  1. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 7, 2011 -> 05:42 PM) There are a lot of idiots out there that care about any number of retarded things. These are probably the same people who buy up all of the celebrity gossip magazines, check TMZ every few minutes, and can't get enough Dancing With The Stars or whatever drivel is being shoved down our throats. Michael Jackson was a pedophile that luckily had the money to get away with it. I don't care if his doctor killed him by throat-f***ing him to death. I don't care how he met his end, and I certainly don't care what happens to the guy who did it. Nobody should. Thanks for that absolutely fantastic mental image.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 7, 2011 -> 08:21 AM) Which is funny, because his main complaint is freedoms. I'd love to see his reaction to his rights in Mexico as an immigrant. He'll become a cartel boss.
  3. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Nov 7, 2011 -> 12:22 PM) UNC-Michigan State game might get rained out. http://www.weather.com/weather/wxdetail/USCA0982?dayNum=4 It's a ship. Sail it somewhere that's warm and sunny.
  4. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 6, 2011 -> 12:46 PM) Yeah, unless you think somebody is in immediate danger, you notify your first-line supervisor first and give him a chance to deal with it, but at some point there needed to be a follow-up conversation where Joe told his boss either you get the cops involved or I will, and that clearly didn't happen. Right, that's what I'm saying. You have to notify your supervisor and you all figure out what to do (which should start with "Call the cops"). The problem arises when the supervisor (or the AD's supervisor, etc.) doesn't call the police. Is the onus back on Paterno? Everyone? I'd say everyone (which obviously includes Paterno).
  5. QUOTE (zenryan @ Nov 5, 2011 -> 08:02 PM) So which is worse? Tressel finds out he has players selling things to a shady tattoo shop and gets fired for not notifying the proper people on what was going down. or Paterno finding out a former coach of his just sexually assualted a young boy and instead of calling law enforcement, he calls his AD. You could definitely make an argument Paterno should have called the police or something when he realized the AD wasn't going to, but the AD is absolutely the first person he should have notified. No question.
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 5, 2011 -> 08:46 PM) What a s*** game, until I saw how Nebraska was playing. I like that QB for IU, good arm and nice touch. Yeah, I've been quite pleased with Roberson so far.
  7. It's really weird to see someone you know (one of Northwestern's starting OLs) on TV every Saturday. Even though a lot of people know someone like that, it doesn't make it any less strange.
  8. Wow, Alexander Webb practically cut Braxton Miller in half on that hit.
  9. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 4, 2011 -> 12:12 AM) I love slave rape. What are you, commies? You know what they say -- "From each according to his deep 18th century pockets, to each according to his fetishes."
  10. QUOTE (Felix @ Nov 3, 2011 -> 11:51 PM) I mean, who doesn't love songs about raping slaves? Aw man, you took my joke.
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 3, 2011 -> 08:27 PM) The two youngest teams in the conference shall meet and make many mistakes. Seriously I am excited just because I think Braxton needs a porous defense to work against so he can improve his passing. Also Carlos Hyde is back at the #2 spot since Hall is hurt, Rod Smith moved to LB and Berry is suspended. This is a classic trap game though so I feel like it will be close for most of the game with OSU handing off repeatedly. Maaaaybe. But if you want a porous defense for Miller, here's your chance. He's guaranteed at least two 80-Yard-TDs-On-Broken-Coverage (in addition to the other 250 yards he'll throw for). See, I still have this weird feeling (which, in actuality, might just be a forlorn hope) that IU will shock everyone and convincingly win a game this year. Like, will randomly just beat a team by two touchdowns, and then go back to being sucktastic. But, like I said, it's probably a forlorn hope.
