The thing I like about Murphy is he'll be ready to pitch 150 innings next year. He really dominated at Birmingham but Birmingham for pitchers is like Charlotte for hitters. As a pitcher if your numbers are even just decent at Charlotte you're ready for MLB. Not bad for a 14th round pick from pretty close to the Glendale, Az. Facility.

Hard not to rise from rock botton Greg. Was easy to see the rise coming just by some of the youngs guys from trades arriving. It could end up being a 20 game improvement from last year. Now it'll get harder there wont be a 20 game leap forward from this years win total. Im not saying it'll be impossible but it ' ll mostly have to be interally driven. Highly doubtful they get any highly impactful veteran player from elsewhere.

There's a point where if you're not commanding pitches or your FB is too straight bu high velocity you can miss barrels and still give up quality hits but he's got plenty of time to work on his command and fix things. He still hasnt thrown many innings since he started college. This year is the most innings he ever pitched and it just around 57 now . Still got a long way to go if anyones expecting him to be a starter.

I guess I just don't understand why you'd think he couldnt. He's young strong and a good hitter . Especially good for a young catcher . I might have more faith in him becoming a multiple year All Star player than anyone on the team. It's been a great development year for him.
