  1. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Feb 12, 2017 -> 08:16 PM) I feel like this is probably nothing still. Soto is basically guaranteed a spot on the roster (barring injury) so they probably figured now was a good time to outright a catcher. You could be right about this. Seeing reports that a trade is highly unlikely
  2. QUOTE (heirdog @ Feb 10, 2017 -> 11:28 PM) Pedro Severino from Nats in a Robertson deal Ok, I would do that deal but there would seem to be more pieces involved or other moves planned. Must be happening soon
  3. I would lean more towards a FA signing then a trade
  4. QUOTE (Sleepy Harold @ Feb 10, 2017 -> 09:18 PM) Bruce Levine @MLBBruceLevine now White Sox outright C Kevan Smith (Triple A) Roster at 39 . Is a trade in the near future Had to put this here, it made me LOL A trade? Who is available at catcher? We need AJ back
  5. Why would you believe this prediction in February and never believe a prediction for a winning season,? I don't get wrapped up in this stuff
  6. Why do we even field a team? Think positive folks
  7. QUOTE (Con te Giolito @ Jan 29, 2017 -> 01:39 AM) I hope the type of reaction they are seeing to the new acquisitions at Soxfest assuages any fears that the fanbase wont tolerate a rebuild. Good thing all teams are even during the off season. Wait till after our first loss
  8. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jan 28, 2017 -> 03:56 PM) .@SieraSantos reports from #SoxFest2017: Hahn says another trade may be on the horizon, but he wouldn't specify beyond that. #InTheLoop https://t.co/BAdRFCIJdk https://twitter.com/CSNInTheLoop/status/825205627890700288 Calm down. I asked Ms Santos to report any trade rumors
  9. QUOTE (Tony @ Jan 27, 2017 -> 10:59 PM) Todd Frazier says he wants to be a part of the White Sox rebuild. Wants to be a leader for the young guys. #soxfest2017 Per Chuck. I've said this all along, would be cool with a short extension for Frazier during this 2-3 year window i would love to see Frazier stay with the Sox as well as Abreu
  10. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jan 26, 2017 -> 09:46 PM) Let's do over/under: 47.5 You might be the winner with that number. I am going with 25-30 before someone posts another rumor
  11. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jan 26, 2017 -> 09:46 PM) Let's do over/under: 47.5 You might be the winner with that number. I am going with 25-30 before someone posts another rumor
  12. QUOTE (Con te Giolito @ Jan 26, 2017 -> 05:50 PM) That is one massive assumption for a pitcher who is very bad. Robertson is actually is a very good pitcher. Don't undervalue a player like him, or others we have. A rebuild, a re-tooling or whatever we are doing takes time and we don't need to make trades out of deperation
  13. taking bets on how many opages this grows to
  14. The only reason to think we should ask for a lower return for Q is panic setting in. We don't have to trade Quintana and most certainly not for a less return then what he is worth
  15. QUOTE (WBWSF @ Jan 21, 2017 -> 03:02 PM) They can call it a rebuild, I call it a train wreck. They have nobody in the farm system to help their every day lineup at 3B, Catcher, Dh, and all 3 outfield positions. This so called REBUILD has all the potential of lasting for many years. Apparently we are doomed
  16. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jan 15, 2017 -> 10:38 PM) Matian, hopefully. I know a lot of people don't want him because he's young and not due to come to the bigs till 2020 but anytime you can maybe get a guy that's draws comparison to Miggy is a guy you target no matter when his eta is. And who knows he could develope faster than anticipated, but if we trade with Braves he is definitely someone I want back as part of the package. Careful. Remember Avisail Garcia was supposed to be Little Miggy
  17. QUOTE (Con te Giolito @ Jan 14, 2017 -> 08:22 PM) 30+ year old players are not as bankable as they used to be. If I thought Todd Frazier was going to repeat the same season he had last year and I were a GM with a hole at 1b or 3b I'd be buying on him. I wouldn't give up what the White Sox gave up a year ago, but I'd be interested. But I'm not convinced Frazier will get better or even stay the same. Better off taking my chances with a cheap FA or, better yet, an internal option and reevaluating at the deadline. Sox will be able to dump Frazier and Melky then without much effort, but obviously the Sox would prefer to deal them now to free up PA's for guys part of the long term plan. what is better to you? Not to keep a back nd forth going here on different players, but what do we realistically think we have to see in performance?
  18. I see some conversation starting elsewhere about the validity of some stats particularly WAR
  19. QUOTE (Con te Giolito @ Jan 12, 2017 -> 12:04 AM) I would take that Frazier trade back in a heartbeat. Some.folks just like to hate on everything Chisox
  20. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 09:08 PM) But bruce is a run producering bat. As you see from the white sox stand point having Melky and having lack of running producing bats have seriously hurt the white sox offense. Again melky is a complimentary piece to a line up. Say you add melky to bostons lineup would work cause they have good bats to go along with him I am not certain I am following your analysis of Cabrera. There were time Melky was the only one really hitting the ball. He is a line drive hitter not a homerun type of guy, but he still has some pop.
  21. The desperate types are at it again. How many quality MLB players should we package to get a couple minor league prospects? I know we don't make ten trades a day to satisfy the insatiable insanity of the rebuild advocates, but we hold the cards and you don't discard them with quality returns for each. We also have to field a team remember
  22. After you read some of these posts, which go to great pains to bash Sox players like Abreu, Frazier, Quintana etc you come away wondering why we even field a team