  12. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 3, 2011 -> 07:22 PM) I thought NU's defense was terrible, but last week proved that Indiana is on another tier. It wasn't just the consistently wide open receivers either, they let the highly mediocre Jacob Schmidt run for 110 yards on 15 carries. That was a truly pitiful display of "defense" on both sides. You have no idea. It's transcended "so bad it's hilarious" and is just absolutely horrendous. IU's had a terrible defense for a long, long time (possibly forever), but this is impressive even by our standards. I'm hoping that, since most of the players are pretty young, they'll get better over the next few years, along with some better recruits, hopefully (though why better recruits would want to play on a defense this bad is an incredibly good question).
  13. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Nov 3, 2011 -> 12:54 PM) No way, it's been about a month since we thought we had a real shot. Both his parents graduated from Purdue, with his mom being an All American guard on their womens team. Couple that with IU already using the oversign by signing 5 guys next week, there's just too much working agianst them. Still, IU pulls in a top 5 class with 2 five star players. Nothing to be ashamed of. I'd say it's been way longer than a month. I still think he ends up at Mich St.
  14. Rock, you ready to watch a laughably bad IU team in the "Battle of the True Freshmen QBs?" Our offense is actually playing pretty well lately (Tre Roberson and Stephen Houston are forming a solid backfield), but our defense is seriously the worst FBS defense I've ever seen. I'll say our offense surprises a few people and actually does decently against your vaunted defense, but we still can't stop anything. tOSU 55 IU 27
  15. Aaaaand here's History of Rap, Part 3 from Fallon and Timberlake. I'm about to run so I can't watch it now, but considering the awesomeness of the first two, I have high hopes.
  16. I don't think Hurt was about drugs, at least in the spirit Cash sang about it anyway. I'm not familiar enough with Reznor's original version to comment on that. I think my favorite would have to be Charley Patton's rendition of "Spoonful" though. Howlin Wolf's version is pretty good, too. I also like someone's mention of Third Eye Blind. It is funny that few seem to realize that song is entirely about having tons of sex after getting high off crystal meth.
  17. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Oct 30, 2011 -> 12:02 PM) Similar to saying George Harrison is the most talented of the Beatles. Come on now, everyone knows it was Ringo. "Octopus's Garden" was f***ing brilliant.
  18. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Oct 30, 2011 -> 12:06 PM) Also, Curren$y's Breakfast. If nothing else for the MTV censorship of the video. Get More: Curren$y, Sucker Free, Full Episodes Haha, that's awesome.
  19. Jefferson, followed closely by J-Mad.
  20. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 05:55 PM) Zevon?!!? If so, then you and me both, but that would be more for during the service. For the recessional it would have to be Party For the Rest of the Night from the same album. Recessional might be that...or Dirty Life and Times. That has a bit of a "have fun" vibe to me. But seriously, "Keep Me in Your Heart" is one of the most achingly beautiful songs ever written (along with Ray LaMontagne's Jolene...for some reason I consider them very similar songs in tone if not subject matter), and perfectly sums up my thoughts on that subject.
  21. QUOTE (farmteam @ Sep 24, 2011 -> 02:48 AM) I'll eat crow if this doesn't happen, but I bet every team I listed has a better B1G record than Illinois. I was curious to see if my prediction is holding up at all roughly halfway through. The teams I listed were: Michigan (2-1) Ohio St. (1-2) Nebraska (2-1) Iowa (2-1) Penn St. (4-0) Wisconsin (2-1) Illinois is 2-2. It's a little lopsided since Illinois has played 4 games, and all of the above teams except for Penn St. have only played 3.
  22. I didn't know this about Steve Jobs, but it's kind of amusing.
  23. QUOTE (G&T @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 07:17 AM) I assume it's a reference to the bridge collapse? I frequently drive over the bridge they built to replace the one that collapsed. It's still kind of eerie -- partly because it's so obviously new and whatnot, partly because you know what happened there.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 27, 2011 -> 11:20 AM) I want it played at my funeral. Keep Me In Your Heart is the most obvious (but still awesome) choice for me.
  25. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 24, 2011 -> 10:05 PM) Yes rly, unless I've mistaken you for another poster but I'm infallible so I know that didn't happen. It's like you're the Pope.
