I would be all for grady little as a manager, you can't blame him for sticking with his #1 when times are rough. That what a #1 pitcher is supposed to do, shut the opponents down. Little probably would never get a shot here becaue the sox would never spend that kind of money. Even if torre was available the sox wouldn;t go after him he would cost to much. That is why i don;t get kw when he said at the press conference of the firing of JM that "If there was a Dusty twin out there I would be getting him" Ya right the sox would never pay dusty type of money either. That is why i can;t see them getting gaston becuase he is probably to expensive. I see them with ozzie, he will get the same pay as jm. OZZie is ok with me unless torre, Larousa is available and possibly G.little also.

I am not totally sure but is Nov 1st the day the teams can start talking and signing free agents? If it is hopefully kw was waiting until now since it is after the world series to make announcements on the signings of some of our free agents because we better do something because nov 1 is not that far away. I know selig requested that teams not make any announcements on players and things of that nature until after the world series becuase he didn't want anything to take publicity away from the big games. So hopefully kw will have a list of announcements to make as far as a new manager, the signing of colon (i hope) and hopefully that alomar and gordon along with sully will be back. We can only hope!

your right, those pics are what could be in store, but we don;t know for sure. I hope that is what it is going to look like! I especially like the minature upperdeck which they are going to call the upper deck homerun patio( as what the rumors are calling it.) They only thing i can come up with is well those pics were made for a reason. They were put up last year to show the renovations of the park; they were taken down within hours of being put up. My guess is they were put up by mistake and the pics from the renovations before last years opening day pahse #3 were put in its place. I hope those are the pics of what phase #4 are going to look like. If you look everthing from phase #3 are in the pics, the only thing that gets me is... Is this the final product the one after phase #5 or is this after Phase #4? It is probably the final product because that looks like alot of work to be done in what 5 months but hey we will soon find out. I am hearing they are suppose to announce the renovations for phase #4 in the middle of november.

Buehrle will make more then garland this year becuase he had a great second half what i think 9-2 with a 3.0 era or something like that and the arbitrator will see that and reward him for that maybe not big bucks but some kind of amount. Also asside for the fact that the sox won;t have alot of money to spend if colon stays is that they will have to make the first year on garlands contract not that much because simply the money isn;t there.

You might be right, He could just be a 500 pitcher. But he has alot of potential where he can shut teams down or he can get blown out by the third inning. like i said, If they sign him maybe this will give him some more focus and concentration on attacking the batter.

That is true they need to get buerhle a contract. I don;t know if they will because if colon accepts his offer, buerhle is going to want something in that price range maybe that as much but in the area, and the sox won;t be able to give that money up unless they are willing to spend. I see buehrle staying until after the 2006 season when he becomes a free agent. He allready turned down a few offers that were in the price range that pitchers like him were getting, he will make some money in arbitration, but he is waiting for his payday.

Here is the link This will be good for garland if he gets a contract, hopefully this will show him that the team and the organization have faith in him and he can concentrate more and stay focused. I am hoping garland will have a break out year maybe 17 wins. I also like the part about Bartolo getting a more money so he can stay here (as long as we don;t pay to much, this is all i would give him if he doesn;t want then let him go else where) Scotty is also getting ready for tryouts for a rotation spot.

I sure hope that we can land poson or even suppan in the offseason. I know that suppan has an option for 6 mil next year with boston, but I heard that boston wasn't going to accept the option. and for ponson, SF allready said they are going to cut payroll by about 15 mil so they won't be trying to sign him also. Lets hope we can grab 1 of the 2.

If bartolo doesn't sign with us, which at this moment in my opinion is a 50/50 shot of getting him back. KW has balls and he could just go and up his side of the deal as far as money wise. I think he will be back, but if he goes else where. KW will come up with somthing to get another starter, He will trade if he has to or sign maybe someone else. I like sydny ponson, he isn't a bartolo but he can be. The giants are not going to sign him, and the sox might be able to snag him, because the yanks and bosox are going to be fighting for bartolo. another name that wouldn't be bad to get would be suppan. Heck lets try to get both, Loaiza, Buerhle, Ponson, Suppan, Garland or Schoenwiess. that would be a great starting 5.

I haven;t heard anything on bartolo since that article that was in the southown saying that 3 years for 30 mil was not enough money. I think alot of the reasons we havent heard anything about the sox is because of the stupid cubs, they are getting all of the attention as usual. remember this is a cubs town. If the cubs didn't make the playoffs. there would of been alot of articles etc. about the sox in the papers and on the radio. WE just have to wait until the RED SOX kick their ass in the WS.

