  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 25, 2010 -> 08:12 AM) Frank is a first ballot HOF. No doubt. I was thinking more of the playoff active roster; i should have been more specific
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 25, 2010 -> 12:51 AM) My point AGAIN was Sox fans, at least on here, undervalue their own. Somebody respond to my point made in the long summary above from Game One of the WS. Which players on there do you consider great former Sox? There's no love from some of you for guys who gave you a WS ... and in contrast, f***ing Cub fans worship those chokers from '69 who finished about 10 games out after blowing the big lead to the Mets. Jenkins, Banks, Williams, Santo, Kessinger ... oh they are immortal by Flub fans. From some Sox fans on here, all ll I read is b****ing about Rowand, Dye, Garland, Crede, Pods, Uribe, et. all. They were very good players. Deal with it. If Pods hit a walkoff WS homer for the Cubs, he'd be worshiped in this city forever. He's mocked on here for getting picked off a few times last year. My god. I think you hit the nail on the head.... Sox fans "on here" see the 2005 as a team that jelled together, got the timely hits and pitching to win the World Series. The team really wasn't full of All-Stars, but more of players who nearly ALL played above their career averages in one hell of a season. However, if you talk to the "casual" Sox fans who don't visit this board, I almost guarantee you that they still think Pods, Rowand, Crede, etc are gods. As for the Jenkins/Banks/Williams love....come on dude, they're Hall of Famers; they deserve to be cherished by Cubs fans. I'm pretty sure everyone will agree that no one from the 2005 Sox team really has a chance to be a Hall of Famer.
  3. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 18, 2010 -> 11:33 PM) Toews on the other hand wants to break Malkin's playoff scoring record the way he is going. Unless I'm missing something here, I think you may be a little misinformed on Malkin. Malkin had 36 points last year (14G, 22A), which is the most since Gretzky's 40 in 92-93. However, there have been 6 occurrences where there have been more than 36; 4 are by Gretzky (surprise, surprise), with one by Lemeiux and Paul Coffey sprinkled in there. The most points ever in a playoff season? 47 by Gretzky, in only 18 games. WOW Single season scoring via NHL.com

  7. Have you guys seen the 101.9 Erik and Kathy billboards that are all over I90 and I294? I've seen 3 different ones, and each one equally wants me to punch both of them in the face.
