Depends on the bullpen. Was hoping Burke would get early in the count DP. So I don't think he'll end up pitching more than 5 innings in that heat. Bullpen will need to keep us in the lead if Burke doesn't give it up and the Sox don't score more. Though they should get at least 1 or 2 this inning. -

I think he could play LF every day . Settle him in there and maybe his bat will follow. -

I've been saying that just based on the frequency he's been hitting bombs in Charlotte despite going up and down like a yo-yo and little time on the IL. Of course I'm always a bit bullish on prospects. Just thought it was a little too early to pigeon-hole him as a super utility when they need OFs. -

Sox trade Andrew Vaughn to acquire Aaron Civale
CaliSoxFanViaSWside replied to WestEddy's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Vaughn was always capable of getting hot . Pretty sure I posted his hottest months of his career right when the Brewers called him up.Wake me up when he has a career year. I have more hope of Baldwin becoming a 25-30 HR guy than Vaughn . -
Always appreciate your contributions. Hasn't Thorpe used up his rookie eligibility ? Pretty sure he has

Sweep? 7/20 Sox at Pirates 12:35 CDT

Right but is .350 the high point once you get past the 1st 10 games of the season ? -

Might be the Sox highpoint of the season so far in winning percentage. Just guessing based on how far above .333 they are after the sweep. -

It's just easier to say this is what the Sox do as if they don't care . You do your best to educate the ignorant but they have their own bitter , unsubstantiated beliefs. If it was a problem and players thought they were medically mistreated wouldn't we be seeing multiple lawsuits ? I'm sure the whole medical community is acutely aware of the high probability that athletes could sue but rarely do. A-Rod sued the Yankees doctors and a hospital in the most talked about case but that was over 10 years ago. Frank Thomas sued some White Sox Doctors in 2006 and he ended up settling out of court but the 2 Doctors initially sued were dismissed from the case and the settlement was with an outside medical group contracted by the Sox. In 2019 Bobby Jenks settled for $5.1M after suing a MAssachusetts hospital and doctor after having complications after spinal decompression surgery from a Doctor who was performing concurrent surgeries. This was when he was pitching with the Red Sox.

The Future of the White Sox TV Broadcast Team

You might see things completely different from me. I've been here a long long time and I know I'm not alone in thinking what I said. But not liking Schriffen is in line with the majority . Announcers don't bother me at all. Seems like a nice guy , upbeat and personable. Nothing he does makes me cringe. Why should it ? He's not embarrassing me. It's just extreme homerism . I'm probably an extreme homer too when it comes to the on field product even when it stinks. I do my best not to be critical of the prospects because they are young men pursuing their dreams like all of us once were at one point, so I root for them to achieve it. I could point of their flaws but there's plenty who do that so instead I root for Baldwin and Elko and hope and dream they become more than most diehards project them to be. I want Teel and Quero to both be playing as much as possible. I so badly wanted Robert to show how good he was so it would help the rebuild more like the unexpected rise of Crochet did. I'm ecstatic that Houser, Shane Smith and Vasil came out of nowhere to give the Sox another trade chip and more pitching depth in a year that Hagen Smith, Schultz , and Grant Taylor hit some development bumps in the road. Jerry I criticize all day but don't have it in me right now to be ultra critical of Getz just because there not much more I can say than he's just a Jerry puppet figuring things out as he goes , given no money to work with , who realizes his own limitations but really leaned into hiring people with good reputations or considering a rising star like Venable and seems to be using whatever money he is getting into building a Research and Development based infrastructure that he hopes serves the team into the next ownership whether or not he's a part of it. I don't think he's as cocky as Hahn but he does his best to pump up the changes taking place and It appears Schriffen is a key cog in that machine. With the amount of skepticism in the organization Schiff is the public face of the Sox spinning BS to pissed off fans who respond STFU I'm sick of this bullshit. You made promises and I believed you, you bastards ! I also think Stone knows what going on and he doesn't let the losing get to him. He's a professional. He's 78 with a cushy gig with a lot of vacation time and being 78 traveling so much you need more vacation time . If he hated Schiffren why would he sign a new contract at the end of the worst Sox season in history partnered with a cheerleading inexperienced PBP guy ? -

It's a bit of a boys club around here. A lot like high school. If your opinions are in line with the majority there are no free speech issues. But if you buck the system there's still free speech but be prepared to take some heat or even be ridiculed especially if your knowledge level is below average or show any particular patterns in your writing style . Of course many opinions are based on ignorance , passion and over reaction in any sports forum. But that doesn't really excuse crimes of passion. Some would call it bullying, or browbeating or wolfpack hectoring. I think there are plenty of people here who are intimidated not to go too much against the flow and some who get driven away or fed up . No one is really told to cool it especially if your voice matches the forums moderators. -
Baldwin up, Shane Smith IL, Wikelman Up, WillRob down
CaliSoxFanViaSWside replied to WestEddy's topic in Pale Hose Talk
You try not to get too excited about the numbers Baldwin keeps putting up at Charlotte with ease but he seems to be a sliver away from figuring it out at the big league level. Of course that can be elusive . He keeps doing everything they ask like sac bunt as if they keep trying to tell him he's not a HR hitter and do the little things to help the team when asked. You're about to get your opportunity so just relax. -
Two in a row? Sox at Pirates 7/19 5:40 CDT

No big deal 3 earned runs in 4.1 innings. No one could have expected a better run than he's had. It's been phenomenal actually. People are talking like that kind of run happens all the time but it's quite rare for even the best starting pitchers to go on a 10 game run with a 1.89 ERA. Even more rare for a guy to come out of nowhere to do it. Today may have been his worst start but the stuff was decent. May have been overthrowing it trying to get a few more Ks . His FB seemed like it was higher than usual at 96 a few times. -

Robert sitting at 98 career HR and 93 career stolen bases. Hope he gets to 100 HRs before being traded. Would be a nice little milestone. -

1st time since last Sept that the Sox had back to back double digits hit games. 4 years since double digit runs games back 2 back ,2021.
