  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 28, 2017 -> 09:14 AM) Oh and that dragon is going to be flightless pretty soon, it was already f***ed up. ha, I don't believe this for a second. I don't think an undead dragon has the same physics of lift.
  2. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Aug 28, 2017 -> 09:00 AM) It was a decent finale, could have been better but it had a lot in it. My first impression after the episode ended was Westeros is f***ed. I was talking to a buddy and he brought up Dany's visions in Qarth, and there was one with a snowy throne room, between that and talking about the number of people in King's Landing I'm pretty sure that the dead will make it there. It got me thinking about the last time the white walkers attacked and Azor Ahai, started reading up on it again. It'll be interesting to see if there are any parallels between then and now. yeah I definitely think the dead at least push the northern armies into Cersei's. I was thinking about it, and wanted to give some credit to the difficulty of finishing this series off. While true they didn't nail it in terms of living up to the characters, some of the magic of the show has been the surprises and how it would lead you astray and push characters out of what seemed like the endgame. Well this is all the endgame. Everyone basically knows Jon and Dany (ice and fire) would team up and presumably prevail against an army of the dead. So now as they deliver on that there is a lot of "well yeah we know that". Last night I wished I had not actually read up on so much of the show. The pace has been bad and decisions have been lazy, but I wonder how much of that is trying to create some surprises when at this point we all know what's going to happen.
  3. QUOTE (KnightsOnMintSt @ Aug 27, 2017 -> 07:17 PM) Can't imagine that Jimenez is in Birmingham for that long next year. I think we'll see him in Charlotte in early July. I know we had some struggles in AAA but I look back pretty positively on our year in the minors. Kopech, Hansen, Dunning and now jimenez pushed the org to challenge them all year. And guys that were challenged surprisingly like Collins responded big time. On top of that, pretty good year healthwise, which may just be due to amount of prospects. Burdi hurts...but if I had to choose one...
  4. This was best case scenario in some ways today, but the injuries were worst case. Sucks so hard for Meredith.
  5. Was at the game in upper deck so kinda hard to follow. Seemed like curve couldn't get over but the slider was used quite a bit. He was hit pretty hard often but right at guys so kinda lucky start but 7 IP no runs can't complain.
  6. Yurchak bomb, 2 Skougbombs
  7. Thanks Balta stay safe, and I hope your colleagues can stay above this storm level for another day.
  8. Worst case scenario forecasts look likely. Have to hope coast guard and others can get to all emergency Evacs. Houston is a tremendous American city, so hard to watch.
  9. This looks awful now and likely to get worse. I hope any soxtalkers in way are safe. The pictures of Houston this morning look impossible.
  10. QUOTE (Quin @ Aug 26, 2017 -> 12:23 PM) Nicky... c'mon son. Maybe the league just didn't prepare for him? Sounds like with that Kevan Smith story maybe there was some league approval stuff.. I don't know.
  11. Probably stay where he's at for the playoffs. Probably kannapolis I'd imagine.
  12. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Aug 25, 2017 -> 06:51 PM) hey football is almost here It is here now.
  13. I don't mind if Glennon starts a few weeks but I expect Trubisky to play at least 8 games this year.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 10, 2017 -> 12:19 PM) It wasn't that long ago that you rarely saw someone wearing a jersey in the stands. Now they all have the regular, the alternate, the Sunday, the Mother's Day, the Father's Day, the turn back the clock, the Memorial Day/Independence day, the All Star, the Players Choice...and that is just minimum. Too me, it's a bit much. But as long as I can tell who the players are, I'm not really bothered but money is the motivation. Think about how all the weekend themed uniforms and hats change every year. They are selling you something. If people want to buy it, great. I do get more irked when they seemingly wear their black alternates more than the regular uniforms. With you 100% on all of this. I was watching clips of Jimmy Piersall games when he passed, there isn't a jersey in the stands, people aren't wearing any white sox merch. Just regular clothes. People can wear what they want, I hope they have fun, but it's a bit much for me.

  16. 2-5 today with his 3rd home run. 4-13 with a single, double, triple and a home run since he's been back (3 games)
  17. edit: better reference above, thanks! twice edit: that seems to be rank of "roster effect" which I think is how impactful players are on the DL? third edit: my second edit I read it wrong!
  18. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 25, 2017 -> 02:30 PM) With Jones, Putnam, & Soto included? Yeah.
  19. Isn't BABIP typically higher in the minors?
  20. I would imagine the white sox time lost to the DL is not even top 10.
  21. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 25, 2017 -> 01:22 PM) Who the hell cares what McKinney does? Addison Russell was the prize in that trade and he helped them win a 'chip. This not aimed at you, mags. Yeah, I was just responding to this: 2: Billy McKinney -- not even in the majors?? People forget how young McKinney is since he has moved twice and hasn't played yet. He's a bit like Gio Gonzalez, probably not as good in majors.
  22. Billy McKinney just turned 23 two days ago and has been destroying AAA. I wouldn't really hold him not being in the majors yet against him.
  23. Josue Guerrerro was 4-4 with a double. Nice for him to get a good day before the season ends.
  24. They really ought to wear hats north of the wall to protect their ears. Frostbite is no joke.
