QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Feb 25, 2010 -> 09:07 AM) Also, we should probably enforce some sort of rule so that you can only keep players for so many years. 3 is a good number. How does the rest of the league feel on this? I think it's a very important topic we should iron out. I don't mind having a 3 year limit, but we have to make sure people stay on top of it and keep it monitored.

QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Feb 25, 2010 -> 11:06 AM) that's much more convenient than the league I played in last year.. had to have 10 or 15 starts before eligible. I had beckham and had to wait a while to slot him in at 3b I play in a Dynasty league on CBS, and the requirements are 25 starts before you become eligible at a new position. -

QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Feb 25, 2010 -> 01:29 AM) Looks nice to me.. i'd kill for that team in my money league, Gordon will be 2b eligible about 2 weeks into the season.. I think standard rule is after 10 appearances. I'm not sure how Yahoo works though. Per Yahoo rules: -

QUOTE (sircaffey @ Feb 14, 2010 -> 07:03 PM) As was I. How many keepers was it again? 2 hitters, 2 pitchers, 1 other? According to the League 2 thread, you are correct. 2 hitters, 2 pitchers, 1 wildcard. -
Dye says "crowded outfield" prolonged his slump
smalls2598 replied to winninguglyin83's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Per Rotoworld: According to Chuck Garifen of Chicago's Comcast SportsNet, free agent outifelder Jermaine Dye told Frank Thomas he's considering retirement. "That's what he told me and I told him he's crazy," Thomas said Friday. Dye has drawn very little interest on the open market this winter and is obviously frustrated. The 35-year-old hit 27 homers in 2009 and posted a .302/.375/.567 batting line over the first half of the 2009 season, but he stumbled to a .179/.293/.297 line over his final 212 at-bats. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Feb 12, 2010 -> 11:39 AM) So they will honor Frank Thomas on a day when a decent percentage of folks will be cheering for the other team.... Why not do this to sell tickets to a game against a s***ty team? I agree, it sucks that it's against the Yankees, especially because it jacks the price of the tickets up. But I just couldnt pass up missing this, and I just purchased a few tickets. Can't wait!

QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Feb 11, 2010 -> 10:20 PM) Some solid players on on that list he gave like Tommy Hanson. His team was sick last year to say the least. Pretty sure he was autopicked too, I know I was but I liked my draft. My first 9 or 10 picks were autopicked, but I was able to jump in and draft the rest of my team. Luckily, my pre-rankings worked out pretty well, and i got most the players i wanted. But getting a steal like Grienke in the middle rounds, picking up guys like Tommy Hansen during the season, and most importantly, staying injury free all added up to a great season for me.

Good news on Rose, Per Rotoworld: The MRI on Derrick Rose's hip showed no significant damage and he's going to make the trip to Dallas for All-Star weekend. Rose will be re-evaluated on Saturday, so owners are not out of the woods yet. But the X-rays were negative and the fact that the Bulls are letting him go to Dallas is a great sign. We're tentatively expecting Rose to play when come out of the break on Tuesday. Feb. 11 - 1:15 pm et -
Sweet. I'm looking to defend my title... My keepers: Utley, Braun, Grienke Players i'd be willing to trade: Adrian Gonzales, Matt Holliday, Carlos Lee, Clayton Kershaw, John Lackey, Ryan Zimmerman Let me know if you are looking to acquire any of those names

Not really a surprise, but Derrick Rose has been chosen as one of the 27 players on the U.S. National Team roster. Returning from the last team are: Kobe, LeBron, Wade, Bosh, Anthony, Howard, Deron Williams and Boozer. Espn link to story -
QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Feb 9, 2010 -> 09:34 AM) http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20...sp&c_id=mlb Yanks signed Marcus Thames and officially signed Randy Winn. Thames to a minor league deal. If Thames is healthy, he wouldn't have been a bad idea to have him in the mix for DH. You know, it cracks me up every time I see one of your posts because i get to see one of my real good friends as your avatar.

QUOTE (scenario @ Feb 2, 2010 -> 09:48 AM) From an interview with Putz by Chuck Garfien on csnchicago.com... ------------------------------------------------- "But when he walks to the mound at U.S. Cellular Field when the season begins, he’s going to need a new song announcing his arrival. Putz has always used “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC, but that's been the White Sox team song since their 2005 World series title. So, clearly Putz needs a new song and hes asking you for suggestions. That's right...you! Email me your ideas ([email protected]) and I’ll be sure to pass them along to J.J. If he chooses your song, you'll get White Sox tickets for this season!" ------------------------------------------------- Interesting interview as well. Sounds like it was a cool contest, but the winner was chosen on January 28th. His new song is "The Razor's Edge" by AC/DC.
