  1. What baseless b****ing. You can complain about ESPN about alot of things but they gave the White Sox a lot of talk last night and heavily praised Ozzie Ball. Not all of you guys, but some of you are just unbelievable when it comes to this junk. Grow up.
  2. Santana got squeezed too until around the 6th or so when he got rolling. It was an amazingly tight zone that got very loose, very quick. Buehrle got hurt pretty badly by that. Once Johan got rolling, the Glavine rule was in effect. I don't think it's a valid excuse but it'd be nice to see 9 innings of the same zone
  3. Just made a five hour drive to school so here are my final thoughts. The Twins are scary in a five game series because Johan is truly amazing. Just stunning out on the hill. It seems like the count never goes 2-2 once he locks in. He's like a boa.......Konerko is on my s*** list. That was weak not getting the run in with a guy on third and less than two outs. We supposedly got rid of The Horse for not getting the job done in that spot. Konerko needs to get that run home. ........It's hard to harp on this after facing three plus-fastball pitchers in Santanamania-Rincon-Nathan but I don't think we have a guy in our lineup that can turn around a good fastball. Even if that's not entriely true-we certianly have a lot who can't. Gooch and Zoon especially looked real late on everything. I worry that will be Tadahitos undoing. That's been the problem for So Taguchi......I have to question the at-bats in the ninth. More, I should just say that I would have done it differently and not that Ozzie was really wrong. I would have pinch-run for Pierz with Harris or Podz and then I would have used Perez and Gload as my two pinch hitters, saving the otehr speedster for a guy on base. Hard to fault Ozzie here but that was my thinking at the time......Kind of a mildly depressing night but we just have to tip our hats to Santana and go get Celveland tomorrow.
  4. No Nathan is hard to believe. I bet he goes no matter what the score is tonight because he needs work.
  5. chill out guys. It's starting to seem like a complex is growing out of control here. I actually like Phillips because how many Player-GM analysts are there? I do disagree a bit with him on the Sox but time will tell. Detroit has impressed me a lot so far.
  6. Anyone else get the feeling that there aren't gonna be a heck of a lot more runs tonight?
  7. great rip by Cuddyer. That was a pretty fair pitch by Marky.
  8. Joe F'n Krede. Punch and Judy=Pabla Ozuna Fan. First time I've seen him and he looked great with that hustle. A guy like that can be spuer valuable 2-3 days a week. His motor won't stop if you use him right. So far, so good.
  9. I think Buehrle is soemthing like 10-5 al-time against The twins and pitched well in the dome last year. Not sure about how he fared in late summer there but he was good early. I hope we get a 1-0 two hour classic tonight.
  10. Morneau is still out tonight right? Also, Ineed a steal from Gooch for my fantasy team so get running Tadahito!
  11. I wasn't calling out Qwerty. Who am I, a member of G-Unit? I was just making a joke to a soxtalk friend and giving him a hard time. If Rowand hits three homers tonight I'd expect the same.
  12. Besides his corniness, there is usually little evidence to suggest that Bill Melton isn't always under the influence of a sedative
  13. "Best signal caller in the AL" Welcome to soxtalk Hawk
  14. Anyone else wish they would have seen the bittersweet look on Qwerty's face when Timo Perez hit the homer? This one was nice tonight. When Judith gave up the three run homer I htought I've seen this game many times over the last five years. The sox proved me wrong by keeping in the fight. Still, it's key to contain the deisre to puff our chests out because beating Minnesota hasn't been a problem the last few years in general. It's been beating them in August and September and that will still be the key.
  15. We're still6 hours out, but you have to think that internally they know what is going on for today anyways,
  16. he couldn't have been behind all night if at one point he was 44 strikes to 19 balls. I thought Lohse looked outstanding the first four innings.
  17. Any chance a certain someone would get a spot start on Sunday instead of Freddy on short rest?
  18. I don't really worry so much about Judy (he was lights ouit there once last year) but more on how our bats do against Radke. Still, beating a team at their home opener is harder to do than most think so we gotta feel good going into tomorrows game. Only downside is that Herm should probably (if Ozzie is gonna be careful) go unused. Let's get the bats going early so that we avoid Nasty Nathan along with Romero and co.
  19. I didn't think there was any reason to sweat that G/F ratio. This guy is a gamer. Maybe even more than Buehrle if that is possible. Folks, we have a guy if healthy that is gonna do a lot for us
  20. I like what I've seen from Harris at the Dish Tonight. I don't like what I;'ve seen from Pods. Take a pitch dammit. No wonder this guy has obp problems. That was a good rip by Crede but man has he showed nothing in the first four games. If some guys have sldier bat speed his bat speed might be El Duque Eephus speed.
  21. Carlos is in the RIchie Sexson and Milt Thompson Hall of Fame for Cub Killers. That's when I'll miss him and Valentin. They rose to the moment in Wrigley
  22. I think those games are meaningless for stats. It's proably all about working on stuff and really how you feel the next morning.
  23. this week notwithstanding, I finda Randa a guy that might be a little suckey if he played here. Just a gut feeling
