  1. Yep, and Garland probably could have thrown Korey a pitch-out and he would have swung at it. My point exactly. I puked a little in my mouth after seeing Garland throw that pitch at the game. It was so stupid.
  2. I just watched a replay of the pitch at MLB.com. It was a sinker that cut inside and over the plate. That's a stupid pitch to throw to Korey Patterson on an 0-2 count. Garland could have thrown one a foot off the plate away and in the dirt and Korey would have swung at it. The guy swings at everything, especially on 0-2 counts. I just don't get why whomever called for that pitch did so on an 0-2 count. It boggles my mind.
  3. You HAVE to trade prospects to improve the team when you are having a season like the Sox are. Spare no expense. Do anything to improve the team. Money isn't a factor if you go deep in the playoffs or possible even win the big one. The money will be there next year.
  4. I would trade Brandon McCarthy, Ryan Sweeney, and a reliever for A.J. Burnett in a second. He is the "power" pitcher that we don't have. El Duque could long relieve out of the bullpen or spot-start if needed like he did with the Yankees. I would have no problem with El Duque as our jizz-mopper out of the bullpen and Burnett as our #2 or #3 starter. Contreras as our #5 starter? That would be sick. Mark Buehrle A.J. Burnett Freddy Garcia Jon Garland Jose Contreras That would be the best rotation in the A.L. and probably the entire MLB. Goodbye B-Mac, Sweeney, and a reliever...
  5. That was a brutal game to attend. Garland pitched great but why in the hell did he give Korey Patterson ANYTHING to hit on an 0-2 count. That was moronic. Korey will swing at anything low and away on an 0-2 count. Konerko also had a nice error that led to the Cubs' second run. Watching our lineup swing at every pitch in the live was pretty disgusting. I absolutely loved those first-pitch pop-ups by Frank and Paulie. Oh, and I love when Cruddy swings at dog s*** pitches in the dirt and then complains. Get a clue, clueless Joe. Me thinks it's time for Randa.
  6. Nope. He's young, cheap, and good. Why would the Brewers trade him?

  9. I know it isn't "Ozzieball or "Smartball" but I would put out our all-power lineup and hope for the 3-run bomb. Prior doesn't give up many hits but he IS susceptible to the homer. I would start Frank at DH, Carl in LF, and Pods in CF. I would keep the rest of the lineup the same.
  10. WHY? He must want to be just like Derrick Alexander.
  11. He must have had his 91 MPH straight fastball working to perfection.
  12. Frank Thomas gets a lot of calls too so we can complain. I've already seen Frank start to get strikes called balls and that's after missing an entire year of baseball.
  13. Mark Buehrle > Johan Santana ?
  14. Prior has been horrible away from the Urinal and a bit worse pitching during the day than at night... http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb...7578&statType=2 I'm going to the game today so I hope we win the series and the season series. If we lose, it's only a 3-3 split on the season.
  15. That won't happen. Why would they keep Schmidt for the rest of their losing season and then pay him his $3 million buyout to get rid of him? They are going to decide to either trade him at the deadline or pick up his $10 million option for next season. Keeping him for the rest of this season and then buying out his contract would make absolutely no sense. Sabean is just trying to up the ante on Schmidt's trade value to the teams that are interested in him.
  16. And the Flubs swing at everything anyways.

  18. 3rd base is where he has been projected at the major league level. You can't really blame him though. He's 6'4", 220 pounds and he's playing SS.
  19. He's 36? Wow, better break out the Depends. Happy Birthday!

  22. I'm just relaying what I hear. He can get on base but he would have a lot more value if he could steal a few bases.
  23. And keep in mind that we gave them a bust of a catcher. If Olivo wasn't traded to the Mariners, we wouldn't have AJ right now.
