  1. They have no choice but to believe in him. They sure aren't going to give up on him and admit that Hostetler was a complete dumbass saying he wouiuld've picked him 1-1.
  2. We can bet a penny then you only have to pay out $400 if you lose. You just said nearly 100% odds and you listed the odds at 40,000 to 1 in your favor. Surely that's good enough to gamble on . Any other team gets him besides Cubs and Sox and it's a wash , no money owed.
  3. Let's bet a dollar on those odds you posted. You win I send you $1, I win you send me $40,000.Time to put up or you know the rest. You take Cubs I take Sox.
  4. Oh boy so if that's the case let me bet Jack $1 and I get $40,000 if I win.
  5. 2017 he was pretty bad 1.631 WHIP 6.6 BB9 2018 WHIP .991, 4.8 H9 but also 4.2 BB9 but highest K9 for his career at 13 Both BB9's were highest of his career. Our 9th innings would be exciting for sure.
  6. Strasburg might not but the rest probably will . I know there's a ton of speculation about Arenado resigning with the ROX but no one knows that. Not many give up the right to free agency. I also left out Verlander and Felix Hernandez because of their age .
  7. You mean non existent after Sale, Goldschmidt, Arenado, Rendon, Bumgarner, Cole. Khris Davis,Bogaerts, Gregorious, Gennett, Castellanos, Puig, Wheeler and guys like JD Martinez and Strasburg who can opt out.
  8. Because it takes a minute to go from pretty sure you knew to being correct. I knew it was wrong because I had done previous research on Kikuchi and anyone making a thread on acquiring him should probably know the facts about him.
  9. Um because Harper provides more in terms of excitability and marketability while Machado is seen as a non hustling dirty SOB. I know you know this but maybe don't believe it ? Machado is the anti Harper. He's been the consistently better player but Harper is till capable of higher upside. He's not quite Albert Belle crazy dirty psyhco but still with all social media now as opposed to back then he's getting much more bad press about it.
  10. Ryan Raburn owned the Sox . Had crazy numbers against us and blah against everyone else.
  11. I picked a figure pretty much right in the middle 36 + $7 posting fee equals $43M with the $7M going to his former team. I think 6yrs is too high for him but you never know . Maybe 5 max with team option for a sixth. Very doubtful the Sox have any interest in him at all nor he in the Sox. As you know I have said next year was going to be the go after a starting pitcher year. The Nova signing all but confirmed it.
  12. Just for the record I think it's irresponsible to start a thread on the guy and give out false info on the posting fee when it took me about a minute to find it on google.
  13. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/yusei-kikuchi-to-be-posted-for-mlb-teams-everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-japanese-lefty/ Contract worth $25 million or less: 20 percent of total guarantee Contract worth $25 million and $50 million: $5 million plus 17.5 percent of amount over $25 million (it probably should say contract worth between 25 and 50M) Contract worth $50 million: $9.375 million plus 15 percent of amount over $50 million He has 30 days to sign from when he was posted which was Dec, 4 so he;ll be signed by early January. Boras is his agent. My guess is Kikuchi signs in the between $25M and $50M range. Offer 4/36 see if he bites. 2019 will be his age 28 season Posting fee on that is $5M and 17.5 % of $11M.so another $1.925M so approx. $7M posting fee for a $36M contract. Has shoulder issues not very durable prefers West coast. Sox probably no interest but same agent as Harper so he might come up in coversation.
  14. By September if all goes well he could already very close to his innings limit so an earlier call up if he's kicking ass is very possible.
  15. I still have no idea why Fiers was non tendered, DIdn't he have like a 3.7 bWAR ?
  16. Ha I fixed it. I swear ya start messin' round callin' Eloy ,Elroy and it comes back to bite ya in the arse.
  17. I think they're happy to spend all day talking about the Yankees signing Happ. They probably loathe talking about the White Sox. Royals, Tigers, Indians, A's Rockies, Diamondbacks, Padres, I rarely see any of their shows without the lead story being East Coast -centric. Rosenthal and Dan O'Dowd are the only ones with any perspective.
  18. No they aren't trying to compete in 2019 . The Nova signing should 've told us all that. Barring miraculous seasons from Moncada, Eloy Giolito, Rodon, Anderson Abreu , Castillo, and the entire bullpen they will not compete even with Harper or Machado. Probably not with Harper and Machado too. Now if they sign another good starting pitcher or take a chance on Kichuchi's shoulder, trade for a 3rd baseman, put Harper at 1st base, add Brantley and trade Abreu for a CF I MIGHT think they are trying to win in 2019. Even then it would still take some miracle seasons from most of the pitching staff and some trade deadline moves to have a shot in the playoffs.
