  1. Hill probably hurting from the pickoff attempt that smacked him in the ribs. Plus I don't think Vargas is batting 3rd, might be 2nd now. Right after I said injury luck has to get better for the Sox to continue trending up our biggest weapon goes down and a decent hitter against RHP and key defender goes down . EDIT: Also Leasure now on 60 day injured list. This game will be tough with guys like Nishida and Acuna in against Valdez. I have a feeling this is a game that Antonacci gets a HBP . Just make sure it's not in the head against Valdez. Also need Kay to continue his run of pitching dominance to keep it close. On that note Detroit sucks and Let's Fucking Go !!
  2. Understandable but a lot of players have big differences in home and away splits just as Meidroth and Vargas have big difference in their RHP/LHP splits. You could say that their much less AB's against LHP are propping up their overall stats and hiding their numbers against RHP. It's also why we see Meidroth and Antonnaci both batting leadoff. It's those splits. With Gonzalez ,others here, more knowledgeable than I about finding AAA statcast info point to remarkable changes in his batted ball profile. Of course that doesn't guarantee success in MLB (Kelenic) but it's probably a better way of looking at it than his H/A splits.
  3. Basically it comes down to this. There's a certain segment of Soxtalk that supported the 1st rebuild with all their heart but refuse to treat the previous 3 years as a rebuild . They treat it as just a lousy normal record. Then there are others who while not as adamant as THOSE people who have their loyalties to the wolfpack of condemnation of 3 years that held the upper hand. I have no idea why they could support the 1st rebuild but not the 2nd one. Is it just Getz being in charge of it or does it go deeper into their heart and soul and trust being being betrayed and now they are fragile. You see a lot of talk about you can still criticize and we are gatekeeping but it goes way beyond being critical. Hell I'll criticize JR till my typing fingers are bleeding and because of that I feel the chances of resigning Mune are not good and that would be a huge blow to the organization. And if you focus on just the record and don't view it as a rebuild then you're viewing it wrongly. It's that simple. Now THOSE people can ignore or say that the foundation Getz has built cannot be judged yet and its incomplete. However, the way the rebuild has advanced points to a lot of positives in that foundation. Look at how a lot of the Orioles top prospects have sputtered and compare it to how the Sox top prospects are coming up and actually doing well. Look at how Vargas has improved and Davis Martin. Look at how some of their 5th round draft picks have developed and how Colson went from bust to beautiful. Look at how Jacob Gonzalez has completely changed and bought into the Sox hitting philosophy. If you look at it in the context of a rebuild ( which is what it actually is) things are going great, but if you don't ,were just mediocre. We're not gatekeeping their fandom it's more about your perspective. The Hahn rebuild was a rebuild but this isn't a rebuild ? I don't care what JR said about a quick turnaround or Getz refusing to call it a rebuild early in his tenure just to appease Jerry's view. And if you actually believed that boatload of crap, well, no wonder your China doll panties are in a twist.
  4. If you watch him he's always kind of twitchy wiggling around his shoulders. I'm as tall as he is and was fairly athletic but I had a bad back so I was always twitchy like that too already trying to keep it loose.
  5. I thought he tweaked something in his back.Stone noticed a grimace and he reached for his back. But after the game he's lifting the big Gatorade bucket to dump on Vargas which isn't going to help a sore back. So maybe it was nothing .
  6. At one point tonight Gonzo was 8 for 8 with 4 HRs in his last 3 games.
  7. Yes it's his ignore list.
  8. I just think Gonzalez plays 1st base. He's done it before.
  9. Passan said he's coming up.
  10. Unofficially. Kind of figured even if it's a mild hammy strain they will treat him with kid gloves.
