  1. Are jokes or poking a little fun at a person bad form in society today or is everyone too sensitve ? Life would suck without humor so I wish you well with life too.
  2. He tweaked something on his slide home. Hopefully he only misses today.
  3. Was it over when your mom said you couldnt live in the basement any more ?
  4. I thought you thought the Sox are playing for next year. Didnt you tell me that ?
  5. The highs are higher making the lows feel lower. It definitely sucked. I was watching the game and I was questioning the Rodon move and all I could come up with was well he has to be tested in the last 4 games. Not a heck of a lot of time if you can only pitch every other day especially when Bummer also was in the same situation.
  6. Sadness because you lost 4 in a row to a division rival is not destoyed confidence. Im sure they all still believe in the teams ability to win just as they did when the season didnt start so well.
  7. You were the one psychoanalyzing the players. You're not in that clubhouse. You see them during games ,a few seconds of dugout shots post game . Of course they look sad.Who likes losing. The only confidence I can see destroyed is ours.
  8. Fans confidence. Don't impose how you feel onto the players.
  9. This is exactly what I meant when I said yesterday that I dint think one person on this board could predict the BP for the playoffs. I had to get that in yesterday because I knew a move or 2 was due on Bummer and Rodon. Now it gets a little easier with Cishek and Detwiler gone . Once Marshall returns we are good to go .
  10. Technically he is back with the team since he is traveling with them. Now if you take back with the team to mean eligible to pitch again that's different. I honestly don't know how Not Steve phrased it. Just going by what chw42 said.
  11. Exactly. Already got in the playoffs and the BP is in flux with the expected returns of Bummer and possibly Rodon and then they have to pitch and decisions made on very small sample sizes which of them go to the 1st round. Right now I dont know if one person could predict correctly who is going to be in the pen for the 1st playoff series.
  12. Fry had 10 scoreless appearences in a row . 9 before his injury ,1 after. Yes his control has been an issue but we cant expect perfection. Sox didnt get more than 4 anyway so even with 5 shutout inning from then pen we are still tied. Frys last outing didnt he K four in a row ? There was some guy on here who wanted him to pitch longer than he did when he's basically a lefty specialist coming off an injury ,who pitches less than 1 inning per outing. He didnt look to be throwing very hard tonight.
  13. I like the cut of your gib. All these posters so worried about slumps and disadvantages. What about our advantages and our strengths ? Dunning will be the 3 pitcher in the playoffs. Imagine the BP with Bummer , Fry, Crochet and maybe Rodon from the left side when 2 weeks ago we had none of those guys and still was kicking ass. We are at the top in a lot of offensive categories while missing Madrigal, Moncada and Mazara for most of the season for various reasons. Most our key guys are healthy or due back shortly. FEAR the White Sox !
  14. It matter when you need to replace Eloy or Mazara in the OF for late inning defense. If Leury wasnt injured we probably dont get Dyson. But I also agree about the 3rd catcher but it's likely EE is going to the playoffs. .
  15. You did say low OBP and we all know OBP includes walks and batting average HBP and whatever else. Sox also lead the AL in team batting average so I'm more inclined to think we probably already hit our fair share of home runs with men on base. I dont know if there is a stat that will break that down by percent. I'm sure by shear numbers alone we are very high up in the solo HR category but that is just a result of hitting a lot of HRs. I would guess if broken down by percent that the Sox might actually have a better HR with a man+ on base percentage than most teams.
  16. I will agree with the caveat that I'd have to look into the pitching rotations of all teams to see if what you said about pitching on 4 days rest 75% of the time is true. If theres some way for you to prove that I think there would be less as you colorfully described, " pearl clutching ."
  17. Technically 3 days rest is different from 4 days rest, just as 4 days rest is different from 5 . It isnt easy to do going from one to the other when you are used to doing it one way and all your prep work is geared for that. I'm actually surprised at your answer basically equating 3 days rest as the same as 4. Not only that but has he been going on 4 days rest all year or 5 like most pitchers ? There's a big difference in what he THINKS he should be doing and what he is actually doing. Seems to me he is making a personal sacrifice to help the team risking his own health.
  18. If he's not a team 1st guy why is he offering to pitch with 3 days rest when the Reds need the wins in order to make the playoffs ?
  19. Have you not heard the Sox are 1st in OBP in the AL ? Time for all to get on board for the new Sox. The old Sox have been thrown in the garbage.
