Interesting you brought up India as an underslot pick. He has helium because of the great year he is having in a very good conference,In 48 games he's hitting .382, OBP .524 , Slg. .771 44BB/36K so he definitely fits the Sox recent draft profile. All that being said the Sox might not mess around with an underslot pick since Jake Burger might not ever work out due to his body betraying him. Tough though since the draft probably ends up producing later picks that end up better than earlier picks with so many of the top 10 picks not considered elite. Will be interesting to see if India makes it into the top 10 players picked.

88 years comment pretty unfair since you really have no idea how they did things and no free agents or divisions or wildcards most of those years. Sox have never had an ownership group that could be called free spending and many years of tightwad or just lack of money ownership. The 3 times in 23 years was much better.

I had a problem with Renteria sticking with Avi in the 2 hole. He was sucking there and for an important piece like Avi it is essential he show last year wasn't a fluke. Renteria just refused to move him from that spot until he was injured when Sanchez seemed the an obvious choice to bat 2nd.

It's just really sad when moves are made just for the sake of making moves. No real intent to improve the team one iota. If and when they strike out on big name free agents it will be disgusting. I just hope the off season moves were intended to keep us bad and spend their revenue sharing provisions and not made because they thought anyone they signed besides Castillo was any good. All they basically did was sign a bunch of bodies hoping some float . It just would be nice if the Sox showed they could pick out veterans that can actually provide talent before they actually really need to. I think that was driving my requests for Moustakas more than anything.Well that and the fact LH power. youngish .cheapish and filled a need.
