  1. Take your pick. Any team you want that fits the M.O. But it still won't work without Ishbia's money. It can only take you so far unless you develop 3 superstar hitters and 2 aces.
  2. What name calling? It was a diagnosis . You've often told many posters that their feeling are hurt so if you can psycho-analyze without credentials so can I.
  3. Do you honestly not know why we are compsring ourselves to Tampa ? Really ? You think JR is putting any money in this team before he moves on to the Big Tax Shelter in the Sky ? Seems to me Getz is trying to copy Tampa Bay's approach since he knows he's not getting any money but the bare minimum or at least build a better foundation for when Ishbia takes over since being a big market team without the competitive balance benefits seems like folly.
  4. You are totally delusional and paranoid. You think your arguments shouldnt be opposed and youre beyond reproach that you have to accuse me of stalking you and delete posts because you have a position of authority here ? You do nothing but spread false accusations and lie about the organization. You never talk baseball unless you think spreading lies about Bannister or Fuller is baseball talk. If you were a podcaster talking unsubstantiated crap you made up in your head out of the blue you'd be laughed off Youtube if that can actually happen. No single source that reports on the Sox with podcasts makes up stuff. Sox Machine, Locked on White Sox, Future Sox various podcasts, The 108, Sox in the Basement, CHGO, all give Getz a fair shake because they understand the circumstances he's working under. I dont ever see you posting links to podcast topics that say anything positive about the Sox. Talking baseball is talking about who these new coaches are, their backgrounds why they were hired. It is not repeating over and over OMG another guy from KC or saying same old Sox . That's what being stuck in the past is. Everything they do is just the same old Sox making the same old mistakes. That's you ,Sox Schizophrenic urging us all to drink the KoolAid of Doom. The Sox and me are out to get you 🤣.
  5. Get over yourself. I've barely posted since tbe offseason started. You go out of your way to make ridiculous unsupported claims about new hires and bad mouth the organization. This is not some grudge I hold against you . This is your grudge against the organization because you put your trust in JR and he let you down. You were the most gung ho for the rebuild claiming at 1 point that the Sox could rebuild and win it all without anything but draft picks. Even when West Eddy says something like saying Colson's floor is Dejong you oppose him by saying his floor is an injured bum . I'm guessing you already know that when talent evaluators talk about floors and ceilings those terms apply to a range of outcomes for an uninjured MLB player. Of course anyone can be injured and have it ruin their career. You argue just to argue even when he makes a fairly benign point. I feel your pain brother. Im sorry JR has broken your heart and your spirit because you put your trust in him and even believing him after it all turned to s%*# and he said Getz was hired to turn things around quickly. So gullible . I didnt think you were born yesterday but apparently you were and now you spend your days trying to get all Sox fans to hang on to the past and not look forward to a new beginning. You'll be back in the fild someday. If not you wouldnt be here thinking youre on some mission to open eyes by spreading falsehoods and conjuring up negative speculation about Sox coaches creating all the Tommy John injuries or why coaching hires got fired from previous jobs as if the Sox are the only team that hires fired coaches. No brother you go out of your way to stir the masses. You're the Mike North now of Soxtalk.
  6. I'm not sure either which is why I said unlikely to sutvive a change in ownership. If Jerry survives longer than 2029 I'm not sure what happens. Is the plan to sell regardless in 2029 even if JR is still alive ? If he passes before 2029 will the sons sell as soon as they can complete the sale asap or wait till 2029 when the stadium lease deal expires ?
  7. Calling Getz a Yes man is what got him hired is a gross over simplification unless you can give me examples for things Jerry did the Getz was in favor of. Getz' sin was being a part of an unsuccessful organization and surviving the initial purge and then continuing the purge while fans said he was guilty by association because he couldnt Save Our Sox all by himself. Yes he was an in house and likely cheap hire. But if you speak up to the owner and likely say that KW and Hahn made insular decisions and left you out of decision making processes and that in their position that you would have a more collaborative and communicative process for decision making does that make you a Yes Man or just a guy who rather have seen things done differently ? Under JR' current ownership philosophy of staying out of debt so his sons can sell after his death without incurring large taxes Getz is dealing with a Reinsdorf no other GM of the Sox has ever dealt with before. So yes its a sad state of affairs and a slow climb from the abyss and could stall because prospects will fail and looking for hidden gems among other teams failed prospects and from Rule 5 picks is unlikely to be a winning strategy no matter who you hire as coaches. I just want to see some upwards movement towards .500 before the Ishbia's take over . But without some money you need a lot of draft picks to succeed and even Tampa Bay despite years of doing about as well as they could without much money never won a World Series. I think currently Getz is getting less than Tampa Bay because they get no competitive balance help from the league. It's a no win situation but its not an I give up situation either. Getz and his crew are unlikely to survive when new ownership arrives even if he gets the Sox above .500 at some point. As I said he's in a no win situation. So it's hard for me to scapegoat him . Everything he's doing is on a small scale while the rest of the GMs try to fleece him knowing the Sox are no threat unless they give him prospects who succeed.
  8. As a fan that's all Im implying you do. Look at the resume and try to understand why they were hired. Getz isnt trying to destroy the Sox. He saw good things going on with the Royals pitching staff and the Marlins hitters by some young coaches . They interviewed them, apparently thought they fit into their own collaborate and communicate ideas for a modernized front office and unified advanced coaching. When people blindly knock something for stupid reasons like where he came from that's meatball fandom . Understanding what Getz is trying to accomplish doesnt necessarily mean you like the hire . It also doesnt mean I cry about it either without cause. I can't stop fans from flaunting their ignorance. It's fun to point out though.
