  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 09:15 AM) Is there interest out there for a survivor pool in the NFL? Pick one team to win every week. You can't re-use a team once you have picked them. Last person standing wins absolutely nothing. If people want to play, make a pick in this thread. If we get 10 or so, we will keep it going. Sure....i'll take the Dolphins
  2. Also, from TSN.com Does that mean Hossa is in the clear? I hope so
  3. I was never really a fan of Prior, but that was mostly because he was on the Cubs and i was jealous the Sox didn't have anyone with that kind of skill. But now, i wish him the best of luck in returning to the majors; the guy went through so many injuries, and whether it was more mental or not, I think it would be cool to see him return to baseball.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 1, 2010 -> 09:04 AM) All right place your bets place your bets place yours bets: Mannys first AB with the White Sox, Hit, Walk, or Out? Prop Bet: Does Mannys first AB produce an RBI? I agree with chw42...with Teahen batting behind him, Manny is likely to walk in his first AB, without producing a RBI
  5. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 31, 2010 -> 08:01 AM) LOL, I understand it looked bad, but its funny to go back and read this thread with everyone writing off his season. Man, that sucks about the X-Ray tech. Not cool. Bush League
  6. I'll be there; i believe the tickets are for the bleachers, if not, then a nearby section.
  7. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 26, 2010 -> 08:22 AM) Holee f*** are Cubs fans and those who cover them stupid. They seem to be convinced that Joe Girardi will leave his job as MANAGER OF THE NEW YORK YANKEES to manage the Cubs! It's the dumbest s*** I've ever heard. I don't recall anyone "quitting" their job as yankees manager in the last quarter decade... you get fired from that job. Why would he ever leave the Yanks, a team fresh off a world series and possibly headed to another, to take over the job as CUBS manager?!?! He won't. I never understood this, either. I do believe his contract is up after this year, but why wouldn't the Yankees resign him? Unless the Cubs want to give him more money, but i still don't see how he'd walk away from the star-studded roster of the Yankees to coach a failure franchise.
  8. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 26, 2010 -> 07:00 AM) What about the no trade clause? This is where i'm confused, and I'm hoping someone could clarify for me.... Manny has a no trade clause. If a team (in this case, say WAS) puts a claim on Manny, Manny can block that trade, right? So does that end the Waiver process for him? So he won't be able to make it to another team? Because it wouldn't be fair if he can block a trade to every team that claimed him, unless he really wants to go there, right?
  9. Per Rotoworld, Derrek Lee appears headed to the Braves: According to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com, Derrek Lee is "apparently willing" to accept a trade to the Braves. A baseball source tells Crasnick that the two parties are "way along in the process" on a trade, so the only question is who the Cubs will receive in return. The Braves aren't expected to give up any of their top prospects, however. A deal could be completed as soon as today. Aug. 18 - 11:42 am et
