The stadium is owned by the Illinois Sports Authority, or something like that.

Where's Valido at? I haven't been paying as much attention as I should be.

Let's not have a rehash of the college thread.... You can't really blame security for doing their job, though. What if they get in trouble from their bosses because they let a few 19 year olds drink in the lot?

I was actually happy when I saw Giambi was going to try it. Oops. -

I turn on the game and the first words I hear are "Devin Hester." Needless to say I was confused. -
QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 22, 2008 -> 12:01 PM) Clerks was in my top 10 for sure...top 5 if I recall correctly (probably not). I saw Mallrats first and liked it. Then I had to see Clerks and absolutely luved it. All of his other movies have been pretty crappy... Dogma's pretty solid.

I feel the time is ripe for another lyrics thread.

Have a good one, Jas!

IU in the midst of a 9 game losing streak, including getting swept by Penn State last weekend, who going into the weekend had been tied for last (with IU and Iowa, whom the Hoosiers lost 3 of 4 to the weekend before).

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 05:43 PM) I may very well have taken a field trip in structural geology to the same fault. I think it's pretty much the only one in Indiana. No, a foot of displacement along a fault is not a lot. Most of the ones that drive even moderately sized earthquakes have displacement on the order of miles overall (because they've broken and moved more than once). Most of the faults that produce these large quakes in that area are fairly deeply buried and don't outcrop well at the surface, even though some of their effects (Hills, changes in dip, etc.) may be. Well, the one we went to was on 446 (a little south of Lake Monroe), in a stretch where they apparently blasted through the rock to build the road.
-
Ah, thanks for clearing that up. I took a class on Earthquakes last semester, and we went and looked at a fault (Mt. Carmel maybe? Does that sound right?), and it had a dip slip of a foot or so, I think. Is that a lot, or no?
-
Balta, all the quakes here are intraplate earthquakes, right?

So I'm thinking about learning to play the guitar. I don't need anything really good, I've never played before, I'm more concerned about the price at this point. What's a reasonable price for an acoustic guitar? I've seen some deals for $100 (including bag and tuner). Is that decent?

He should get one for helping get Navarro off this team.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 11:56 PM) How the f*** is Boston touring now that Brad Delp is dead?? Call it a career already. I was actually wondering the same thing.

I was looking at the lineup, and it's pretty decent. Has anyone ever been there, and is it worth it? http://www.rock-fest.com/index.cfm

Cougar shot and killed within Chicago city limits

Is it bad that when I first saw the title I thought John Mellencamp got shot in Chicago? -
I just got Let Your Dim Light Shine (Soul Asylum), Conspiracy of One (Offspring), and 14:59 (Sugar Ray) today. Hooray for 90s music.

I've always thought baseball had the best rule -- you can go after high school, but if you don't, you need to wait three more years. -
QUOTE(Reddy @ Apr 5, 2008 -> 01:03 AM) Has anyone ever told you you look like a white Alfonso Ribeiro?

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 4, 2008 -> 01:28 AM) http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...514/1004/SPORTS Gordon going pro. The end of what as, as expected, a glorious era for him in Bloomington. There's a shocker. In all honesty, IU fan or not, I think he has too many kinks to work out to go pro yet. That said, if you're that young and can get that much money, it's hard to blame him for taking it, especially considering he could get injured and whatnot if he stays. Not likely, but possible. -
QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 3, 2008 -> 09:54 AM) Has the Pony Express stopped running? They all have issues, but seriously, they are all amazing. Send this half way across the globe in 24 hours please. Seriously. I've always wanted to see the Postal Service and other delivery services operate, it fascinates me.

QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 12:37 PM) This entire discussion about Crean>Weber is ridiculous. Crean has done nothing to warrant the god-like status people in this thread are giving him. Again, his one good year he had Dwayne Wade. Dwayne f'n Wade. You mean kinda like how Weber's Final Four run came with Deron Williams and Luther Head? And I haven't seen much in this thread in terms of Crean vs. Weber, the Weber stuff has been all Marquette vs. Illinois.