Hey this wasn't my friends first time at his house, he has been there a few times in the past installing and servicing his garage doors. My friend is a reliable source, he is one of the biggest sox fans I know. I was just passing on some info that I knew to you guys, if you don;t think it is true then don;t believe it. it is up to you. :fthecubs Hey guys! Long time no post. It is now the offseason and i will be posting alot more during the winter months. Anyways: My friend fixes garage doors and he went to Jerry Manuel's house on wednesday. He fixed his door and all that good stuff, and he started talking to JM. JM asked him who was going to win the world series and My friend said the yankees, and jerry responed "you know we have a better team then the yankees do, it is a shame that we didn;t make it." My friend asked him "why do you think you guys didn't make the playoffs and JM blammed it all on Frank Thomas. He said frank was the problem from the start, everything had to revolve around frank, if someone wants to do something in the clubhouse, they have to ask frank. He said he would wine like a baby about everything, he only thought about himself. JM said that he would ask frank to do certain things in the game like hit the ball to the opposite side or even a surprise bunt (you know the little things) and Frank would complain and say my goal is to hit homeruns. Jm basically said that frank was only for frank and that he didn't care about anyone else, it was all a show on what he said in the media etc. JM also said some discouraging news that surprises me; ?He said that Magglio is getting to be the same way, only for himself and his personnel goals not the teams goals, he said the Magglio was close to being traded before the deadline for some starting pitching, he did not mention for who we would of gotten in return for magglio. JM thinks that Maggs and Konerko probably will be traded this offseason, Maggs for a frontline starter, and konerko probably for some prospects (mostly to clear salary space). AS far as to where Jm wants to do next, he said he wants to take some time off for a while and enjoy his new home in CAlifornia. He also stated that he did not have anyone in mind as to who will be the new manager. Looking forward to post again with everyone, is the same old gang still posting here? and also what happened to soxnet?

Hey, I knew all a long that rogers would reject it, because the sox made the offer. There was no negotiating done at all. It is now kenny turn to counteroffer, like say how about we will give you 2 million with incentives that can add to 4 mil. There has to be a negotiation in this, alot of players just don't go and sign a contract on the first offer. Put it this way do you buy a car for the price that they say it is? No I don;t think so, you negotiate. Hopefully that is what rogers is doing, the sox lowed balled him so he is going to high ball the sox. Now if the sox are really interested they will make a counteroffer. I heard reports that the sox can afford about 2.5 mill for him plus incentive that can bring him to about 4. Lets see what happens, because I really don;t think he wants to retire, and noone else has the money or the interest in signing him to a contract like that. Heck from what I am hearing he hasn't even been offered anything since the begging of free agency.

Any new news on Kenny Rogers and hopefully coming to the sox? I haven;'t heard anything in the last couple of days.

I like the idea of going after Rogers. He had a great era last year and I think he still has a good year left in him heck maybe even two. With him in the rotation all our pitchers will have experience 1-5! I hope kenny can lure him here, the suntimes said that kenny only has 1 or 2 million he can spend on him. I say lets sign him for 1.5 mil and give him incentives like they did with kenny lofton, lets give him a chance to earn say an extra 3 mil, somthing like that will work. I have been saying since the end of december that we should go after rogers if we can get him at a cheap price, no is our chance he has no other teams that are interested in him. He probably doesn't want to retire so he is going to have to get what he can get. Go get him Kenny, he will fit nicely! What else can you ask for "A LEFTY A TWIN KILLER!!"

I agreed with gammons said, he was saying to watch out for us! We play alot of games in our division, and we don;t have any competition in the central besides the twins, so he was getting that we will get alot of wins.

Hey lets not trade him, are you crazy! With colon probably not going to be here after this year, who would be our proven ace? I have a feeling that Mb and Kw will come to some kind of agreement before 2006. If we do good this year and make the playoffs, everyone will be hopefully happy and things will come together.

That is true he doesn't speak english. So does that mean when jerry manuel goes out to talk to him on the mound; does he have to bring a translator with him? or will he have to bring valentine over to explain?

At first I really didn't think that Jim P was that bad of a pitcher, he pitched great in 2000 and in game 1 against seattle. But the thing that mest him up was his ATTITUDE and how he thaught his s*** didnt stink. And it all blew up in his face! someone will offer him something before the season starts.

Who did he sign with? I seen on espn that we lost him to free agency.

He will get himself together because if he plays like s***, no one will give him the offer he wants when he becomes a free agent, that is if the sox don't sign him.
