Game. Just didn't hit enough shots tonight. Credit to Wisconsin for hitting their free throws down the stretch (not to mention the entire game). -

At least when Brusewitz had awesome hair I could have something funny to look at while I hated him. Now I don't even have that. -

Jebus, I think Verdell has managed to fall to the ground four times without anyone touching him. GET A REBOUND. I could say that any game this year, really. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 26, 2012 -> 09:36 PM) How has Crean not recognized that Bruiser is guarding Zeller? Not getting Zeller the ball enough has been a more on-again than off-again problem this year. Not liking this. To win in an environment as hostile as the Kohl Center, you need to play great defense, which the Hoosiers have done, and hit your shots when you get them, which they have not done. -

Yeah, I'll be happy with IU being up 2 at the break in the Kohl Center anytime. -
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 25, 2012 -> 04:25 PM) PNC bought out National City three years ago. I had originally opened by NC account in the summer of 2007. I still have my original NC checkbook, that's how infrequently I write checks. Judging by the number I'm on, I've written fewer than 20 checks in about 4.5 years.

I know this means pretty much zero, but interesting nonetheless that they slate Cody Zeller to go second overall after his sophomore year. http://www.nbadraft.net/2013mock_draft I envision him leaving after his junior year (but will have completed his bachelors), and being drafted around 10 or so. -
Advantage of going to a Catholic law school (even though you're not Catholic, or religious at all, anymore): It's much easier to justify drinking an entire bottle of wine by yourself in one night while (ostensibly) reading Con Law. Now I know why the 3Ls say at least half of us (1Ls) will become alcoholics.

Bahaha I loved Biden's reaction after the Lincoln quote. He wasn't sure whether to clap or not.

On its face, keeping elected officials from holding stock in companies in industries they impact would be incredibly hard to implement. Also, taking (some) enforcement away from the SEC? I like.

QUOTE (SuperSteve @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 08:55 PM) I love watching Biden and Boehner's faces. For the record too, I'm a big fan of the VP's tie. That is a nice tie. Boehner just looks bored the whole time, which is the same as last year.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 08:46 PM) People on notice, doubling down, put that bill on my desk and Ill sign it. Hes like a catch phrase machine. No bailouts, no handouts, no copouts!

Some rule should be instituted where Anthony Davis can't play in the NBA unless he gets rid of the unibrow. -
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 03:07 PM) It's 3.5 right now, at least at UIllinois. For both the consulting and accounting arms? I can't remember if it was different for each. It might have been that fall postings were 3.5, and any spring postings were 3.7
-
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 01:55 PM) That couldn't be less true in a lot of areas. I know if you don't have an X GPA and you went into my profession, you'd have zero chance working for one of the top 4 firms in my industry. Yeah, when I was looking at internships/jobs in college, so about 2008-2010, the cutoff for E&Y (and the rest of the Big 4, but I think E&Y recruited Kelley the most) was at least 3.5, sometimes 3.7.
-
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 01:02 PM) I'd make cap gains zero unless you fall into the top 2 tax brackets. Even at the 25-28%, that's squarely in the "middle class." Interesting point. I'm assuming there's a chart somewhere that correlates these percentages and income, that would make it easier to evaluate NorthSide's question
-
QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 12:41 PM) The problem is getting anything from Texas back up to the north suburbs Get someone from the board to do it.

Good teams win and lose as a team, end of story. That's not to say Williams isn't the MOST responsible, but to blame it all on him would be unfair (not saying people here are doing that, I've just seen it in various places around the inner tubes). -
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 07:56 PM) Also impossible to value "goodwill". Yet managerial accounting let's us do that. Yippee

Doesn't seem to be serious, or at least not-serious as a stroke can be.
