Game Thread: 5/22/06 White Sox vs. A's

I consider myself a pretty patient guy when it comes to the Sox, but I am getting really really pissed at uribe. this game just shows why the last game of the cubs series would have been so nice to win. -
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 22, 2006 -> 07:59 AM) Three quick points: Don't get me started on Uribe's approach at the plate, you guys know how I feel about it. Pauly should have caught the bad throw by Uribe yesterday, it looked like short armed the reach. Pauly's foot was also at the center of the bag, had he shuffled his foot over to the RF part of the bag and fully streched, he makes the catch and we're probably talking about a Sox sweep. Yes, BA could've made the catch in CF on the Barrett triple. Not Ozzie's fault, not Cotts' fault. The D failed, ballgame. I agree with all your points but the second. Paulie had a chance, but I do think that Uribe absolutely gunned the ball over there, on the replay it looked like Paulie just didnt have time to adjust. Not to mention that he probably wasnt putting himself in a very mobile position since he wasnt expecting a tough play.

I just dont understand how Uribe can go up there looking for a fastball EVERY at-bat, when everyone and their mom knows if you throw him 3 offspeed pitches, hell swing at all 3 and be 3 seconds early.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ May 21, 2006 -> 06:04 PM) Did you expect Jenks to go 50 for 50 in save opps? I certainly didn't. That's unheard of. Vazquez being left in too long, meh, that's questionable stuff Ozzie has always done. Uribe "f***ing up" was the result of Cedeno sliding into 2B the right way. I blame today's loss(if I had to) more on Count being taken out and Count being taken out for Cotts at that. Cedeno's slide? no way, uribe just plain made a bad throw. the play wasnt close at second, uribe was a step off the bag when he made the throw.

Juan Uribe is making Brian Anderson look good.

QUOTE(Princess Dye @ May 21, 2006 -> 12:29 PM) i dont at all agree that bowling-over-the-catcher should be taken out of baseball. but he's right that Brian Anderson was being an idiot. i mean, most everyone else was holding back from throwing all-out punches, except him. why is that? is he this GREAT teammate everyone here thinks he is, because he did it? or just immature as hell? how isnt everyone seeing that action as just lowering himself to Barrett's level? The problem with Anderson was that he missed Barrett. He had every right to go after Barrett, but the fracas with Mabry wasnt really a good idea. -
Who is your favorite player from 80's, 90's, and 00's?
shawnhillegas replied to SoxFanInDallas's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'm a young guy so I can only do the 90's. But here we go... BlackJack, Robin, Tony Phillips (seriously), Frank, Ray -

right now you should just be thankful that liriano is FINALLY in the rotation. i swear it looks like he has better stuff than Santana -
I blame this game on the Cuddyer call. I blame this game on the Cuddyer call.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 10, 2006 -> 06:19 PM) With him being a rookie, I imagine he'll only be allowed to throw 85-90 pitches. Hes at 29 already. Hope B-Mac is game tonight. a knuckler has to be able to throw more than that.

nasty movement.

i LOVE how cautious we are being with dye and contreras. how is mark prior anyway?

yeah, hip problems are bad news. id much rather have a sore shoulder. especially if there was an MRI taken and he was so quickly ushered onto the DL. think joey belle folks.
