  1. Wow what a come back !! When Eloy Jimenez hit a solo HR with 1 out to make the score A's 3 White Sox 1, little did we realize the Sox would have an epic come back. When Pollock followed that with the 2nd out that advanced a runner to 2nd it looked like the end. That was followed by a Vaughn single that made it 3-2. Seby got hit by a pitch and Romy Gonzalez tied the game with a single to LF. Elvis Andrus followed that up with a double for 2 more runs. Liam Hendriks walked the leadfoff hitter but followed it with a K and a DP ! Final White Sox 5 A's 3
  2. Might be a good time for your 1st road HR of the year Sheets.
  3. Andrus looked like he got kicked in the head
  4. All right boy's you've played with your food long enough, time to get some runs.
  5. 4-0 2.08 ERA last 4 starts on the road for Gio. He can go 5 or 6 and keep the Sox in the game against a bad hitting A's team.
  6. Soon doesn't mean this year. He may not even be any help to the Sox next year if his plan is to be a starting pitcher. If he does become a starting pitcher. he's basically starting from scratch. It's possible he could have a role like Kopech had last year but he may be better off doing that in the minors. https://www.mlb.com/news/garrett-crochet-looking-for-white-sox-starter-role
  7. Some highlights from this: 7th time in franchise history that the Sox have opened the game with back to back HR's. Elvis Andrus 1st career leadoff HR. Moncada 1st time since 2019 he had a multi- HR game. White Sox 19 HR's in last 10 games. Only 18 HR's in the previous 27 games.
  8. It used to be if you wrote as much as I did after the game ended someone who wrote less beat me to it. Seems like there's less interest in doing it now. Plenty of times this season no one posted any at all so I figured I'd pick up the slack. Usually the games are so close I can't write up the summary before the game ends like I could with this one. Just had to tweak a few things when Yoan and Romy made outs in their last AB's and wait for the final score.
  9. The White Sox started the game with back to back HR's by Elvis Andrus and Yoan Moncada and never looked back. Yoan Moncada went 5-6 with 2 HR's and 5 RBI. Romy Gonzalez was 4/5 with a 3 run HR and a double. Eloy 1-4 with a 2 run HR. 14 runs scored is the most ever in the Oakland Coliseum in 309 career games there. Sox also had 21 hits. 5 HR's equals the most amount ever in Oakland Dylan Cease pitched 6 innings with 0 runs, 3 hits, 9 K and 2 BB lowering his E.R.A to 2.06. He also got 200 K's for the 2nd time in his career . 7th pitcher in White Sox history to have multiple 200 K years. Final score 14-2. Sox gain a 1/2 game on the Indians who were idle. Twins beat the Yankees.
  10. Have a Cuban Sammiche and a beer.
  11. Maybe Yoan should hit RH all the time now !
  12. Engel get's the runner in from 3rd with less than 2 outs .
  13. Great to see Romy doing so well.
  14. Nowhere most of us would last very long at.
  15. Eloy pulling his last couple of bombs and also pulled a double yesterday .
  16. The Birmingham game is on the MLB app on my smart TV. I don't have any kind of subscription so it's free.
  17. Simple pleasures are the best. Baseball having more teams in the playoffs was designed to get underdog champions .Flags fly forever. If the 1917 Sox won a World Series because there was a playoff system and they were thought of as a weaker teams there aren't any people left from around that time who would care. The beauty of baseball is a hot team can beat the best team. But 3 rounds are designed to weed out the weak but it is easier to be hot over a months worth of playoffs than a 162 game season. I'd be perfectly fine with a World Series win under most any circumstances.
  18. I think you are being very logical in how you approach this but the manager or head coach is always the 1st to go in sports when things are disappointing. There are obviously many things wrong with the Sox organization but there really isn't a need to stick up for TLR. I know it's a white knight kind of thing to do especially in the face of some of the awful and callous things you've read . Hahn has plenty of haters too. That's why there is also a Fire Hahn thread. The best thing for your argument is that Tony doesn't come back and the Sox revert back to who they were all season with him which is pretty likely to happen. If you want the Sox to win then maybe he should not come back if the small sample size without him means anything. I know the magically healed thing without him might seem absurd but that's how these things often work in sports. It happened this season for other teams like the Phillies and Toronto. The mid level manager type on the field has a team under his direct hand that has failed . He must be the 1st to go like people were talking about Menechino being the fall guy because upper middle management will not fire themselves. The best thing for the short term health of the Sox is Tony gone. The best thing for the longer term team health is Jerry gone and that's not necessarily a given if a new owner isn't any better considering Sox fans have been waiting for an owner that knows how to grow the franchise and also how to win for a very very long time.
  19. Ha JR doesn't care about you. He should care about a 77 yr. old "friend" doing a very stressful job and an exhausting schedule while traveling constantly.
  20. You're absolutely right. We're hoping they all go away. The fact that TLR is already gone gives us hope the rest will follow.
