  1. This is 2026 so when you said historically bad baseball I thought you were referring to the current state of the American League all being around. 500. I forgot youre still stuck in 2024 and all perspectives should be based around that season. Right now the Sox are no worse that half the A.L. teams. Keep quoting those playoff odds and telling us how bad they are. Winning this division doesnt appear to be that hard this year. Teel is starting his rehab assignment tomorrow. We could be a month away from Braden Montgomery joining the lineup. We have 3 top hitters driving the offense not 2 as you stated. This team is getting better . Why fight it so much ? I just watched a Sox on 35th podcast and the 3 guys on it were all having fun covering the team. It has more to do with the current players and a promising outlook than any distorted perspective from losing so much for 3 years. That sentiment works both ways. Your opinion is distorted just as much.
  2. Thank you ! This is the kind of thing that would be fun to discuss if its not made up of course. That's the issue but maybe deserves its own thread or at least more followup. A bombshell tweet like that the guy had to be inundated with comments and questions.
  3. Was there a tweet out there by a fan who was sitting close to Ishbia yesterday and said he talked to Ishbia about signing Murakami ? Watch the latest Future Sox podcast episode. James Fox and Ian alluded to it but never talked about it. Maybe it was nonsense but Id like to hear about that. Ill have to find it and post it.
  4. I can certainly see why yesterdays game thread was archived so early even on an off day for all this quality content instead. Here I ( and others) was posting stupid information about Colson's consecutive game on base streak, Meidroth's hitting streak and Hudson's consecutive scoreless innings streak for fans who might be interested in what's going on since they might be back to watching the Sox again or coming back here for information. Oh and Martin's 17 games started in a row without giving up more than 3 runs streak. Please everyone feel free to post a White Sox Winner game thread after every victory. I apologize for not doing it yesterday and confining the celebrating to just the game thread. I know it wouldn't exactly be celebrating a World Championship but Soxtalk would've had to exist for over 100 years to get only 2 such threads like that so celebrating each victory while the rebuild is on the upswing is essential.
  5. I was just giving you a little grief because you said some nice things but it didnt last too long. Of course things could be better. You dont go from where they were in 2024 to the playoffs over night. For the last 2 years I said the team was getting better and moving in the right direction and for 2 years there are those who still think the worst. This level of PTSD is silly. It's just baseball. People are truly toturing themselves. What good does thinking the worst do ? Objectively if you just opened your eyes you could analyze and see what I've seen and feel much better. I'm not just being stupidly optimistic . I read everything on whats going on and I store it and recall it .I just don't think people focus on the right things . Thats why I know made up stuff when I see it. I don't miss much.
  6. Colson Montgomery's consecutive games on base streak ended at 21. Chase Meidroth extended his hitting streak to 10 games. Going back to April 5th and his last 17 appearances Bryan Hudson's scoreless innings streak is at 15.2.
  7. And really the Cubs are the better team and itll be tough even at home and playing well to beat them. The Royals series means much more . Lots of division series left to play .
  8. Id have to be pretty silly to over react to Randal Grichuk being anything more than a weak side platoon bat just plugging a leak because on injuries. Hey sometimes the part timers can come through and help out once in a while. Hill hit a key HR, Romo hit a few, Grichuk got us back in todays game, Peters has hit like. 340 in the last 17 games and got a walkoff hit. Hudson has stopped some of the BP bleeding with Tyler Davis contributing meaningful innings too. It adds up.
  9. Why continually torture yourself by comparing the low payroll Sox in the waning years or JR's life and ownership in a massive rebuild to thriving franchises ? Yes I know being a Sox fan is a lousy thing so what ? I dont compare it to being a Yankee fan or Cubs fan. We arent those franchises .cursing the fate of being born into liking the Sox doesnt bother me as much as other die hards. If these thing truly bother ed me Id just find something else to frustrate me or give me a more pleasurable experience. Maybe Im just fascinated why others choose misery over contentment. I have no choice in how the team is run. Complaining about it doesnt fix anything. I still have complaints sure because I care but not to the point where it puts me in a bad state of mind or where I have to make up things to try to convince others that its even worse than the actual truth. Look forward not back.
  10. And Im only mentioning Mantle and Maris because it was a pair of teammates hitting a lot of HR that begin with the letter M just like Murakami and Montgomery. Its just a little fun baseball history mixed in for perspective and comparison and giving them the same nickname as the historic players had when they were hitting bombs in 1961. I don't remember that season. I just appreciate baseball history and iconic players and am having fun. Everyone should try to have more fun, just not at the expense of other people. Thats not fun thats cruelty.
  11. There's so little for the Panicans to panic about these days that they make mountains out of molehills just to stay in practice.
  12. Wow not very objective. I expect more from you than the average joe but you sound just like them. Should have just stopped with who the hell else is available at this time of year who teams are parting ways with who are good ? Oh no one ? So guys like Grichuk is who are available . Honestly, objectively and unbiasedly who would you reasonably expect to take the place of an injured OFer in early May who could possibly be released when OF injuries start piling up ? Punting on Beni , Hill, Acuna, Kelenic, Peters , Hays or Grichuk doesnt make finding a replacement this time of year any easier. You're just plugging a leak here not setting your playoff roster or trading for an impact player . Holy over reaction Batman. He's been a pleasant surprise since they got him. That's all you can expect.
  13. Very good post. It sure beats the woe is me, typical White Sox stuff as if this stuff doesnt exist all over sports .Every team in every sport has guys who take longer to heal and predicting the amount of time they will miss is in general. It's an approximation. My Grade 2 pulled hamstring is not the same as anyone else. Body types, weight, muscle mass, blood flow all kinds of things differentiate injuries and healing time depends on your body's response to treatments .
  14. Ideally Baldwin improves his fielding enough to be good in CF but that's a big ask. Such a shame Baldwin will miss what shouldve been a pivotal year in his development with the way he hit in the 2nd half last year after a bad start , being send down and just destroying Charlotte. Braden was born to play RF with that big arm. He 's got All-Star written all over him if he can corral the K's.
  15. Right now the division leader is at .500. Why couldn't the Sox win the division ? It all depends on how they play against the Royals, Guardians, Tigers and Twins. That should test their mettle .
  16. Braden Montgomery may be the RF they are looking for but maybe they use him in CF if Right fielders are easier to acquire like Hays, Pereira, Peters and Baldwin should be back. I sure hope he's working on his fielding without throwing way before he's actually ready to go I was hoping he'd could hit 20 HR this year and battle Teel and Vargas for 3rd on the team but that did not materialize.
  17. Happy pill wearing off. Saves are saves . No one has claimed the Sox will be a World Series contender this year. Just nailing down series wins against teams with similar records goes a long way toward major improvement.
  18. Also aged well. Was already 1-0 when posted. Martin did it and Sox hitters came through in the 8th. Sox BP of Nuke 'Em, Huddy, Sir Anthony held the M's scoreless for 3 innings. Nuke ERA 3.18 Hudson 0.95 Dominguez 3.45 with 9 saves. Off day Monday so entire BP should be good to go Tuesday against the Royals for a big series.
  19. Aging well. Sox won ,Guardians lost. Just need Tigers to beat the Royals.
  20. Not trading anyone if theyre in 1st place with Teel and Braden in the lineup from Jume through the trade deadline. I know it's stick to the plan for now but that plan may include how to handle being in 1st place when August rolls around and drawing big crowds.
  21. 17 consecutive starts with giving up 3 runs or less for Martin.
  22. Career high in pitches and swings and misses in this game.
  23. Sammy Davis Dean Martin. I'm old sorry .
