Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Don't try to figure that out. Laugh emoji's on plausible posts happen over and over from our vast array of disgruntled and troll members. Edit: Someone give me a laugh emoji ! Edit 2: Thank You

Hoping the Sox are under the radar now seeking Alex Wood.

Sox Non-Tender Yolmer, Frare, Burr, Release Veiera
In case anyone missed it: White Sox re-signed LHP Caleb Frare to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Frare was non-tendered on Monday after surrendering three earned runs over just 2 2/3 innings at the major league level in 2019. The 26-year-old left-hander will likely open the 2020 campaign at Triple-A Charlotte. Source: James Fegan on Twitter

Aren't the Sox more likely to be ready in 2021 than 2020?
You mean a stellar 1/2year in the minors ? That's where he's going after he comes back after mid season.

Scar Tissue - Bobby Jenks
Bless you Big Bad Bobby Jenks and all those who helped you.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
No idea. 2 Boras guys ( Ryu and Keuchel) 2 without a draft pick attached (Ryu and Keuchel ) Bumgarner might prefer the NL , Ryu decent chance he stays in California though he did bet on himself and it worked out well so I'd like to think he'll be open to any team.

Joc Pederson - Is it goin down?
Sox don't wanna wear a Joc.

Joc Pederson - Is it goin down?
Reading all the hating on McCann reminds me so much of all the hate on Quintana early with the Sox. I must've heard the phrase " smoke and mirrors" more in that time frame than I will hear it for the rest of my days.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
We only think the options suck. Somebody in this group is going to shine. Some teams are going to get excess value from some players no one ever mentions. We just need to search under all the rocks . I wish some of the minor league gurus around here would make more suggestions of players not ranked who had really good seasons at AAA who aren't already in their late 20's who might be blocked but might not have the pedigree to be taken that seriously by the parent club, kinda like Mercedes is with us only an OF who can actually field and hit.

Tsutsugo - UPDATE: To Rays
You beg to differ ? You didn't differ at all . You did nothing but state the obvious. No shit we have to build around the core .So don't trade the core but trade away players that will bring back the most in trade ? Who would that be ? Oh yeah it would be the young core. Ad yea I include the unproven guys in that core., Collins, Kopech, Lopez, Cease, Dunning. Robert , Madrigal and whoever I forgot.

Tsutsugo - UPDATE: To Rays
What kind of risks ? Spending $100M on Madbum ? Signing Ryu ? Can you be more specific ? If you mean trading our young talent please tell me the point of a rebuild if not to have controllable young talent for many years ?.
-
Tsutsugo - UPDATE: To Rays
No they don't have to take some risks. They are sitting on a ton of youngtalent that is just starting to get their feet wet. If you mean take some risks to make the playoffs next year that's even worse. This guy isn't much of a option but he should be cheap .

Cole to the Yankees: 9 years, $324 million.
If you are referring to the Heyman Tweet that said that., that Tweet is older than the Heyman one I cited about Cole assuring them he had no west coast bias.

Cole to the Yankees: 9 years, $324 million.
Nothing is official. It was just yesterday Heyman put out a tweet the Cole assured the Yankees he had no West Coast bias when they met with him for 4 hours .

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
I think the Sox needed to 2021 to compete anyway, Just too many young question marks to lay every single hope of making the playoffs on Wheeler. That's just pie in the sky wishing and hoping getting that one guy will lead to getting the next guy and converting on them all. It's just not reasonable thinking . We'll know more about our minor league guys and the young guys on the 25 after 2020 and maybe have more trade chips if some do well and if Kopech, Collins, Robert, Madrigal. Lopez or Cease really step up things can change in a hurry.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Personally I don't think the Sox have the ammo for a good pitcher with 3 years of control without dipping into prospects no one wants to trade which is what Detroit would want. When trading within a division when you are rebuilding I don't think it matters too much . The Tigers wont be good for a long time so Boyd beating them is what they want anyway when they are tanking. I was just responding to the feeding on the bottom dwellers comment and threw out a name.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Wait so you take a 72 win team add Robert, Madrigal, Kopech Keuchel Catellanos Grandal. Then you still have Jimenez with a year of experience under his belt, a superstar in Moncada another year of Giolito. Cease and Lopez getting another year to figure things out and it's all worth only 4 extra wins ? SO you subtract Keuchel add Wheeler and Castellanos and they go from 76 wins to a playoff team ? I don't think you care at this point if you make any sense. You are just angry.
-
Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Yep the only reason for the hate oh him is that people want to make the playoffs which to me was pretty pie in the sky thinking if the only way to make them was all put on getting one pitcher when in reality getting Wheeler only gave us 2 good pitchers and a bunch of unproven youngsters.

Matt Boyd ?

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Maybe put a little red light bulb inside the head if you want to make it unique but functional. Put a AA or AAA battery in the base. No one would make one that explodes too many chances for lawsuits.
-
Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Maybe Grandal is part of the Ryu friends and family plan.

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
Pretty much what i said. Let her walk and see who else she can find who makes $24M a year. Get some stones Wheeler. You're going to regret it when she divorces you and gets half of it. At least get a prenup. Wuss.

Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
If you were an impending free agent would you make it public knowledge what your preferences were or would you field offers from a lot of teams and see which one came the closest to your ideal situation while pitting each team against the other ?

Sox in on MadBum
They are both. I put a post and links to articles in the Wheeler thread saying how much his fastball/curveball spin rates improved like top of the league improvement. His hard hit balls % wasn't so good. Bottom 15% if I remember right . I;m not a sabremetrician so I'm sure there re other metrics to use on either side. I will say I don't dislike him as much as every here besides turnin' two. I have been suggesting that with the increased spin rate he might ve had a few problems with commanding those pitches at the higher spin rate and would look to next year to him having a much better idea on where his pitches were going. Even though his walk rate was good I think he left a lot of balls over the middle of the plate that were hit hard and resulted in a lot of HR's. This is just me trying to project him whereas most people are saying please no, God no ,and hard pass because a player is always who he is especially with the mileage on his arm and being a fly ball pitcher. I think he will be better, most do not.

Sox in on MadBum
Twins are in on Ryu too supposedly.
