  1. I would be surprised if there was an issue with this at all. You always hear of infielders and outfielders trying to do things to fake out the opposition. I thought it was pretty cool that Lee fell for it. Maybe there is one of those unwritten rules, but I have never heard of it.
  2. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ May 22, 2005 -> 05:47 PM) Dye at 1B? Interesting. I would think a healthy Ross Gload would be an option. As well as, letting Everett walk and keeping Dye in RF. The OF next year will be Pods, Rowand and Anderson. The IF will be Crede, Uribe, Taguchi and Konerko with Pierz behind the plate. Thomas will DH. The role players will change and that's what we will be looking at and you may not see Willie Harris, Carl Everett or Timo Perez with the Sox. McCarthy will probably be here as a starter meaning we may have a trade involving one of the present starters.
  3. QUOTE(upnorthsox @ May 22, 2005 -> 03:59 PM) If the rotation holds true it'll be Contreras, El Duque, and Garland in that order. I will be very happy to see El Duque and Garland, but I wonder if it might now be McCarthy instead? I will be there for the Tues and Wed games.
  4. QUOTE(rafacosta @ May 22, 2005 -> 04:24 PM) I am! Don't be asking me for a loan Rafacosta! Are there any direct flights into Denver from Rio?
  5. I was looking for this thread. I agree that there was no apparent reason for pulling McCarthy and especially bringing in Vicaino. The other poor move was on the part of Uribe who couldn't do more than pop up in the infield with the runner on 3rd and 1 out.
  6. QUOTE(mrzo2733 @ May 22, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) I couldn't agree with you more. I think it just feels right that Frank should be back and help this team. After watching yesterday's game I'm convinced there's something special to this team. And I want Frank to be a part of it. After 20 games in the minors, I really think Frank will get the cobwebs out and be ready. And just think of the fire the Big Hurt is going to bring with him when he takes the field with the Sox again. The man could singlehandly raise our offesne and team as a whole to the next level. He is a super star.
  7. I took the debit card and the check book away from my wife and bought tickets to June 7th and 8th in Denver when the Sox play the Rockies. I am as excited as a Billy Goat with 2... Well you know what I mean I have tickets to the right of home plate and just a bit up from the lowest level. It is about a nine hour drive, but worth it. I am hoping the Big Hurt is back by that series, but no matter it will be great. Anyone else out West here that is going? Anyone got it figured out what our starting rotation might be for the Rockies series?
  8. QUOTE(whitesox91403 @ May 22, 2005 -> 03:17 AM) This may not be the thread for this, but does this feel like The 2003 Yankee series and Neal Cotts all over again? In this instance garland could be pitching for the sweep, instead a rookie is going. Someone please ease my mind. It's just another game, but this time we have a highly touted rookie on the mound making his debut. It will be fun and that's what it's all about. I am really looking forward to the opportunity to watch the game on WGN and see Brandon. Hope for the best and have faith in the team to do what it has been doing and that's find ways to win.
  9. The team needs a balance of veterans and youngsters, etc. What Frank Thomas can and does bring to this team by his leadership & his presence on the field can't be measured. He is a professional hitter, who will take the walk, go to the opposite field, hit with power, etc, and all that does is make the line up that much stronger. I think it will also help the likes of Paulie, Carl and Jermaine, as well as others. Frank Thomas deserves to be back in a Chisox uniform and helping this team to the championship. The man is headed to the Hall of Fame and I want it to be in a Sox uniform.
  10. I see Conreras got Patteron on 3 pitches for a K. He must have been bringing it?
  11. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ May 21, 2005 -> 07:05 PM) That pitch just missed Uribe's head.. Zambie has hit two Sox today and tries to hit Uribe in the head... Any warning from the umps?
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ May 21, 2005 -> 07:04 PM) You suck Carl I can't wait to get the Big Hurt back in the line up
  13. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 21, 2005 -> 07:02 PM) ....Or maybe the fact that we haven't scored any runs? Contreras has been awesome today. I dunno why you're b****ing at him like he's been bad... Your right he has pitched great. No b****ing here about him. Just pointing out the obvious difference in offense
  14. I see those 3 SB's for the flubs and we have a picked off first. Ageed that's the difference
  15. Zambrana has thrown a lot of pitches whereas Contreras has been frugal. Maybe that will help us here soon?
  16. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ May 21, 2005 -> 05:49 PM) Pod shows some glove work and gets the flyball by Aramis. Some of those baseball experts claimed we didn't have good defence, but I disagree strongly. It has been one of our strengths and supports great pitching
  17. QUOTE(doUrememberwhen @ May 21, 2005 -> 05:46 PM) Well it's official bottom line on espn news says sox put Duque on dl shoulder I thought after his last start that he had some physical problems. I will be watching tomorrow on WGN and am counting on McCarthy to debut. Looking forard to seeing him pitch.
  18. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 21, 2005 -> 05:45 PM) He gawn. Inning over Zambrano with no hits through 2 Good to see Pods and Willie and AJ wait out Zambrano too bad Aaron, Paulie and Carl had bad ABs Patience is a virtue! Wait the guy out and make him pitch to you. Uribe is trying to bang everyhting out of the park and is not looking good.
  19. We can beat this guy today no doubt, if we play our game. 2 alks and a deep fly in my mind means it's just a matter of time.
  20. I was hoping Fox might have the Sox on national TV, but of course it's the Mets and Yankees with Chicago as their backup. Best team in baseball and it just goes to show you that it's an East coast network that makes all the decisions. Anyway there's soxtalk!
  21. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 21, 2005 -> 01:24 PM) Hermanson has an ERA of 0.00. That's ineffective? The writer of this article needs to find a new profession. I am sure their "expert" wroter is referring to Shingo and maybe Vizcaino. Hermy obviously has been great. Politte also and for the most part Marte.
  22. QUOTE(chisoxtime @ May 21, 2005 -> 02:21 AM) Thats true. Just a thought That's what you get for thinking around here!
  23. If in fact El Dookie is hurt or something, which may account for his last start on only 2 plus innings, it would mean they expect Brandon to stay for awhile. Otherwise all they had to do is move Garland up a day as he had his usual rest between starts. I likey El Dookie and hope this isn't serious. One thing though is that if in fact McCarthy pitches Sunday I can watch on WGN out here.
  24. The Sox changed the start time of their Wed, June 1, game vrs the Angels to accomodate ESPN Wed Night Baseball. Sox are catching on. Nice to be able to see them on national tv
