So you can tell me with certainty that when situations change outcomes remain the same ? You must have that green infinity stone.

Never say no DP possible because people line into DP's or even other way's. A k and runner thrown out trying to advance and i could name others. Gus your a good guy but I find it odd when people tell me because of the results such as HR's after the bunts that we were likely to hit this guy well no matter what, When people start telling me this before the games start that we will hit well against a certain pitcher or not hit against a certain pitcher I will start believing in psychic powers but telling me whats happening as it's happening is not a revelation.

Your arguments are baseball stupid 101 if it was that easy in the age of massive K's how does anyone ever fail to advance a runner ?

Maybe we can add Robert to that list next year.

You know what the bunts did. Advanced runners to 3rd with 1 out. SF scored 1 ,a single scored the other . AFer that there was no need to bunt the HR's just added to the lead .

And getting us runs and giving away outs. Are you just being contrarian here ? We have faced plenty of stiffs and not got many runs. Why not just be objective and say hey the bunts produced runs and we're ahead 5-0 . Nope half of you just bash for the sake of making fun of the guy. I don't like him any more than most but when things work give him credit.

Ok if you are going to be unreasonable and make non sensenscal posts I have no further use to debate this. You know hitters can't do things just because they have to or want to otherwise how do any teams ever win if everyone does exactly what they have to or need to do. All games would be 30 runs per side if what you say is true.

And how many times have we said that this year.? I didn't know we had a team of All Stars.

so 2 bunts result in 2 runs plus a HR with a guy on base. This is not an argument to support RR just saying so far it's worked out twice and we added extr runs and it' 4-0 after ,.. make that 5-0 before the 3rd inning is finished. McCann !!

No sounds like your point was a hitter can hit a GB to the right side any time he wants to and you know that isn't the case.

We'll see I guess, bull pen is well rested but someone today is gong to give up runs today.
-

If Detwiler was an opener that would be a good 3 innings but I'm sure they will leave him in until he gives up at least 1 run.

He could K, pop up, line out into a DP, a shallow fly out, or get a hit also. SO what's your point ?

Plus with Jay, Skole and Yolmer coming up. Maybe that's what he means by knowing his guys. He knows the chance of a multirun inning are slim. How often does a runner on 2nd score with no outs ? Then throw in it's 3 guys who can't hit and even if someone does get a hit it doesn't mean it scores the run.

Reinsdorf assures Ron that Abreu will always be a White Sox
Whoever decided to put Ron's name in the thread title it's like giving an alcoholic a bottle of liquor. I know some of you think the guy is likable but he's becoming a glorified troll and they are at best ignored .

Free Agency - How confident are you?
This is not news. It could be media guy schilling for Boras. We all know what the problem is if they try but do not land him. They would be outbid in years and money or all things being equal a more desirable place to play, We all know that $68M is still the top money Reinsdorf has ever allowed the team to spend on one contract. Throw in that he hates doing it long term for pitchers and the odds of the Sox signing him or anyone else requiring long years and top money without idiotic owner protection clauses is practically nil.

Luis Robert and Nick Madrigal
Rather they been up weeks ago .Chisox59 always wants the extra service time and minimizes the impact by calling it missing 2.5 to 3 weeks probably not being enough time to make a difference of 3-5 games. However, lets add some more games if both have an acclimation period to adjust to MLB pitching. How long does that take for each ? If they were brought up earlier this year maybe they could start next year being good from the start. How many games are we talking about now ? What if the adjustment period is relatively short compared to Jimenez and Moncada and lasts 6 weeks. How many combined games are being effected now ? Remember 2 players so multiply the games by 2. It's simpler to just say they take the same amount of time to acclimate rather than go through who adjusts first or if one adjusts and one needs to be send back down etc. Admittedly there are all kinds of scenarios that could affect how the Sox perform next season. The biggest is who they sign in the off season. But if we assume the Sox do enough to have a good team capable of making the playoff then I want the gun fully loaded from the start of the season and having them up this year is just a way to get the ammo as ready as it can be so it can be more explosive the second it is fired. They are so used to tanking now that they have forgotten that if you want to win you can't make decisions based on 6 years from now . You have to do everything you can to win in the immediately future. Anything short of that they might as well just admit they are starting the season without a fully loaded weapon that even when fully loaded has a chance to misfire because the ammo wasn't loaded right. I think Chisox59 is one of the best posters on the board and we agree much of the time but his stance on this is baffling to me.

It helps being old once in a while. I really liked that movie when it came out and Ally Sheedy was cute as a button.

White Sox vs Twins 8/20/2019
Yes you have to once in a while. Because even if you execute your pitches batters are not afraid of being brushed backed that gives them ownership of more of the plate. So even if you execute your pitches the batters have a better chance of hitting them. Besides expecting pitchers to just execute their pitches is just asinine. Not every one is Greg Maddux . C'mon now this isnt about it being the 60's this is common sense on how to pitch more effectively without always executing your pitches.

I was talking about us posters when we argue about who we want and then get rebuffed no matter who we say we want.

Twins with 14 runs and how many times has a batter been knocked on his ass ?

But Hahn is full of shit. Winning a World Series should be the only goal when they haven't done anything to prove they are serious about sustained success except ..except.. damn I'm drawing a blank.

Well you can't win when you talk about free agency . If you say you want Cole and Rendon then you come back and say no way that happens and then if you lower your expectations you say why not aim higher ? You know the old damned if u do , damned if u don't routine.
