9/22/2019 White Sox v. Tigers
Nice piece of hitting by Mendick. Didn't let that bad strike 2 call that put him in the hole 0-2 affect him.

I'm sure he just hits the ball where it's pitched and doesn't try to do too much except make solid contact.

And that HR wass probably the one he has pulled the most all season. Usually they are to left center when he pulls it which I don't even really count as pulled. That one was to straightaway left.

And it's not just Eloy, it's also Moncada and Anderson and others Those 3 hot at the same time is what's very exciting.

Cooper discouraged by social media negativity
I think they will be much improved yes but so I think they will have more than 2 years straight in the playoffs ? No . Do you I think they will win a World Series in the next 5 years ? I don't really want to say no to that .

James McCann - catcher of the future ?
And that is the definition of idiotic. Who the hell gives up free agency ? An extension with a new team like the White Sox would have practically zero chance of happening. I see why others like Arenado get locked up but no chance with Pederson. I have no idea why anyone would think he should be an option. Whatever you give up is too much for just a year. Let's just repeat the Samardzija deal . That worked out swell.

Cooper discouraged by social media negativity
Yep all the glaring inadequacies of the organization are still pretty much still there. The only way we resolve it in our heads is seeing the progress of individual players and knowing there's money to be spent. But realistically we know who is in charge and think the chances are slim they can pull this off especially in light of the fact that even if the front office has stayed the same we don't see enough changes in the process to think it can be successful. If the fan base is negative it's because we are a little more informed on that process. We get to see how the successful teams have done it However fans will always be fans. There is no more negativity than at any time before. It's just now there are forums to express it instead of just small talk among fans like in the past. People are just using their voices to be heard. This is the message the Sox front office should spread among it's people when they are approached about negativity on social media but of course they don't because Hahn himself had his 2 cents on the same topic.

Last Sox rookie to sport an .800+ OPS?
Moncada, Eloy and dare I dream Luis Robert might become the most dynamic offensive trio in the game on one team in a few years. Name any 3 great offensive players from one team who we can compare them to now and what they may become ? Bregman , Correa, Springer . Alvarez. Altuve ? Pick any 3 .Acuna, Freeman , Donaldson ? Betts, Bogaerts, Martinez, Devers ? Rendon, Soto. Trea Turner ? Polanco, Cruz, Kepler ? , Bellinger, Muncy. Justin Turner ? Stanton , Judge, Torres, LeMahieu ? If I am hijacking, my apologies .

Anderson just got a walk but yes definitely need more OBP. The Sox lineup lately has been getting a lot of hits but not as many runs as they could be it lineup construction, poor hitting with RISP , lack of power or lack of OBP .

Yolmer contemplates not being on the Sox
No there are plenty of guys who are good players who are essentially bench players. Marwin Gonzales last year was one. Brock Holt is a free agent this year and he's a very valuable bench /depth piece. I have mentioned him and Scooter Gennett plenty of times before. Gennett would be a helluva bench piece but it all depends on if he can make or has made a full recovery from a severe groin strain. Just look at his stats from 2017 and 2018. He's going to have to accept the best offer and I doubt it 'll be very high because he looked so bad this year. They both play multiple infield and OF positions. Then there's Moustakas who may be perfect for DH and as a bench piece at 1st 3rd and 2nd. If for some odd reason Jose ends up on another team then he is your starting 1st baseman, but it's possible the Brewers keep him since there's an option for 2020. I'm sure if I looked harder at other teams I could find more like Zobrist and Howie Kendrick , both free agents.

So do more complete players . Billy Hamilton has a great glove and great speed but who wants him without power and ability to reach base A bench is just not a bench. A bench needs to be able to fill in for long periods in case of injury with slightly less production then is expected from the injured player . You cannot lose a starter and then only have a fill in who only is speed and glove.

And That's A Slammin' White Sox Winner !
He'll still throw it occasionally. Someone mentioned that he's throwing the slider more now in place of the curve. Probably Fathom since because he hates Cooper and thinks that's a Cooper trait since Gio also had a curve and ditched it for slider /changeup as Cease is now doing. Perhaps if this is a coop trait then it might be because the curve and fastball are 2 radically different pitches and for guy who need to improve command, especially fastball command ,that the slider is more like a fastball and they play off each other better since a slider looks like a fastball until it breaks. Once you establish fastball command the curve might be more of a weapon like Verlander basically uses fastball slider curve changeup.

Yolmer contemplates not being on the Sox
So you want Leury, Yolmer and Engel back ? That is not a good bench. There's no power or OBP . Sure Engel and Sanchez are good gloves but along with the other more obvious needs the Sox need more depth in order to field a good team. Basically it comes to this do you want to win or keep guys you like personally ?

Free Agency - How confident are you?
You left out Cease.

And That's A Slammin' White Sox Winner !
Hah Palka deserves a little love for 1 game and you just can't leave out a 4 hit game by anyone.

And That's A Slammin' White Sox Winner !
Eloy Jimenez continued his hot hitting by falling a double short of a cycle while hitting a Grand Slam (HR 29) and going 3/5 with 4 RBI. Yoan Moncada continues to be even hotter going 2/3 with a walk and HR #24 and 2 RBI. Daniel Palka entered the game with 2 hits on the season and exited with 5 , all singles. Yolmer Sanchez embraced the lead off spot in the lineup going 4/6 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI to pace the 18 hit Sox attack. Zack Collins extended his hitting streak to 5 games going 1/5 with a double and an RBI. Tim Anderson went 2/5 with a double in pursuit of the AL Batting title. He is hitting .336. He also has an 8 game hitting streak in which he has 14 hits. Dylan Cease pitched 6 innings giving up 1 run on 5 hits 2 walks and 8 K's. White Sox 10 Tigers 1 .

Who would still want Maddon?
Nah Sox need to forge their own identity. It was bad enough Renteria managed the Cubs now Maddon ? No.
