Sox were nearly .500 at home could've meant they had a near 50/50 chance of winning. Earl Weaver quote: Momentum is only as good as tomorrow's starting pitcher. Or since that's so old we can change it too tomorrows pitchers !
  20. Red Sox, who arent a big K team, struck out 38 times against Sox pitching.
  21. Benintendi last 8 games leading off 15/35 1.016 OPS
  22. Yea I hear a lot about pitch recognition. But most of the time it's recognizing pitch sequencing, knowing what the pitcher throws and when he's likely to throw it. You have all the info you need. Rogers Hornsby didn't have all that info. Professional hitter not flailers. You also have to know how they are going to pitch you. SO you can tell yourself ok here comes a high FB lay off it or here comes the breaking ball outside take it. They hang it you bang it.
