Pitchers with potential pretty much get raises through arbitration even if they don't improve on their previous year's performance (see Jon Garland). Garland made $2.3 million last season but he is going to earn $3.4 million in 2005. Arbitration process = 30% raise :puke

Whatever happened to Mark Wohlers? He had a 100 mph fastball. My point is that a pitcher can have a 100 mph fastball but without any control it doesn't mean much.

Why do you guys think that the Cubs would trade Farnsworth for another lefty 2nd baseman when they just signed Walker for 2 years and have a weak bullpen as it is? :headshake

I think he could be one of the best 2B bench players in baseball.

Still, the Cubs' bullpen is very weak and I don't think they could afford to trade Farnsworth anyways. I'm sure there is a team out there that would want Willie though.

Well, as much as I dislike Farnsworth he has trade value for that very reason. I don't think Willie would be enough to net Farnsworth, especially when the Cubs' bullpen is already in shamble as it is.
