  1. The funny thing is I was about to post "good speed aboard" But I didn't mean it
  2. Little taste of their own medicine with the SB in that inning
  3. If you have, say, $150 remaining at your last game....do you splurge?
  4. Someone will want to call for a changeup to get these lefties.
  5. There are few things I'd trade Viciedo for at this point. Trading him just to pay Greinke 20 million a year is probably not something I'd do. What's more likely to happen? -Viciedo has a May-esque hot streak that involves him literally placing the team on his back for 7-21 days -Acquired starter outperforms the player he replaces by 5 or more wins I feel like the former. I'd give up a lot for a Greinke type of guy, but in a pennant race I'm not surrendering one of our top run producers. Toss in the fact that he is immensely talented, young, and clearly not yet at his peak...yeah I'm keeping Dayan.
  6. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jul 17, 2012 -> 02:53 PM) Seems like he's just trolling other teams in the NBA (Bulls/Knicks). Hope we don't sign Asik simply because of that lol You know there's some chance they could have shared this info with Omer -- ie "this offer only applies if we don't sign Lin"
  7. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jul 17, 2012 -> 11:20 AM) Phil Rodgers thinks the Brewers want Floyd for Grienke. That still makes them a short a starter. O RLY? QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 17, 2012 -> 11:22 AM) Done, in a heartbeat. ^^^^ QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jul 17, 2012 -> 12:19 PM) Oh yeah. So your could have a rotation of Peavy, Sale, Greinke, Humber, and Quintana. If Danks comes back, he takes the place of Humber or Quintana if they falter. Or you have a six man rotation. Or you realize that this is all coming from Rodgers and forget about it. but seriously, if Floyd is in the deal that should save you from including another starting player on the MLB roster. Given the precarious contract situation, I wouldn't give a lot more than that.
  8. Let's not forget that the Martz scheme is very unforgiving to the o-line: 7 step drops, no help from chips, TEs, etc, predictable play calling
  9. You would think batting between Youkilis-Dunn and Rios would be just about ideal to see some good pitches because there isn't a whole lot of margin for error through that part of the lineup. This slump will have to get worse and last longer to shuffle it.
  10. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 06:39 PM) Hey guysssssssss I launched a website along with Badger and Zoom. Consider it a Grantland ripoff but more sophomoric. Flapship If you'd like to check it out and perhaps follow us on Twitter, that'd be swell. Ifyou want to write for the page which I can promise will get popular, either PM me or fill out the form on the Contact Us page. Thanks! I hit up your dealio
  11. Here's hoping Castro is the starter Weds
  12. I believe our chances of winning a WS are lower dealing Viciedo and putting Danks in LF (who at best could hit .300, but probably wouldn't knock in 25 runs the rest of the season) and having some expensive starter that will then walk make 10 starts for us. I'd rather keep our scary offense intact and hope for Danks to get healthy than miss out on the next 10 years of Viciedo or even the next few months of him. With ADA, PK, GB slumping, do you want to subtract another bat from the lineup? I think the lineup is pretty damn good but subtracting the 40+ RBI's that we'll get from Dayan the rest of the season is just making things harder for us. I'll give up anyone except players from our starting lineup/rotation (Floyd perhaps)
  13. You don't move him down in the order. You DL him.
  14. I don't think Septimo sucks. He's just a rookie facing some tough ass lefties. He should remain on the roster. Jones should have entered the game at least a batter sooner it seems, but to some extent you have to let a guy go out there and pitch. If he fails, he fails.
  15. Welcome to the sinking fastball
  16. Axelrod has the stuff to compete (I wouldn't say thrive) but he just pitches scared. As soon as there are two strikes he goes into "nothing near the zone" mode and will either walk or end up laying something in there to get beaten. He's finally tried to pitch inside today but won't do it late in the count or in a location that will draw contact in play. Key for today is staying out of 3-2 counts, it can't be automatic like that when he goes 0-2, 1-2 as often as he does.
  17. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 16, 2012 -> 11:45 AM) Mark Gonzalez was on with Mcneil/Spiegel and speculated that either Hernandez or Leesman would get the start in Boston on Wednesday night. Y U NO Castro?
  18. QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 16, 2012 -> 11:27 AM) Maybe not. But the real question is what value in prospects is worth 10 outings of the current MLB ERA leader. How many more wins does that equate to over somebody else we might run out there? Because that's all we're getting in exchange for whoever we give up. This. People are getting crazy here. I'm glad the Cubs don't need Mitchell because he's too much for Dempster anyway.
  19. Anyone else feel weird about ESPN talking about a Chicago team's drama as a breaking news story? I feel like this somehow has to be related to New York/Tebow and I don't know how yet....WHAT IS YOUR MOTIVE, ESPN?
