Was Manny just a waiver pickup? -
sox marketing technique - acquiring attractive players
bmags replied to ron883's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Reddy @ Aug 31, 2017 -> 09:49 AM) I've always said there's some sort of genetic connection between attractiveness and being exceptionally good at physical feats. Obviously there are exceptions, but superstars in sports also just tend to be good looking people. Same in the performing arts. It's prettttttty interesting. Basically what I'm saying is ron is 100% right, and we're likely to be a good team in a couple years because our players are pretty. Fact. I mean it's just hard to believe Glennon will be a good QB because of it I'm just sayin. -
I think everyone knows where this is going, but I thought I'd put it down in writing. Some of us may be a little apprehensive to hop on the Yurchak Yacht after seeing our ole flame Schnurbusch become forgotten as he moved into full-season ball. But it is funny how similar they are. Schnurbusch 2016 (22 yo) .357/.471/.542/1.013 OPS in 291 PAs Yurchak 2017 (20 yo) .366/.471/.554/1.025 OPS in 228 PAs Schnurbusch was really good! But the big differences: Schnurbusch was 1.5 years old for Great falls, Yurchak is young for his level. Schnurbusch had a 23.7% K rate in GF, Yurchak has only an 11% k rate. Now, as you could tell from their identical OBP, they both featured nice 16-17% walk rates. We kinda sorta know the end to the Schnurbusch story, he has not gotten better as the season has gone along. But the difference in pedigree (in terms of college program), age, and k-rate make him a much, much more interesting 10+ round draft pick lighting world on fire in Great Falls story.

Reynaldo getting the call and the ball on Friday
bmags replied to Rowand44's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If Lopez was a soccer player we'd totally just be calling him Reynaldo so that's what I"m going with. -
This is like a delilo novel at this point. Have to hope they can get everyone out of harms way but businesses in that town are going to be destroyed by that.

Weird, looks like Ricky was misquoted, he said ReyLo -
Anthony Coronado 3-4 with a 2b in AZL.

Danny Mendick having a good AFL would be nice momentum after a huge year for him.

sox marketing technique - acquiring attractive players

We forgot about Robert. I think my most intimate moments every day are looking at his instagram stories. -
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 30, 2017 -> 12:23 PM) Good news for Meredith, he only tore his ACL and had minor damage to MCL, but everything else looks ok. Earliest recovery time is 8 months, he theoretically could be ready in time for OTAs That's fantastic.

If I could make myself as a tennis player in a video game, mostly for aesthetics I'd give myself Tiafoe's forehand and Roger's backhand. Was fun last night.

Yoan and TA haven't exactly hurt my chances of my wife watching the game with me -
Anthony Coronado from the 2016 INTL group made an appearance on AZL last night. He showed good power as a 17 year old. Lenyn Sosa was also 2-3 with a BB. Reyes homered for GF.

I have never witnessed a rampage like this with a white Sox positional prospect.

Does Comcast look nuts to anyone else? -
Every legit starting QB worth extending is going to break the record.

That's a debut Hansen.

I am looking forward pretty positively to this year. The last 3 years, we had big stinkers in the 3rd preseason game. Last year it's hard ot understate how bad the team looked in preseason. ANd yet the second half emerged a pretty decent offense that was rewarded with a banged up descending defense. Now, both look pretty good. And maybe it won't matter just like the previous years didn't matter, but I think Loggains may actually be putting together a decent offense given the talent. I think we'll see a lot more of the TE sets in the reg season, and a good running team. The defense I'm very high on. We'll see, what does any of that mean without a QB?

**SPOILER THREAD** GAME OF THRONES ** SPOILER THREAD **

QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Aug 28, 2017 -> 11:26 AM) Only if you really put a major emphasis on Bran in the next season. I mean, Bran hasn't really done anything with his powers this season except warg into ravens to spy on the Night King, and I guess compile evidence against LF and figure out Jon's parentage? For them to effectively tell a time traveling story where Bran is responsible for all the acts and is effectively two people in one timeline would be a pretty audacious story to tell and have it make sense within the narrative. Worst moment for me yesterday was Cersei letting Jaime leave. She literally just told him her double cross plan and then lets him leave to presumably tell that plan to Team Targ? If Cersei is done with Jaime, and isn't ready to kill him, wouldn't she have just arrested him? See I don't think it matters. Dani/Jon have to go north. They needed Cersei. Knowing she's not coming won't affect things that much. -
BA put out an article top ten prospects who made "the leap" but were not in top 50. Hansen was on it. He's definitely going to be on the next year top 100s. http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/susp...ijJu0bZXGmQH.97

Coops main asset is his partnership with Herm in keeping players healthy. He also failed with Aardsma, who had more success after. He failed with Smarj, who figured it back out after him. Coops trademark is steadiness and health. But his highs ahve not hit as much as Carl Willis or Bosio. And there's stuff like this: are the dodgers actually bad at preventing injuries or do they just take more risks with high-risk players? I am glad to have a pitching coach who keeps players healthy. That has propped up this org quite a bit. But his talent for especially getting amazing performances out of players? I find that a bit overrated.

With only 6 episodes I don't think that's a storyline they could effectively tell. -
All of your comments reaffirm that off plate upper deck is really hard to have an idea how a pitcher looked (especially with 6 little ones)

So what do we think happened in the cutaway from when Tyrion figures out she's pregnant and she lies that they'll go north?
