  1. Oddly enough Alonso is hitting lefties pretty well. Maybe the same approach against righties would help him. Just go up there looking to go the other way and make contact.
  2. Didn't get a hit or anything but getting Peacock in the 80's with his pitch count is good.
  3. Peacock throwing mostly 4 seamers with Timmy on base with Tilson up and same with Yolmer.
  4. It's worse. I don't think Dunn's SLG % was .250 against RH pitching. but if you can find out you are welcome to.
  5. Hey now you get it. We don't want Alonso this year or next so anyone but him.
  6. Just saying he deserves another chance . He's doing very well in Charlotte . Tilson was also doing very well there and he's been good here too. I mean you aren't going to call him up again if he's been sucking down there.
  7. So are we only supposed to believe a .400 BA, .700 Slg. and 1.300 OPS ? Last time I checked there are still 9 fielders out there and a pitcher trying to get you out .
  8. HA ! Yonder and his putrid ,anemic, paltry, pitiful, distressing, pathetic , wretched, miserable and woeful numbers against righties is batting 4th again.
  9. I'll answer my own question . Palk スマッシュ Sumasshu
  10. How do you say Palk Smash in Japanese ?
  11. It also might be a matter of time before the Sox are closer to 10 games under .500 than 2 . The starting staff is being glued together right now,
  12. Probably because the Charlotte starting pitchers outside of Cease have been terrible He has had 8 starts with Louisville in the same league as the Knights and has a 3.92 ERA . That is great compared to Roach, Stephens and Guerrero . Of course this guy might get lit up just as much in that ballpark. Probably time to bid Roach a fond adieu.
  13. All 3 HR's were oppotacos.
  14. I thought 1 myself and it's not being negative. On the road against 2 good teams . Having a bullpen game and Covey will surely tax the bullpen for the rest of the games. Verlander , Cole , you see a win there ? Peacock tonight and he's been really good his last 2 starts. Maybe a win today but i wouldn't bet on the Sox in Houston with the bullpen starting. Berrios makes Sox hitters look drunk. If we don't get Perez and Ordorizzi might have a chance for another win. I'll go with 2.
  15. 35 AB's after he was hurt in Spring training hardly seems fair to say what you just said , We all know by last year that he can hit HR's and Alonso has been putrid against righties , His SLG. is right around .250 . 250 !
  16. Better at what ? Hard to be a worse hitter than Alonso has been . Better HR hitter than Delmonico Tilson and Cordell .Better as a baseball player not so much but he is getting a ton of walks at AAA .
  17. Seems strange to me that people suggest the Sox are going to part with Alonso, The Sox have played 44 games Alonso has played in 42 of them. Only Moncada and Abreu have played more games. He is also 3rd on the team in plate appearances, He is also making $9M a year a fact that others have pointed out. I have no idea why the Sox play him so much . He's at 0 WAR. Even Engel had a .2 WAR. They seem to be trying very hard to justify trading for him. There's really no point in playing him so much. Chances of getting anything at the trade deadline seem remote and it would be idiotic to give him enough PAs for the Sox to be stuck with him next year. I can only hope those who want him gone are right but right now there is no indication that this will happen. So far he's just a younger version of Adam LaRoche. The crazy thing is Yonder has been even worse against RH pitching and pretty good against lefties but he's getting the bulk of his AB's against righties. BA .153 OBP ,254 . SLG.252 . OPS .506
  18. If he's really valuable enough to get a 4/5 year contract surely giving up a draft pick for him seems reasonable but no one did it. 3 max and even then he might be useless for the rest of this year considering the very late start. I''m thinking 2 years and whoever ends up offering the most for those 2 years or anyone willing to go to 3 years gets him. Contract somewhere in the $25-$40M range.
