Pitcher with a decent slider gets Eloy on 3 straight sliders.

Bad AB. Jose knows they are going to pitch him down . Pitcher made some nice pitches though early in the count and once down in the count Jose couldn't lay off.

That Eloy AB was a carbon copy of how I answered when someones asked a few days ago how would you pitch to Eloy." Jam him and dare him to pull it" was strike 1 "Sliders away" was strike 2 and "fastball up" was strike 3.

Sox at Twinkies
I was thinking the same thing about how patient they were, especially with Soler. Arraez hit at every level then had a rehab with a knee injury but we have to remember how yyoung some of those guys were when they were drafted. I think Arraez was 16.

Except my main point was who do the Sox have currently in the majors who was drafted with int'l slot money ? Hahn talks about sustained success and one of the ways to achieve that is use that money well. They did one big one with Robert but for as long as that has been around they have very little success. And you will notice all of the guys I brought up were before the Sox had the penalty for signing Robert.

Arraez is the Twins latest example of what can happen when you scout well and spend your international bonus pool money. Kepler,Soler , Polanco and Arraez are all big parts of the Twins every day players. Kepler and Sano in 2009, Polanco in 2010 and Arraez in 2013 ; Kepler and Arraez are LH , Polanco is a switch hitter. Sano is right handed. That's a lot of power and LH'edness and some high batting average and plate discipline from Arraez along with the ability to play all over the diamond. Those 4 have combined for easily above .850 OPS this year

2020 RF options
I agree . Way too many doubters on Collins limited AB's. Sox are in desperate need of LH power and OBP. He can provide both. Give him the time to adjust just like Moncada and Eloy needed that time and probably Robert will also need time.

And this is why I will always read your posts . When all many see is baseball stupidity you can come up with a solid reason for the move. Berrios is a tough right hander with a great slider especially tough on right handers. Since Anderson is going for a batting title , it's a move meant to protect him . Unfortunately Eloy doesn't get that luxury , maybe next year when he's going for the batting crown.

Eloy named player of the week
During that stretch, the 22-year-old went 10-for-23 with one double, three home runs, 11 RBIs, three walks, six runs, three multi-hit efforts and a 1.370 OPS. https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/news/eloy-jimenez-named-player-of-the-week-offense-tough-stretch Eloy is my current favorite player with his childlike demeanor. Seems like he's always smiling and acting silly . One of his POTW quotes was “You think it’s easy?” said Jimenez with a laugh prior to Monday’s series opener at Target Field. “And especially because they are really good pitchers. “They just don’t have 100 mph. They have really good stuff like sliders at 94 [mph]. That’s crazy.” He was talking about the Mets pitchers. He still seems to be in awe of it all.
