  1. I hope your right cwsox, i think bud is just giving everyone some breathing room and a break so everyone can clear their thoughts.
  2. But i was hearing from the ap that boras said "I'm still in the middle of it," Scott Boras, the AL MVP's agent, told AP just after 5 p.m. so i dont; know what to make of this. do you think bud told them to stop but the sides are still going to try to resolve this then go to bud and say we have a resolution?
  3. Here i guess it could be over for now? negotiations end
  4. you could be right josh because maybe they are trying to get kenny nervous about taking on nomar if that is what kenny was going to do in the back of his mind was trade him(hope not) and this way it will hang over kw's head that he could be stuck with him and he might back out of the deal with boston, thus opening the dodgers to sneak back into the picture. But the dodgers don;t have any offense to give back especially someone of magglios caliber so i don;t see this happening but i could be wrong.
  5. give it time, this deadline doesn't really mean anything because boston can call texas monday and say ok i will take your offer and texas could say yes ok. What is bud going to do say oh no you can't do this trade becuase you passed the deadline on thursday. I don't think so, keep the faith becuase I want nomar also.
  6. REBUILD! This team has been rebuilding for years! Odalis Perez is no where near the caliber of a player maggs is worth. LA isn't willing to part with there top prospects and they are staying away from giving up mota. So you tell me israel who is going to take on nomar or even maggs if the deal isn;t done??? Not Baltimore, they don;t have anyone to give up. the angels don;t have the money to take him since colon and escobar are there, and what do we get erstad who gets hurt and percival which he would be the only one worth it. and he isn;t even worth the price of maggs. Maggs is worth an high caliber, and a high caliber player is going to be traded for a high caliber player in return.
  7. From Peter Gammons, according to him the dodgers have said they are moving on and they will explore ofther options. Gammons said that nomar would stay in chicago and play out the year. Which if this is true which i hope. We will have to find pitching somehow or some form. I do believe and this is just me speculating, the sox will keep nomar, and they will trade koch to the mets for the prospect. They will find a suitor for valentin to free up more money and they will hopefully get juan gonz to fill maggs's void in the out field and they will come to terms with garcia or armas, and another reliever. That would be a nice christmas.
  8. Looks like are chances for ponson seem to be getting dimmer. Interesting that montreal will nontender tony armas jr. How did he do last year? here is the linkPonson likes O's
  9. It looks like the Bud is pushing for this deal to go through and he is trying to get the deal worked out here is the link Bud to get involved
  10. Doesn't sound to good Press Release Sounds like it could be over, but who knows..
  11. Nomar, plays the hardest position in the game and he plays it extremely well. Not only can he play the position he can hit the ball also, if i am correct i think he won the batting title 2 times?
  12. I know some people are upset about the chances of losing maggs makes them angry, well it is understandable, but you have to look at it this way. If maggs isn't willing to sign with us after next year for a reasonable price, and we know that we cannot keep him. Well what is the point of letting him stay here for this year. We have a chance to make the team better, heck we can get one of the best defensive and offensive shortstops in the game and also we get a decent reliever/closer also. 2 for the price of 1. Maggs was also one of my favorites, he will be missed, but this team did nothing since this core has been together except a playoff appearence in 2000 that they were swept in. I wouldnt' even count 2000 because they didn't even put up a fight against seattle. Its time for a change, and sometimes you have to trade the best player to give you a chance to do something that to make the team better. you have to try new game plans because the old plan keeps on failing. But...........................All this intense hype about the biggest trade ever in baseball history could all be for nothing if they can't get the union to approve. In my opinion i still think this deal will go through without the restructuring of arods contract because off all the attention that has been going on with this trade and especially the attention it has recieved today. Nomar, ARod, and probably Maggs at this point(maybe) has had their image and heart broken to the teams that they are currently on. Maggs, Nomar seem to probably realize that they are not wanted anymore, and arod will feel like an a@@hole if he stay with texas with his teamates and his coaches knowing that he thinks their team is a bunch of guys that cant win. There has been to much damage to the teams and players if this dea falls through. This is why i see this going down. Boston is just trying to ease some of the burdons they will take on with arods contract which is very understandable.
  13. Interesting, Vlad first choice
  14. I hope so, I am thinking maybe kenny will have something up his sleeve.
  15. everyone has their opinions on the guy, thats fine. but if we didn't give up on him we wouldnt be looking for a closer or hoping that Koch is back to normal(which i hope he is) would we? Also talking about blowing games remember what koch did on July 4th this past year? and there is a few more just like it
  16. Jaque Jones to who and what do the twins get in return? Fill me in i didn't here about this one.
  17. I was watching cltv news yesterday morning and they were talking about the winter meetings and the sox came up and kenny williams was being interviewed i am assuming when he arrived in new orleans yesterday about the situation of the white sox, and what he said surprised me , he pretty much seemed like he conceded this year all ready. The question was " what can you do kenny to help this team with the money you have?" and kenny's answer was "Well with what i have to play with, there really isn;t much i can do. I will have to juggle some stuff around to keep this team competitive. I like harris at second and arron at center. I would like to win this thing(meaning the world series) at least once in the next few years." kenny stopped and the reporter was in the middle of asking him about if any one was going to be traded and then kenny interrupted and said "well maybe we can win this thing next year." To me it sounds like kenny was giving up this year, why did he have to go back and backtrack his statements about this team winning it. Does he not believe this team can win if he puts some players in place? I am not saying that i am picking the sox to win the ws either, at least not at the moment. But look at the marlins, did anyone actually think they would win the ws. I don;t think so.
  18. Sox will be World Series Champs in 04! as in the RED sox. Good for keith, i like him alot he deserves to go to a team that believes he can help them win it. Not like the white sox who gave up on him after a down year.
  19. I don't know if this was posted allready but here is the link Yanks Deal
  20. checkout chicago sports.com he only is getting 3.75 mil this year it is a progressive rate with an option in 07
  21. Hey i would take giving up thomas and say danny wright or a decent prospect to the dodgers, with kevin brown going to the yanks and us getting Weaver and Perez. That would be interesting.
  22. I think gammons is just speculating, I hope.
