  1. I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round I really love to watch them roll No longer riding on the merry-go-round I just had to let it go
  2. Wait weren't you making contingency plans to root for another team ?
  3. Lozano doing what my avatar is doing to ol' Bob and Buster.
  4. Let me make it plain what I think. There might be teams out there who have told Lozano give me a call when you are near the conclusion and we'll see what we can do. Those teams might be conversatively filling other holes on their rosters . That means those teams have been in it since the beginning, quietly in it, but still in it from the start. I think it's highly implausible that any team not in it from the start will come suddenly swooping in.
  5. That's why I think everyone afraid of other teams jumping in @$175M is a load of horse manure. We all need to try to think as executives in charge of a multi billion dollar corporation instead of .25 ante weekend poker players who buy back into the pot because they happen to have an extra $10 in their wallet. These things are planned out in advance , these teams have other holes to fill . They can't hold up there own team while jumping in at one amount then jumping right back out when it gets too rich. You are either in or out from the start knowing full well that the market can either crater or explode.
  6. So these theoretical teams then have specific guidelines for jumping in but also specifics guidelines for not participating and those numbers are between $175 M and $250 M ?
  7. Am I lost ? Am I still in the Machado mega thread ?
  8. What past behavior? When as the last time the Sox were in a rebuild with low payroll commitments with 2 26 yr old superstars on the market with not too many suitors ? There is no past behavior to this specific situation.
  9. True the top players cannot keep getting more and more and taking up a larger percentage of the payroll. That's why the lower tiered free agents keep getting less along with lower values assigned to 30 and over players. The payroll ceiling will have to be raised .
  10. It's fun . It's only exhausting if you let it be. No need to freak out. What will believing or not believing any if this do. Just accept it as part of the process. Once it's done you can either celebrate or be whatever mood the final decision leads you to. It's all about your own personal perspective. Some here think Reinsdorf is cheap so supposedly low offers make them freak and confirm their bias while failing to look at the big picture that there are agendas in practically every tweet we see. We can all rant and rave trying to figure those agendas out but age has taught me I'm not a player in this so I'll just wait it all out and hope for the best.
  11. Another idiot tweeter who doesn't understand negotiations. What about the other teams that we don't even see an offer from ? If it's ludicrously low show me a better one. Whatever happened to the days when as fans we couldn't relate to these monstrously high salaries that now we call $175M "ludicously low" ?
  12. No one gives a rat's ass about the fans. Fans have no influence in the process whatsoever.
  13. Even if it's true it's the best offer out there. Why is it criminally low as some have said if no one has beat it so far ?
  14. Also will never happen. Clevelandcan't go that high and they 're a contender. Oakland, Pittsburgh and on and on can't touch that. Sox highest payroll so far is way under that figure.
  15. Eh why would MM be unhappy that we paid the most for him? Maybe he should be pissed at all the other teams that didn't want him.
  16. It's all about competitive balance, You just can't have the richest teams outbidding everyone all the time . The richest teams with the most payroll still get a lot of the best players but the tax insures more teams have a chance.
  17. He knows I'm kidding . He didn't take offense. It was perfectly fine for everyone to jump all over peavy44 and continuing to do so in his absence because he couldn't put coherent sentences together and passed himself off as having his own personal source and I thought that was cruel but because the masses were doing it and getting huge points for it too. it became harder to enforce the code of conduct. I 've never had a problem with Jack. I like how he bares his soul and puts himself out there. Jack I am sorry if to you I crossed the line.
  18. Sorry Chili can't agree. I haven't said anything to the billion other poster who talk of it being exhausting and tedious. I find it invigorating. I mean what could be more exciting than the Sox being in on a huge talent ? Not a prospect but an actual young MLB superstar. I love it. I wish it would happen every year.
  19. Me too no doubt. You can ask him I've been right there with him. I'm just giving him a bit of a noogie.
  20. Part of it ? Dude you like the epi-center of it .
  21. ...says the guy I tried to convince last night to go to bed and nothing would happen last night but was too stoked because he thought yesterday had to be the day .
  22. Sure he did. All it would've taken is the Sox non tendering him then resigning him.
  23. I see you lurking. You haven't posted in almost 3 years. Nice to see you.

    Ron
