  1. QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 11, 2011 -> 01:51 AM) It wasn't a bad shot, but I got tired of seeing IU make bad shots throughout the game. Basically the formula for beating No. 1 this year is: 1. make tons of 3s at a high percentage 2. ???? 3. profit. Isn't that the formula for beating a #1 EVERY year? Unless you mean something like another top 5 team vs. #1, any upset against a #1, especially by an unranked team, is going to involve a lot of 3s and a lot of luck. To be honest, it sounds like you always want the best team to win. That's not how it works. No one's denying Kentucky is leaps and bounds a better team than IU, but that doesn't mean that IU can't beat them some nights, like yesterday.
  2. This is kind of cool, if only because of how nuts it gets so quickly. http://player.vimeo.com/video/33466457
  3. Words cannot describe my elation. I was going to agree with the refs being in IU's favor, but it definitely evened out over the course of the game. In any case, it didn't decide the game. QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 10, 2011 -> 06:13 PM) At least someone admits it. The big difference to me is IU making 3s like crazy and most of them on bad shots. Then Hulls thinks he is actually good at basketball and takes an off-balance catch and shoot 3. Yeah right. Either way, invaluable experience for this IU team. They haven't had a big game in a long time. I'd agree with you...if I haven't seen Jordan Hulls just continually make shots time and again. The kid just makes shots. If he even has an inch of space, he'll nail it. But maybe we just disagree about 3-pointing in general, because I'm not entirely sure how you consider that Watford "chucking it up" at the end. He was squared up and took a good shot. I'm not denying IU shot out of their minds for most of that game, because they did. But they weren't exactly randomly thrown up with their eyes closed, either.

    Top US Cities

Chicago is obviously up there. I live in Minneapolis right now, and it's awesome. I could see myself staying here awhile. I also really want to try Austin, Denver and Portland. Everything I've heard about those three places makes it sound like they'd be perfect for me.
  5. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 08:54 AM) The worst call of the game was the flagrant. I get it's not really a flagrant call, but an intentional one, but that was still horses*** and completely flipped the game to IU. He was clearly playing the ball. Pritchard? (white dude, #25 I think for Indiana) made an even worse foul on a breakaway and it wasn't called. But whatever, credit Indiana for a good win. I agree that the Intentional foul was a bad call, especially considering Pritchard did the same exact thing earlier and it wasn't intentional. However, its effect is lessened to me because if IU had lost, IU fans could say the exact same thing about the incredibly obvious goaltend at about 8 min left in the 2nd half that wasn't called, and NC St immediately got back nailed a 3. That's a 5 point swing, too.
  6. Happy Birthday to a fellow IU alum!
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 09:20 PM) Can we switch up this awful challenge to get other conferences involved please? These games have been beyond brutal. I (obviously) thought IU-NC St was a great game, but besides that I've only seen Illinois and Ohio St, and those games werent as good.
  8. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 07:59 PM) I'm pretty sure Chicago St. exists just to get the Salukis a win. And Illinois. Do they play Illinois St, EIU, WIU, NIU, and UIC? Just give all the state schools W's!
  9. Need that timeout. Also, am I missing something, or was that an incredibly blatant non-call on the goaltend? Can't leave Wood open like that on the other end, though.
  10. Ha, at the half, NC St has as many Offensive Rebs (12) as IU does TOTAL Rebs.
  11. NC St easily exposing IU's biggest weakness: rebounding.
  12. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 10:15 AM) Let's just say I staffed him for a day. And he was really s***ty. Sweet Jesus please let my mind's improbable conclusions from this be correct.
  13. How in the hell was that a not a walk on whoever it was crossing the lane (I think it was one of the Plumlees) before passing? There were at least 2 steps, and he didn't even shoot. I mean, the player he passed to missed the shot anyway, but still.
  14. Really, Boeheim? This is what you want to say? "I do my job. What happened on my watch, we will see. When the investigation is done, we will find out what happened on my watch." (emphasis added) I'm not sure if I could come up with a greater combination of snark, pomposity and arrogance if I tried for a thousand years.
  15. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 29, 2011 -> 07:46 PM) Mixed feelings about it. It would be the 4th pro system Cutler has been in for his career. Just as he's finally starting to make progress in this one. Hopefully if they do get another OC, it'll be someone off the Shanahan tree (BESIDES KYLE) that runs the West Coast offense so it wouldn't be starting all over again. This is pretty much how I feel. Martz is way too dumb way too often, but I really don't want to give Cutler ANOTHER offense to learn.
  16. This is the first time I've seen Illinois for more than a minute or two. I agree with what's been uttered here -- unimpressive apart from Maniscalco. I'd say Illinois and IU are about even right now, with Illinois perhaps a bit ahead. That was a pretty impressive block from Leonard right there.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 29, 2011 -> 08:02 AM) That story never gets old by the way. ?
  18. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Nov 28, 2011 -> 11:58 PM) I guess these laws are only good to have enacted when poor people get caught. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-11-23/a...-executive.html Well, on the flip side, perhaps it's slightly encouraging that the police still arrested a (presumably) well-dressed White man, despite the perceived racial undertones associated with the law.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 28, 2011 -> 10:11 PM) Yeah that's going to start a war. That was my thought. I have no idea what Jimmy is going to do exactly, but it's going to be bloody. This could easily turn him into the bloodthirsty mafioso Luciano and Capone want.

  23. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 28, 2011 -> 03:55 PM) Probably a toss-up. They trailed most of the game against Vanderbilt (they led by 1 late but faltered) and beat Texas. Their D looks suspect on paper and they only have one shooter, but they're athletic and have some size. CJ Leslie is a stud. I read that Scott Wood was out for Wednesday's game.
