  1. Because of where the vote came from.
  2. Wellp, looks like quiet won't pull this off. The GOP playbook of just hiding, not taking responsibility for your actions and then hope people forget continues to be bullet proof Edit: quiet = Quist
  3. QUOTE (Lillian @ May 25, 2017 -> 06:54 PM) I watched the MLB "Gameday" for the last 3 innings Giolito pitched. It looked to me like the umpire was squeezing him pretty tightly on the strike zone. I saw an awful lot of pitches that were right on the lower and upper edge of the strike zone, which were called balls. Gameday for milb is kinda unreliable.
  4. Bizarre to me it's based off of injury. Very NHL like
  5. When someone like Posada gets knocked out 1st ballot i have a hard time seeing anyone other than Posey in, and honestly isn't that accurate? 3rd for me would be someone like McCann or Lucroy, but I couldn't vote for either if I was in BBWAA
  6. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ May 25, 2017 -> 02:19 PM) I'm with you. I keep thinking maybe he'd be like Curtis Granderson but he struck out about as much as he walked in college, albeit much lower competition.
  7. I really really really want to want Kendall, but in the future sox forum we found an article on strikeout rates in college and success correlationa nd he was in the tier beyond mark reynolds. I just don't know if he can do it.
  8. I would like that deal. Also getting intrigued by Wade. Not a 1/2 punch piece, but would be a great get on back end. Hitting really well now in AAA and has lots of positional versatility.
  9. I don't trust a sean spears (sp, don't care) rumor as far as I can throw it. Which is not far.

  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 25, 2017 -> 11:58 AM) Interesting that so much info, like the bomber's name and analysis of the bomb, has been leaked ahead of time by U.S. sources, which angered the UK. I don't know what that means, it doesn't seem like Trump administration idiocracy, seems to be the way the US handles it. Or is there something else going on I missed? The whole thing is very bizarre, tbh.
  12. QUOTE (heirdog @ May 25, 2017 -> 10:36 AM) Haha. I'm a bandwagon "friend" as well and notice that he posts a bolus of pics at a time. He likes to showcase his hitting, palm trees, and 6 pack abs...at least he's not posting every meal he eats w a "yumm" This is so true and also a hilarious description of a person.

  14. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 25, 2017 -> 10:16 AM) Last I checked, caulfield isn't a mod If he wants, I'm sure caulfield could give him a list of mods.
  15. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ May 25, 2017 -> 09:33 AM) No, it really doesn't and in my post I assume Lopez and Fulmer will be ready to step into the rotation by 2018. If one or both struggle, it will look even worse. I prefer to trade Q to help the rebuild along but Q's silent veteran leadership and experience could help the young guns so having him around still helps the rebuild. Yeah I also say it as people shouldn't freak out if we draft a pitcher in the first this year.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 25, 2017 -> 10:14 AM) The Houston offer that slipped out was pretty lackluster. If that was typical of what was offered, I take the risk of bringing back Q as well. I think I missed this, can you point me to it?
  17. Bleeding heart in me but I don't necessarily think he should go to jail if that's his first offense.
  18. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ May 25, 2017 -> 09:16 AM) Easy to say the Sox should have traded Q last winter but what exactly were the players offered for Q? We don't know, just the reported rumors and that's all. Hard to play hindsight without knowing what exactly has been passed up. Let's say the Sox hold onto Q. MiGo, Holland and Pelfrey will be gone and with any luck so will Covey. Giolito obviously needs more time so we're currently looking at a 2018 rotation of Q, Shields, Rodon, Lopez and Fulmer with Giolito as #6 on the depth chart. Given the struggles Giolito has had and that Kopech needs all of this season and the next to build up innings, having Q around for another year doesn't sound so bad. I won't complain if the Sox have Q in their rotation next year. Could end up a blessing. Also doesn't look like we have too much pitching does it.
  19. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 24, 2017 -> 06:47 PM) Next week. I ... may as well dive head first. But according to my instagram friend Luis Robert, he is still in DR.
  20. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 25, 2017 -> 09:12 AM) I'm sure we'll be hearing a lot from Constitutional Conservatives about this! The Trump Organization Says It's 'Not Practical' to Comply With the Emoluments Clause It's hard not to agree, it would be impossible to vet out. It's why it wouldn't be an issue if he actually put it at arms length, including not constantly using his own hotels for all travel.
  21. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 25, 2017 -> 09:13 AM) Bernie's refusal to accept that he simply lost the popular vote and pledged delegates has done so much lasting damage to the Democratic Party. It went from "the super delegates will ruin this for us!" to "Super delegates, vote for me!" I really don't think it will, but it is an ongoing thing that annoys me, so I feel free to ridicule.
  22. The new "runner takes the pot" fundraising is pretty innovative and a number of places doing them. Really smart stuff. DailyKos/MoveOn all stepped up out of the dust, swing left, dsa, flippable. All better bang for your buck then DCCC and DNC (because they aren't set up for the same things those places are)
  23. I have never donated to DNC or DCCC as I've never seen the point and they always give away s*** tons to seats that already get a lot of money. But they are important for recruiting candidates, less so for deciding who to fund to win.
  24. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 24, 2017 -> 09:50 PM) Well they better damn well vote it down. I mean you are talking about crippling 50 million Americans or more? That means 50 million homeless people coming up? Wow. The reason it freaks me out that they passed it without a score, is that they got a bunch of their 'moderates" to go along after the right of their party modified it to allow pre existing conditions and EHBs to be stripped. All in the name of getting something done. If that happened so easily in the house, it can happen in the senate. Because all it says is they don't care about the outcome, they care about action, and they care about getting 1 trillion for tax cuts for the rich.
