  1. QUOTE (Scoots @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 09:33 PM) Same story every year. Great/good pitching with mediocre hitting and untimely with the inability to knock in runs, as well as lazy defense. Moncada will be such a welcome addition....and hopefully light a fire under Abreu's lethargic ass. God I'm sick of that guy...
  2. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 08:26 PM) I am more upset with the Sox anemic offense. This is simply ridiculous 0 HRs and well below the .200 for Abreu...THAT'S what's pissin me off the last couple of years.
  3. QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 08:26 PM) For the 1000th time. 1. There was NO trend that Q was heading in a negative direction. 2. None of us have any idea what was being offered. If Hahn accepted a bad package he would have been KILLED here. 3. It's his 4th start of the year. 4. He is still signed to a ridiculous contract and has a fairly long track record of success. No GM is basing his value on one stretch. All that said, he needs to get his act together, now. agreed. that being said...I still wonder what the best offer was that Hahn turned down. Q will be fine...
  4. Stoney...people projected Kipnis at 2b...not "the Indians thought they were getting a CF..." c'mon...
  5. This is GREAT information! Thanks for putting together and posting! Gold Jerry...pure gold. One question...how many times do you have to source/copy/paste or look up how to spell Michalczewski?
  6. when is Schwarbs HOF bust gonna be ready for viewing?...just curious.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 08:31 PM) Avi responsible for another victory. This guy is MVP of baseball the first 2.5 weeks of the season. Hard to argue with that. Great win...fun to watch. I've been a huge Avi basher...but happy to eat my words if he keeps it even remotely up. Love beating the Yankees too. I all honesty...I'm enjoying watching this team play more than any Sox team in a while. No huge expectations...they just go out there and compete. That's a great testament to Rick Renteria...
  8. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 06:59 PM) Abreu is a DH for sure. pfffffffffffft......if that right now
  9. lol hawk...."if he can get it there...."
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 17, 2017 -> 06:34 PM) The rest of the Sox?They have a .220 team average. Scoring next to nothing when homers around the league are back up to steroid era levels. worded poorly...but you get the point...but yeah you are correct. However...he's supposed to be the big gun on this team...he needs to show up.
  11. regardless....anytime he wants to join the rest of the Sox this season that'd be nice. btw...what's the situation with his kid? Is he here now full time? That was the excuse last year....
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 15, 2017 -> 12:16 AM) Because he's nasty, unhittable (right now). He's gonna have 7 blown saves by the all star break, you wait. Personally I'm not a rebuild guy. I'm saying IF THE SOX are serious about this rebuild crap, you deal him now. Some team can get him for the whole season and right now he looks like the greatest reliever of all time. We've seen this before. He is excellent. But he also will lose it. He blows a lot of saves traditionally and the blown saves are coming. So many teams need a closer. Trade him now for 4-5 prospects, 1-2 prize prospects. nobody's trading right now....not even realistic at this point.
  13. how ridiculous would that be if both Avi and Davidson kept this pace up for the most part of the year. Nice to see both of them having success early on....
  14. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 14, 2017 -> 10:54 PM) I am finding this team intriguing. Wish Abreu and Frazier would play better. yes and yes....
  15. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 10:30 PM) I 'm glad Jones didn't completely melt down because I would've seriously second guessed the decision to take Swarzak out after he looked sharp. I already questioned not pinch running for Soto yesterday as soon as he got on late in the game. No sense worrying about being down to your last catcher at that point 2 questionable managerial calls this early in the season wouldn't be good and I am not even counting letting May hit at least one time he shouldn't have. I'm not even REMOTELY questioning any managerial moves yet...guess I'm still just giddy over having a someone with a pulse in the dugout managing this team. btw...I had zero problem with him PR for Davidson instead of Soto...with only one out...IMO it was the smarter call. But that's just my 2¢.... Overall I'm pretty pleased with what I've seen so far. The pitching has been fantastic. Hitting is it's usual April meh. Saladino has been great. Avi...PLEASE keep it up. Lot's of positives. Again...I love having a pulse in the dugout instead of a festering cold sore. ...
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 07:46 PM) Another Abreu blunder, my god shocker I know....
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 07:00 PM) They need to use technology to call balls and strikes. They did it in a minor league game last year, and didn't have one complaint. I really wish they would. IF you're going to start reviewing all this phantom touch of second bs on a dp...screw it...make it across the board. That's what pisses me off...they spend 10 minutes mulling over something ridiculous...yet home plate umps like this jackass dictate an outcome.
  18. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 06:52 PM) IF Kahnle could thow strikes and stop walking batters..... dude was struck out...that asshat was so inconsistent behind the plate today it was almost comical. Yeah...Kahnle gave up the hit...but when you have to put it on a tee. Again...not that it matters this season...but still.
  19. this is two days in a row I've seen asshole home plate umps dictate who wins a game with their bulls*** ball and strike calls. Unbelievable....then they review phantom tag bulls***. Not this it really matters in this season...but complete crap.
  20. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Apr 8, 2017 -> 09:40 PM) In the sense that since this is a tank / rebuilding year...yes. Let them bring a kid up to see how he'll do. You already know what Garcia's going to give you. Mark I don't think that's necessarily true at all. Avi is still relatively young...and honestly his skill set is worth keeping him around for another year or two. He's got ridiculous skill...and some players don't really put it all together for a while. I know this might sound a little cheezy and all...but didn't they announce he was having a little boy the other day?...that he's an expectant father? You'd be surprised how that effects people IMO. I'm one of Avi's bigger critics overall...but I think it's because he has ridiculous talent and hasn't put it all together yet. I'd give him every opportunity this year....what do you have to lose? Last year he lost out because of Eaton's ridiculousness in RF...this year he really doesn't have to concern himself with losing his job...just getting better. That's just my 2¢...
  21. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 8, 2017 -> 08:16 PM) Why not Melky? He's been pretty consistent for us. probably one of the most underrated players in the AL if you wanna know the truth of the matter...if not in all of baseball. Shocked teams in contention last year didn't come calling...
  22. nice win! I'm squelching the urge to post the Major League clip..."these guys aren't too f******* bad...."
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 8, 2017 -> 06:32 PM) This. Garcia is probably garbage, but our depth chart is even worse. meh...not sure he's garbage. He plays like garbage a ton of times...but the dude has some obvious tools. If he put it all together and stayed consistent he'd be a very solid and valuble RF...definitely has All-Star talent...just hasn't seemed to put it all together yet. Sox just keep hanging on to him for those reasons. Would love to see him put it all together....not holding my breath tho.
