  1. I like it in the sense that it's a lot better than I thought we could 24 hours ago, because after Bennett I had no idea how far we'd fall. The near lack of tourney success scares me as well as the fact that he's not always been the best recruiter, but it's a solid hire. Also of note is a line from a response by AJ Ratliff to the IDS: "They’re losing five starters, with no team, he’s a good enough coach to come in with all that going in." I know it's highly suspected that Gordon will leave, but it's based mostly on that -- everyone expects it will happen. However, one would think Ratliff would have a little more info than most about the situation.
  2. Not so fast.... http://blogs.heraldtimesonline.com/iusp/?p=1864 It's an awesome feeling to know that it's unlikely your school will field any sort of Big Ten contender during your four years there.
  3. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Mar 30, 2008 -> 11:54 PM) Not so sure about Miller. Apparently there could be large buyout issues with him. I don't buy that for one second. If they can get a donor to cough up $550,000 at the drop of a hat to replace Sampson, they can get a few to donate the 2 million needed to buyout Miller. That should be a non issue, especially since I think he's by far the best option at the moment.
  4. Bennett said No to IU. Apparently they've essentially told Miller the job's his if he wants it, but I'm doubting he takes it. I'd be ecstatic if he did though. http://blogs.heraldtimesonline.com/iusp/?p=1858
  5. Interesting article. Not sure how much I agree with it though. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/15074-N...hould_Go-280308
  6. Because of Wisconsin, my bracket now has no chance of doing anything.
  7. Well, he was committed to tOSU then backed out, so we'll see. At least there should hopefully be enough time for the new IU coach, whoever it may be, to woo him.
  8. I like the idea of moving down and grabbing one of the OL + another offensive piece, either WR or RB.
  9. Was Bourgeois released, or demoted? Or waived/DFA'd with the attention to going to Charlotte, whatever the case is?
  10. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Mar 22, 2008 -> 12:56 AM) /all respectable IU fans look away (so all but 2 of you) Eat s*** IU. Glad to see the mess Sampson started ended this way. Sadly, I don't think it has ended yet. And 101, I think it's a definite stretch to say Purdue is more talented than IU. I think IU is far more talented, but Purdue did a much better job of doing what's important -- winning games. I do fear the next few years though, what with the talent Purdue has, and what Illinois will have. Also, I will say this...Armon Bassett is going to surprise a lot of people next year. EDIT: Assuming Bassett is still here next year, of course.
  11. Yeah...I'm a solid 2/7 so far. Although, I had all those winners losing in the next round so it's no biggie.
  12. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Mar 19, 2008 -> 09:15 AM) This is, without a doubt, the dumbest move this franchise has ever made. Todd Ritchie says hi.
  13. The Hoosiers are 7-7 so far, and took third in the Pepsi/Johnny Quik tournament.
  14. It would be bad for me if Fullerton wins, as I have Wisconsin in the Final Four.
  15. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 04:41 PM) On a side note, congrats to Wisconsin. They have solid fans and a solid team along with their solid coach, so much that even an often bitter guy like myself can't hate. That's true, I've found it very hard to hate Wisconsin. If watching Brian Butch bank in a 3 pointer can't do it, I'm not sure anything can.
  16. QUOTE(The Bones @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 04:21 PM) Good luck to Wisconsin, Purdue, Michigan State, and Ohio State (if they make it) in the tournament. Represent the Big Ten well. Indiana's not allowed to, then?
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 14, 2008 -> 10:47 PM) Well, if there ever was such a thing as a team in disarray, it's IU. Or the Bulls, take your pick. They really need to right that ship and rebuild from the ground up next year. This is just embarrassing. Agreed. In addition, I like Minnesota, so now I'm rooting for them to pull it off. I'm also expecting a 6 seed in the tourney.
  18. Even if IU beats Minnesota (It's a toughie), I might give Illinois the edge in the semi, it would at least be 50-50. We've been playing awful recently, and we need to win the BTT to have some good momentum.
