Cabrera is god, as is Uribe and OV.. Your right the Giants did, overpay for OV.. The point was that KW wanted to replace Uribe as SS, failed to do so. Then paniced and Inked a played who had one decent year, hitting in a hitters park. Yet we are unwilling to pay one of our own?

I kind of like the move.. Pauly if he has any kind of year is as good as gone, WE can use gload for a year, and then if this kid pans out he could be in the majors by 07.. Not to shabby.

AS would I.. Pudge can change a whole teams makeup.. Look at the difference with the Tigers from 03 to 04, and the same thing can be said about the Marlins from 03-04.

The only thing Harris has the talent for is Triple-a.. Yes he has the Def range.. but so did Royce Clayton, and he didn't last to long. I don't know why people are in love with this guy so much? Also Pods will succeed this year, hit about .270/.340/60-70 Bank on it

lvjeremylv, How has Harris fail you ask? There has to be a reason that he wasn't being played everyday.. OO That's right he can't hit against LHP, something that you might need to do in the big leagues. Now lets look at the other numbers, SB LC 21 in 25 attempts a 84% success rate WH 19 in 26 attempts a 73% success rate So in 1 less try, LC has 2 more SB.. advantage LC. To obtain 21 SB WH would have to try and steal another 3 bases getting thrown out 1 more time before hitting 21sb. I don't like giving up outs, maybe you do? All the other numbers are already in LC favor, maybe you can break up LHP/RHP to further prove the point that Harris, is not the player we want/ need on the Sox in 05. Last time I check Omar is a part of the Giants..not the Sox. KW failed, then to make Uribe feel better inked him to a 3 year deal for a good 2004 I was talking about Jose's 2000 numbers then we inked him to a bigger deal only for it to blow up in our faces.

People why are we arguging? IMO, Castillo is one of 2 2B That would fit the sox new plan, with Marcus Giles being the other. WE are giving up a RP for a hole. Yes we will miss Marte, but Castillo is a bigger need.. Anything to not have Harris fail at 2b again.

No we had an older version of that in Jose, I am going with jeckle on this.. Uribe, had one good year, and they sign him long term .. but only after KW failed to ink Omar Vizquel. As if KW needed to make Uribe happy. Rowand is one of the few that have come up through our system that is going to be a stud, you have to pay the man. to answer the question at hand.. No thank you.. The man has no def range Castillo.. I want him, I wanted him last year when he was a FA, b4 signing back with the Marlins I would give up cotts/Harris for Castillo in a heartbeat. I would give up marte, but we have to get another minor leaguer in return. But, i wouldlike to see the Sox get this done, we might be a litle over budget..but I don't think JR would mind for a player like that.

IMO, start him in triple-a and when Harris fails, we can bring Valdez up to play. I would like to get him some AB's and not have him sit on the bench.

Wait a sec..You thought Loiaza after one good year could anchor our staff? And before that year could not win more than 12 games, and at the end of 03 was getting toasted by the Twins? I said that if he won 12-14 games in 04, I would have been happy. WE didn't really take a loss with him. As far as the topic at hand.. I give the Sox a C.. since this team can be really good/ or repeat prior years/ be even worse than before.
