  1. And how long has it been since the Sox needed more LH position players? Then throw in when MLB started talking about banning the shift and the Players Assoc. showed they were in favor of it back in early March 2022 , that should've put an extra bee in Hahn's bonnet about acquiring more LHH . Who was in favor of adding LHH at the Trade deadline ? ME . Like all the time making posts about it. Hahn did nothing when he had time before the season started to get more LHH but instead he gets RHH , aging AJ Pollock when the Dodgers are loaded with LHH youth in the minors. And people still defend that trade. And then doubled down on doing nothing about it at the AS break this year. The rules changes are NEVER brought up to condemn Hahn but it should be added to the list.
  2. Bless you for you unbridled passion for even trying to figure out how the off season unfolds. As fans we have to expect the worst and think that the window is closed no matter how bad the division is. It's been apparent since the 2021 AS game. I know many key players especially Eloy and Robert have barely played and Robert's ability to fly in the OF and on the bases may have been affected forever by his injury in 2021. Didn't his sprint speed take hit this season ? The Sox are stuck between a rock and a hard place. They might as well bring Colas up to start the season. I see no reason to think this team will be competing in 2028 so why worry about service time with him ? I wanted him up this season not only to get some time facing MLB pitching but also to get used to the OF at G Rate. Those things matter instead of a rookie doing it on the fly in May and watching him go through growing pains in the OF and hitting. Doing it this year might've given him an edge going into next year and why punt the beginning of the year doing the same thing again ? All wins matter and he can help win games a lot of different ways. It would've been easier to evaluate him this year if he was brought up to be available for the playoffs this year.
  3. Nah sometimes things need explaining in depth especially when the ineptitude runs so deep. You could've brought up way more about how Int'l signings are or were handled like trading away your Int'l money or not investing in16 yr olds or trading Tatis Jr. because they didn't realize what they had and didn't value middle of the field players like SD and other teams had started doing. And that's just one area. Look how well Houston did with their draft choices and Int'l signees especially recently with their starting pitching. They kept working on the minor leagues while the Sox neglected it badly. Houston signed Altuve for $15,000 after turning him away a couple of times because of his size . The Story goes the scout saw how persistent and dedicated he was. His parents wanted more money but Altuve said, when he was 16 mind you , "No all I need is a chance."
  4. Right ? It's called personal pride. You dig deep and realize if you quit how does that affect the rest of your career. That being said it's easy to say they quit because they played poorly when the chips were on the table. But really it's not any different than its been since last years AS break. Pretty much the same potentially good players got hurt for a long time just as they did last year. They are who they have been for almost 1.5 season now. On top of that the FO made them much worse . All the guys they were counting on for a "window" had career years before most thought the window was starting except for Cease and Vaughn. Yet I still keep hearing how talented they are. They aren't. Sheets slays at home but can't play the OF or hit on the road. Mocada is a very good fielder but hasn't really hit since 2019. Vaughn can hit but he's been playing a position he can't play. Giolito lost his stuff. Grandal got old fast along with the injuries. The whole team got even older faster than Grandal. People on here were saying Kopech replaces Rodon. Sounded like FO talk to me . Take one of the best in baseball and replace him with a guy starting for the 1st time in MLB. Sound thinking. Don't get a draft choice for Rodon, trust the FO judgement, he'll get hurt again. How did that work out ? Hang on to Kimbrel he'll be easy to trade . Uh huh. Dealing with the Dodgers with all their talent in the minors and Hahn got Pollock ? Looked good on paper, a 3 WAR OF, but damn Hahn supplement the team and get some LH youth once in a while instead of aging expensive veterans with an extra year. You've made getting swindled an art form.
  5. That Tiger player on 3rd ran waaaay inside the line toward field trying to get in the way of the throw home by Moncada. Seemed way out of the baseline. Luckily Moncada got it around him.
  6. If JR would just let Marco Paddy do his job, he's one guy with a really good reputation but they concentrate on older guys like Colas and Cespedes because to sign a 16 yr old you might have to have an eye on them when the are 14 and 15 and there's little doubt JR doesn't want any part of that and the Sox have suffered because of it.
  7. Doubt that even matters all that much in baseball. 16th pick ,14th pick whatever. I'm sure there will be successes after the Sox pick and busts before it. A quick look at some of the AL guys in the All Star game this year , Judge was the 32nd pick in the 1st round, Trout was 25th pick in 1st round, Corey Seager 18th pick 1st round. Ty France 34th round, Jose Trevino 6th round, Santiago Espinal 10th round. TA was 17th pick ,1st round and many many players were Int'l signees. How many Int'l draft picks have the Sox signed that might possibly make an AS Team Robert, Abreu, but none of those guys were 16 yrs old when signed like Guerrero, Devers and Altuve who the Astros had turned away from their Venezuelan Academy twice before they signed him for $15,000. I bring up the 16 yr. olds because this is an area Reinsdorf has stuck his control into also. They don't want to sign 16 year olds plus JR liked to trade his Int'l draft money away on probably around 5 different occasions. They did sign Tatis, Jr. at 16 but traded him when he was 17 before he even played a game for them. JR was probably pissed they gave him $700K .
  8. Only 4 game sample size but after 2 HR's and a double today Colas' line is .389, .421, .778, 1.199
  9. Looks like Colas hit 2 HR's and a double . 3/5 now . If my calculation are correct his line is .389, .421, .778, 1.199 in the 4 game sample size.
  10. It's fine . Real strong arm and he played CF a lot in A+.
  11. They get to 5 games above .500 and just like before cratered after. They'll be lucky to finish above the rest of the year.
  12. One thing about POllock , I'm guessing a decent percentage of his total hits are extra base hits.
  13. LOL I wasn't saying Tim is going to be traded just that it was a possibility. No one is untouchable . When I was asked who would play SS the correct answer should've been how the heck would I know , but I gave him an example.
  14. It was just a random comment if they decide not to play him the rest of the season and trade him. I'm sure they could find someone to play SS. Lenyn Sosa. We have no idea who's staying or going.
  15. Drew Hutchison RHP vs. Davis Martin RHP We all know this mess of a season is over. Cairo will pretend it isn't and more than likely fill the lineup card with guys who won't be here next year. Maybe we never see Tim Anderson again play for the Sox. Too much stuff that makes us sad, angry, disappointed, disgusted and most of all just plain confused. So when we feel that way it's time for 39 minutes of stupid things that happen to players, fans , umps, mascots, camera men, reporters, ball boys and girls to make you laugh.
  16. Sosa 3/5 , 9th HR . Now hitting .291 with .810 OPS. Was the middle man on 3 DP's turned playing SS.
  17. OK so basically not trying to learn anything. No one forces pitchers to go 9 innings when they either lose what they started with or tire after a certain amount of pitches. Still sounds punitive, vindictive and spiteful.
  18. I'd try to get Yoan to use a leg kick and stride. Get his body moving in motion generate some pop. He rarely moves his feet.He can't keep doing what he's doing. He's so still until he swings and makes no effort to reach or adjust if he's fooled.
