  1. Even Frank's worst season of 2002 after coming back from his injury would still be a boon to our offense. Frank (2002 season) .252 AVG .361 OBP .472 SLG .833 OPS 28 HR 92 RBI 77 R 88 BB 115 SO
  2. Agreed. So far, his only negative has been throwing runners out. But his positives (handling the pitching staff, hitting, attitude) far outweigh his negative (weak arm).
  3. But we are trying to win THIS YEAR. What could the Angels give us that would help us win more THIS YEAR than Frank Thomas? It's not like they are going to ship us Francisco Rodriguez for Frank and even he wouldn't help us win more than Frank.

  5. If this guy had checked out our team OBP and AVG, he wouldn't even be saying this stupid crap.
  6. It's not exactly hard to steal on Contreras' slow-ass delivery and Pierzynski's weak arm. Patterson had 18 SB in 2002, 16 SB in half a season in 2003, and 32 SB last season. He currently has only 4 SB and is on pace for only 16 SB this season. That is called regression. Obviously, Vince Coleman hasn't really done a great job with Patterson. Kenny must have felt that Coleman WOULD make a difference. Coleman could have tried to steal signs and then told Blanco when Pods or Willie were going to try to steal. It isn't that hard to believe.
  7. Steal signs. Also, Corey Patterson and his 4 stolen bases on the season could be a good reason.
  8. Yep, all those nut punches really screwed Golota's career. He became a joke for awhile after that.
  9. I've been watching Prior pitch and he's been a lot like Wood. He throws a few meatballs early in the game before he has his great control. I've seen him get hit extremely hard this season but he usually managing to get out of trouble. I think the key is to tag him early.
  10. Wow, Brewster is an egomaniac... http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/ne...tory?id=2065788
  11. This is exactly what Mariotti's deal is... He isn't trying to write about the facts. He's trying to stir up s***, just to sell newspapers. Even Cubs fans don't respect his worthless hide and if you lived in Chicago you would know that no one does. If you can't see that, well, I'm sorry.
  12. LOL, wow. Mariotti is the biggest flip-flopping piece of crap in the world. If the Sox lose 4 games in a row to the Angels he will be the first one to say, "I TOLD YOU SO!" and that our team is a sham and never had a chance to begin with. He IS a moron and I can't believe you are defending the guy. This guy changes his mind more than John Kerry. :rolly
  13. Why would Kenny want to help the Cubs? Vince Coleman would have tried to steal our signs to guys like Pods and Willie. I think it's obvious that that's what the Cubs were trying to do. f*** that and f*** them. :finger Good job, Kenny. I just love that Cubune bias. :headshake
  14. Weather.com says that the wind will be blowing west / northwest at 14 - 17 mph so it will be blowing out towards right field. If the wind blows mostly northwest, it should knock down balls that are hit to LF and CF. The game-time temperature should be 71° - 73° and sunny.
  15. Contreras owns a 3.23 ERA through 9 starts. He only has a 2-1 record but he has pretty much been snake-bitten in his starts since he hasn't gotten much run support. But he has yet to give up more than 4 ER in any start this season. If this guy ever starts consistently throwing in the strike zone and stops pitching around guys, he will be a stud in this league.
  16. I'm not really too worried about what these guys are saying... LOL!
  17. It's good to see that not all prospects that the Twinkies bring up are instant studs. It looks like Juan "No Bat" Castro will be the Twins' starting SS now... "Notes: Bartlett optioned to Rochester Rodriguez called up to replace struggling shortstop" http://minnesota.twins.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/...t=.jsp&c_id=min
  18. "Notes: Baldwin glad to be back in bigs O's to use veteran in long relief, possibly as spot starter" http://baltimore.orioles.mlb.com/NASApp/ml...t=.jsp&c_id=bal
  19. Gotta love it... http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/new...t=.jsp&c_id=chc
  20. True, Uribe is in a hardcore slump. I would still miss his D at SS though.
