This is a very dissapointing display by our hitters. Once again a runner in scoring position and in this case no outs and he is stranded. -

Shoe gets the GIDP one inning too late. He's at about 100 pitches +- so I bet he's out in the 6th -

Ozzie leaving the Shoe in there for another go at it. He must want that quality start. -

Maybe, but then our pitching will blow it again probably. They have not been very impressive the last few games. -

You would think this Belliard dude is Babe Ruth or something. Why is it that that one guy on every team haunts us in a game or series? Not a pretty inning at all. -

I think you are right on with that analysis. He can play three IF positions but not necessarily pretty. He is still valuable to us though and hopefully improves on the "D" -

Did Uribe make a good play on it? -

That's what I meant. We start to get runners on maybe and if he stays sharp they will be eliminated with extreme prejudice. (That sounded pretty heavy doesn't it?) -

Davis getting a lot of ground out outs. That doesn't bode well for our usual GIDP suspects -

Good to see Show win that battle with Gerut. 8 pitch at bat and a called 3rd strike -

I see Belliard walks. I guess our pitchers want to make sure he gets on base everytime up? -

Thanks Hammerhead for posting today. I am just logging on... I usually go back and forth keeping up with MLB gameday and here. -
I thank you for your specifics. If that is what Koch did than I think he showed he has the stuff to win and/or close. Maybe! All you see in the box score is the 2 walks and a wild pitch, etc, but hearing how he K'd a batter helps. However, and I know this is only one game but it seems to happen to us a lot, you don't win when starters give up 11 and 10 hits (Buerhle and Garland respectively) in a game and you don't hold leads when relief pitchers give up homers and lead off walks or can't get the first batter they face out. I think that is the thing that bothers me the most it's the fact you bring in a relief pitcher and they can't get that first batter out. I trust our pitchers will start coming bearing down and come back today for the win.

A lot of people complain about the unbalanced schedule and when you think about fans having the opportunity to see players from the Yanks, etc, and we only have an April series the entire year it does raise the ire. I guess the idea that you play more within your division becasue you are competing against those teams for the playoff spot makes sense, but 6 games against the yanks and 18 versus the Twinks is far to out of whack.

Has anyone else never been to a Sox home game?
elrockinMT replied to ChiSox_Sonix's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The Sox have always been my team, but my ability to see the Pale Hose is limited. The first time I did was in 1977, and the "Winnin Ugly on the Southside" team was playing a 4 game series versus the then California Angels at Anaheim. I was on vacation in the LA area and took in all 4 games. I saw Zisk and Gamble and Orta as well as Bobby Bonds on the Angels. in 1987 I was on vacation and stopped in Chicago and saw the Sox at Old Comiskey. That was a thrill. They played the Brewers and lost 7-4. Kenny Williams hit a homer and I remember Baines pinch hitting for Fisk in the 9th. I have also seen games in 1998 in Colorado (Rockies versus the D-Backs) and in 2000 I was at Fenway Park to see the Red Sox beat the Twinkies. -
QUOTE Sox need to find a hip, young broadcaster who doesn't use broken English such as HE Gawn. BrandoFan Said: But I love 'he gawn'! [/whiny, tearful elaine benes] I like that "He Gawn" stuff too, but Hawk does carry on a bit to much for me. I would settle for an ld timer like Harry Caray, or (and forgive my braintoot here) that old fellow from the Tigers. Now those guys had class.

I reckon we are in a heap load of trouble pardners when we can't even write good American.

That is the essence of leadership. Chew him out for the mistake and then build him up again. He learns to play better heads up baseball. I think it will put a charge in him and that's why he is my PTC for Tuesday vrs the Tribe.

"Oh, that's cool baby." (It's as cool as ice cream and twice as smooth.)

The #5 spot and Danny Wright are issues that can be seen both ways at this time. I can't disagree with those who feel the frustration of Danny's lack of success. I don't think 5 innings is what we should expect from anybody in the #5 spot pitching wise. We should expect at least 10-12 wins from the #5 starter and Danny is 0-10 as a starter over last season and so far this season. However, I attribute his lack of success last season to the arm injury. He didn't do too badly in that last start on Saturday. He will get more chances, but if we don't see some wins pretty soon than I am all for a change. Cotts, Rausch or Diaz. I think Cotts deserves the chance to start and Rausch gets called up for bullpen duty. Kelly Wunsch just might get traded although I like him a lot. He can go one inning with the best of the lefty relievers. As an old time fence rider I knew once said, "I feel strongly both ways about this issue."

I aw that pathetic display yesterday on WGN and miss this great game tday. I got to get satelitte TV and get that MLB package. I love it...

What a comeback. This is what Championship Teams are made of! Uribe with some patience at the plate and ditto for Willie. They made it happen after Kelly came through with the hit.

No matter what happens today just to have this kind of a omeback spurred by the subs is important. Willie getting that walk after 2 strikes is huge. I didn't understand why he was trying to bunt though?
