AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
CaliSoxFanViaSWside replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I swear he's reminded me of Abreu lately going with the pitch to RF for a hit the other day for the 2 run single today going up the middle today, Nobody appreciates RBI's any more but Abreu knows how to knock them in and if he is counseling Robert that's not a bad thing. The kid appears to be wise beyond his years when it comes to hitting. Natural ability only takes you so far. -

No it's just every post I read from EloyJenkins is about how much he loves Madrigal. Many here including me like him but it's no big deal he isn't here yet because odds are the season will not finish and there's no guarantee that right now his defense, running abilities and especially his hitting is going to be any better than Leury's. He will get his chance to show how good he is without him being in the Opening Day lineup. He's going to have to make better contact and get on base and start dumping some doubles and triples into the corners and show some gap power to keep defenses honest who will probably play him towards both lines in the OF. I'm going to put a pic of him in my wallet right now right next to my 1st grandson who was born June 23rd. -

Not like I go anywhere now but anywhere I go here in California you can't get in without a mask . I have no idea if restaurants are even open here because all I do is grocery shop and eat at home. -

If not now when? Maybe baseball just did a terrible job of hitting the players over the head with how bad it is. Everyone needs to pretend the walking dead are roaming the earth and being in public is suicidal and you will be eaten . -

Kind of hard to eat with a mask on, The problem is more why the fuck are people there in the first place ? -
You never know. With Reylo out for however long , Herrera being Herrera,Gonzalez first experience in the Sox uni being a disaster and a bunch of TJ guys populating the staff,Detwiler may stick around and if Carson was kept there was a small chance he would be effective. Figures the one pitcher not to get TJ while with us turned out so poorly. I really didn't think he pitched all that bad during spring and summer camps.

Ithink they are taking them down after the 1st homestand and letting whoever wants them get them back ? Maybe they just do it over and over all season.

CaliSoxFanViaSWside replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in 2020 Season in Review
Today was pretty much an unmitigated disaster starting with the weird pregame lineup announcements. Rey bombed and hurt. Eloy hurt. Backup plan for Rey (Gonzalez) bombed. Detwiler 0 earned runs in a couple of appearances so far this season. Positive take is Robert looks awesome and Engel too. Hey if Engel has somehow turned a corner he's a great 4th OF . Engel getting 2 doubles off Maeda who is very good against RHH should mean a lot less PT for Delmonico . No reason to keep Delmonico in now when Engel is a much better fielder and now appears to be the better hitter. Having good AB's doesn't mean a hell of a lot if the end result is weak ground balls. K's and popups. On the bad side I see everyone saying Gonzalez , Dunning and Lambert but it could be Detwiler taking Lopez' spot. Lambert is not an option at least from that Tweet someone posted about only going 2 innings max. Sox are TJ maxed out losing Kopech and having 3 starters attempting comebacks from that surgery. -
Eloy left game with lightheadedness.

ReyLo felt pain in start of game

I'm pretty sure someone posted a tweet that the Sox didn't want Lambert going more than 2 innings which seems consistent with what he did in summer camp games. -

Poor guy . I hope some of those hard comments in the game thread makes a few of us realize those are human beings out there not toys to stomp on because their performance makes us unhappy. I know that's how the whole sports and fan dynamic works but we don't always get the perfect perspective. -

If I remember 2018 correctly many saw 2018 as flukish for Rey because his FIP or xFIP wasn't great and 2019 proved many of the his doubters right. That's why so many overlook his many really good starts. -

I agree. Lopez has what it takes and just like any young starting pitcher needs to find a level of consistency. I know many think he will never reach that consistency but no way in hell do you give up on him being a starter. That said he does need to get it together today or this will be one ugly game thread. Right now everyone is hyped about Cease because of one dominant start in an intrasquad game against basically the B lineup. Lopez has had great starts in 2 years worth of starts plenty of times. Just not as often as we would like. -

I think i saw him limbering up also in game 2 but in a 10-3 game gave Lambert a chance to get his feet wet and rest Gio again. -
Yermin promoted? Maybe not (taxi squad), per James Fox
CaliSoxFanViaSWside replied to Heads22's topic in Pale Hose Talk
A three-player Taxi Squad -- which every team is expected to carry on all road trips -- must feature at least one catcher, while the other two players can be either pitchers or position . Or Luis Gonzalez . He did pretty well in spring and summer camp. But I'd definitely guess Goins. They will not use Madrigal in an emergency that would screw up the service time. -

CaliSoxFanViaSWside replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in 2020 Season in Review
We are not sure he is 100% healthy . Plus he's old. The Sox need to find out if Lopez can become an effective starting pitcher. Good young starters are very valuable and he still has a shot at becoming that. You just don't cast them into the BP when they don't become good right away. If he can't hack it as a starter this year. He will get replaced by Dunning or Lambert or Gonzalez soon enough. Rodon actually looked pretty decent in his return and since GG still had shoulder soreness and didn't pitch in the 1st spring training and barely pitched in summer camp it looks like the Sox are just nursing him along. -
And that's a 10-3 White Sox winner!

101 win year with MLB record for HR's in a season vs 72 win season and low power last year. yeah probably the Twins board isn't devoid of trolls either.
