As far as you OBP goes they are as good as hits . But we know hits are better for numerous reasons.

Richie "Dick" Allen was one of the few superstars the Sox had and although it was only for 3 years those 3 years were the best 3 consecutive years of his carer in his age 30-32 seasons. His career OBP, Slugging, OPS and OPS+ are outstanding. Frank Thomas has the exact same career OPS+ as Allen does, 156. The videos were great . I especially enjoyed the 1st one listening to Allen and Tanner speak. I highly recommend watching them for you younger ones who weren't around for those days. Those red pinstriped uniforms became very popular for a while when Allen was on the Sox.

Yup me neither, but I allow myself time to enjoy a nice win and save thinking about that until they actually start losing in that stretch of upcoming games.

TA made my head explode swinging at that 3-1 pitch. I was like dude why swing, take strike 2 if you have to. Allow the chance for a wild pitch and walk. You know even if you hit it there's a good chance you're grounding into a DP. I swear why this stuff doesn't go through a players head stumps me. Even if you are supremely confident in your abilities you should be aware your low your launch angle is and the last thing you want to do is hit into a DP on one of those low curve ball you know you are going to get. Situational awareness was nil.