  9. How long are you supposed to act like a broken hearted kicked puppy ? I'm just trying to represent a fair shake for what they are trying to accomplish while Jerry is estate planning and has little to no interest in spending anything. I could just as easily say your side is a doomsday cult. There are always different KoolAids to gulp . One is for living and one is for dying . I'd rather not be a part of the Sox Jonestown. The term drinking the KoolAid actually became part of our lexicon to mean blind allegiance to a doomed cause after the Jonestown Incident . Odd to think it applies to having hope or belief that things could be getting better even without much financing or help from ownership. Pity Party On Garths !
  10. its nice to see possible reasons why they would hire someone who could be classfied as an "up and comer" rather than silly emotional tripe about infatuation with the Royals or cheapness. They're doing what they have to do to ID coaches who fit modern , hardworking, problem solving, individualized approaches . This is not one size fits all coaching. It's specialization. Yes we all know its easiest to become hateful and fatalistic whenever they make moves but this place is just a parody of meatballism now. Openmindedness has all but vanished.
  11. Except you made your "prediction" in July or August can't remember which. Most people in that poll made their predictions in March. You had the advantage of watching prospects developing when people in March could only hope for a few to do well and had no idea Shane Smith or Vasil would have decent rookie years.
  12. 2nd lowest revenue and only 6 teams are over $250M payroll. According to your math what does it say about the rest of baseball ?
  13. I dont think you're misreading things at all. There's no JR money involved in this and no JR jurisdiction.
  14. Where are all those great rising players today ? Funny how 1 manager has so much power to turn those risers to rust. Face it the players were not who you thought they were. There is 1 true fall guy for the fall of the franchise and your arrow keep missing the mark.
  15. Or $160M worth of computers. At least Naylor is 1 player. Very few stuck to your ask, 1 player that's your pick for $160M. So many afraid of being wrong they pick invisible things .
  16. Yea not everything is as we wish it to be. But sometimes between naps and synapses failing grandfathers can come up with the odd pearls . Years of devoting your life to baseball means something to people in the game. Mistakes at the end dont invalidates everything else you have to offer . Even Ozzie Guillen is a dinosaur who laughs at all the computer stuff in the game now .
  17. The very definition of baseball and being a rookie. You can't get 3 hits every 10 ABs and 10 HRs every 110 AB. Sometime you'll get more, sometime less. Most hit better at home . All hit better without nagging injuries. Sometimes you get a bunch of fat pitches and sometimes you always seem to fall behind in counts or get ahead. Sometimes you get more walks, more hits more HRs . Sometimes you K more, walk less and you hit line drives that get caught. The fan and player both have to stay even keeled , let things play out, get decent sample sizes, be mindful of injuries.
  18. The next time I see you do any analysis will be the 1st. It's always the short term . To successful people 4 years is nothing. The ground is being lain for the future of the franchise. JR is entirely to blame. Give me your list of what Getz has sucked at since he became GM. Is the team not supposed to suck when the franchise bottomed out ? Could he have prevented the record breaking season. Probably but 121 or 110 losses hardly makes a difference except in how loud the fans cry. Has Getz yet traded away a Tatis, Jr or Marcus Semien right before the last rebuild started ? Getz hasnt even been given enough rope to screw things up. He's not being given any money . So all he can do is make some trades , make some good hires and build the infrastructure. Im not on an island here with my views. It's pretty common among people who do independent Sox podcasts that there are good things happening .I am a very well informed fan about things happening. Now of course I'm listening to Gene Watson and Paul Janish and others who only have belief that they are on the right track being interviewed by Chuck Garfien and others on CHSN. But there are examples all over the field of good things going on. To successful people you need a plan if you start at the bottom and aren't getting any money. Watson talked about how Getz came to him and asked him what he thought of Crochet being a starting pitcher . Have you ever even considered that Getz and the people he hired had anything to do with Crochet becoming a Starter, their plan to get him to the top of his game, keep him healthy and then to ultimately make a quality trade ? That was something no fan could've ever predicted happening . How about how the Sox hiree like Fuller and the R&D department not only got Colson refocused on his process and confidence and then as a finishing touch shortly after he was promoted recommended the torpedo bat. What about the huge success in the Rule 5 draft with Shane Smith and Vasil ? Isn't that another example of better scouting and development ? Didn't Vargas and Sosa becoming league average players when they both vouldve continued on their failure projectories mean things are working ? How about putting the rest of the rookies in a nurturing yet accountable and supportive environment to enable them to be productive ? Was that not a good thing happening as an organization? What about Birmingham's 2 straight AA championships ? Is that not a tangible thing that shows they can develop winning players and attitudes ? It's so easy to be cynical when youre surrounded by it. But as executives, and coaches you all want to be pulling on the same rope as far as developing a winning mindset.
  19. Exactly . Plus the OP said player. Why does anyone bothers putting parameters when people ignore them ?
  20. Power hitter are K machines. No way of getting around it unless you're Judge . Plus the stipulation was $160M by the OP just for 2026. That likely leaves out Tucker. Might leave out Alonso too even though hes 31 so that's iffy. Schwarber is too old. It's also extreme overkill for anything not player related. It'll be interesting to see what Murakami signs for. I picked him because it would signify a big change in White Sox philosophy . Would likely be their biggest contract ever, getting back in the Japanese market, his youth, power lefthandedness ,and OBP are all areas the Sox should continue to emphasize. Stick him at 1st base and a 3-4 of him and Colson against RHP could be deadly for years. If you want to play in the deep end of the pool you just have to dive in. Every player has things you worry about . That might also mean you get a bargain on a very young FA. Does Alonso at 31 get a bigger contract than the 25 yr old Murakami ?
