  1. For a AAA guy Yolbert Sanchez hasn't got as long a look as one might think but he's showing he's a contact guy and that says don't you forget about me when he's got a sac fly and an RBI single.
  2. That was my other thought , that Colas fell down somehow running the bases.
  3. Its either him Leury, Marisnick, Romy, Hamilton (Sheets not a 4th OF Type) Inf. and utility it's Alberto, Romy, Leury, Sheets, Burger ? Just to be open minded about it. So Leury and Romy with increase their chances just by playing inf and outfield.
  4. Edit. Maybe it was one of those where the runner had to hold up on a shallow fly thinking it would be caught. A real double scores a runner easily from 2nd base.
  5. Bryce Willits who got 11 AB last year in Rookie ball singled and stole 2nd vs Tx. Stranded at 2nd.
  6. Seby double (scored a double?) but Colas out at home. Probably should be scored a single even without seeing it .
  7. Colas single and a double against Eovaldi
  8. I guess I just don't understand the need to immediately get up from something that hurts and possibly do more damage. This rub some dirt on it, get up walk it off macho BS should 've stopped happening a long time ago . Is sports the last bastion of male judgemental bullying of the supposed weak garbage ? We have no right to call anyone soft based on our observations of body language. It's just a biased judgement based on no inside information. We don't share pain receptors or brain function. Concussions used to mean nothing. How is that looking now ? You got your bell rung . You'll be ok .
  9. He could ask for his release and probably get it. He might get more money in Japan or get a ML contract with someone. $700,00 guaranteed has to look real good when you're about to turn 27 and its possibly his best chance after the spring he's had. Who makes it over him that the Sox have a risk of losing or does Leury make it based on his paycheck ? Can Romy perform the rest of the spring to earn a job when the regulars are back after the WBC ? The season just around the corner maybe Yoan and Eloy sit a bunch because of their recent boo boos
  10. Great hustle by Trout !
  11. Here we go ! I hope the Japanese manager's strategy of changing starting pitcher to Imanaga backfires.
  12. The more lefties the better. The Sox weakness for 2 years has been inability to hit RHP.
  13. Electrolytes and water Eloy. No coffee, no caffeine pills. no caffeine, no diuretics of any kind.
  14. I don't understand the proof that he's soft comment. Unless you feel what he feels how can there be proof ? Certainly not proof that would hold up in a court of Law. Class action suit: White Sox Iron-Men fans vs. Yoan "House of Pain" Moncada.
  15. Probably not but between the defense and the decent pop he's been showing he looks great. Haseley too. Is he good enough defensively to play CF ?
  16. Damn what did Alberto do this winter ?
  17. Mercy rule approaching
  18. Harold Reynolds was raving about Anderson's 2nd base play before the game. Said he could be up there with ALtuve among the best 2nd basemen in baseball if he switched and wants to see him switch.
  19. DO you think he'll start in A or A+ ? A+ seems aggressive for a guy from the DSL but he's 21. But he looked really good in the DSL.
  20. He was the Sox best DSL player last year. .344 .448 .636 1.084 That's a great slash line even if he was 20 and the most of the DSL is younger. 154 AB, 7 2b, 7 3b, 8 HR 29 BB 22 K From The Sox 2023 Prospects page where he is ranked 28th. "Built like a slightly taller Jose Altuve, Chapelli's clean left-handed swing and disciplined approach produce a lot of hard contact. In two seasons as a teenager in Cuba's Serie Nacional, he batted .304/.419/.438, a stat line that doesn't do justice to his power potential. With his hitting ability, bat speed and sneaky strength, he could hit 15 or more homers on an annual basis. After playing the outfield corners in Cuba, Chapelli switched to second base in the DSL. His solid speed, quick hands and decent arm give him a chance to become an average defender at second. He'll be 21 this season and could make the jump to High-A to show what he can do against more age-appropriate competition." He'll be a great follow this year in A ball. People said the same thing about Altuve when no one wanted to sign him. I think Altuve was one of those 15K signees. They knew he had a quick bat, was a leader and good instincts but he was 5' 5" at 16 years old . Hasn't grown much since then.
  21. Best Spring Training among Sox players with 20+ AB's by OPS. Hanser Alberto 1.190 Erick Gonzalez 1.089 (he's been hot lately) Elvis Andrus 1.073 Adam Haseley .979 Grandal .939 Vaughn .880 With just under 20 AB (18/19) it's Eloy 1.106 , Zavala 1.084 , Ramos .955
  22. Since a RHP will be on the mound roughly 70% of the time and if we assume Anderson will always be the lead off hitter then its important to go RLRL even RLLR in the order. Now you can always start it LRLR which is better against RHP especially if Moncada leads off because of his OBP, then ideally Tim singles him to 2nd or 3rd .Then you have a lefty to bat 3rd against the RHP .Maybe that's Grandal but he may hit into a lot of DP's unless you steal or hit and run with Anderson . Or you can just put Eloy 3rd and go with Grandal 4th but still that DP looms. With Grandal and Vaughn DP's are always a factor. A lot of different ways to play it against a RHP. Moncada ,Benintendi ( 2 LHB so if Moncada gets on you want Benintendi to hit behind the runner (pull it). If you go LRL its Moncada, Anderson Benintendi ? But probably rather see Eloy 3rd if you need a HR late in the game or in the 1st for that matter. The problem becomes as @VAfan pointed out that we have no idea how any of these guys are going to hit or the amount of HR's. We can take our best guesses based of numerous factors. We have a bunch of guys capable of 10- 20 HRs and maybe 4 -6 with 20+ HR potential, Eloy,Vaughn, Robert, Grandal and maybe Moncada &Colas. The trouble is Colas is a Rookie. Moncada hit 25 in the bouncy ball year but will he ever do it again ? Vaughn and Robert haven't done it before, Grandal has done it 5 times but at this point of his career can he do it again ? Eloy hit 31 once and we always hear predictions that one day he'll hit 40 but hasn't been above 16 since because of injuries. Grifol will have to figure things out fast. He should have a lot of tools at his disposal with all the different splits and data to analyze things . But a new season and early health hopefully makes last years bad data obsolete. A fast start in the 1st 25 games would mean decent pitching along with better than last year hitting. Go Sox !!
