Sale and Quintana
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 01:22 PM) He does, but I only included the top 5 by the metric. He's 8th (2.8 fWAR, 5.1 RA9 WAR, 3.95 combined) behind Sanchez (3.6 fWAR, 4.5 RA9 WAR, 4.05 combined) and Porcello (3.7 fWAR, 4.6 RA9 WAR, 4.15 combined). Of course in reality he'll probably finish top 5. It seems like as long as you cross over 200 innings voters haven't punished people too much.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 11:33 AM) Trump confirms president will pay for wall. Two hours later, president says, I didn't say that. This is kind of what I expect. But, considering Trump's propensity to echo whatever the last person told him, it's also possible he has another "softening" and claims he was wrong, goes back and then finds out that is bad, then tells us there was no softening again. BUt both are preferable to something worse.

Sox in pursuit of Puig
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 12:48 PM) In all seriousness, moving Eaton out of right field at the moment would be one of the dumbest things you could possibly do. Depends, if your projected 2017 CF starter is JB Shuck.

Sale and Quintana
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 10:46 AM) I like to go with 50/50 WAR for the Cy Young, gives credit for both results on the field and for pitching well enough on the things you have the most control over. The contenders shake out this way: Quintana: 4.4 fWAR, 5.8 RA9 WAR (5.1) Sale: 4.4 fWAR, 5.2 RA9 WAR (4.8) Kluber: 4.5 fWAR, 4.7 RA9 WAR (4.6) Tanaka: 4.5 fWAR, 4.4 RA9 WAR (4.45) Verlander: 3.9 fWAR, 4.5 RA9 WAR (4.2) Does Hamels not qualify?

Yeah leading the league in ERA is cool. Fulmer is going to be tough to pass but I obviously Q pitched more innings.

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 09:50 AM) I feel like I would enjoy the show as well if I ever actually sat down and watched it. Just haven't found the time yet. The good news is you can skip the first season and not really miss a beat!

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 09:35 AM) I like it but I also kind of liked it as a stand alone. It was borderline perfect. I was going to say the same. I know they left it open but I didn't really need another season. Season 2s is how mr. robot turns into that.

YOU KNOW YOU PUT A LOTTA WORK INTO SPACING AND IT SHOULD BE RECOGNIZED "IP.BOARD"

QUOTE (shipps @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 08:07 AM) Just top ten? People are talking about it like it should be top one or two of the year. I mean it doesn't have a lot to beat.

So I really enjoy Halt and Catch Fire. I never watched season 1 but season 2 and start of 3 is an enjoyable show with good characters. It has next to no viewers but they are able to do it cheaply enough in atlanta.

You know, if the bears want to obscure public medical info, it's their right to push the limits of what they need to disclose. But I do worry that they start to believe it themselves. To play McPhee at the end of last year and give him a "knee scope" that takes him out 8 months now, after last year with White's sudden shut down, doesn't seem like their medical staff is making the correct calculations for players health.

The Anthem
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 30, 2016 -> 09:32 AM) It is also the absolute easiest way to get attention, which is why many through time have done it. NBA players wearing I Can't Breathe was much more effective as it allowed them to focus on their message where this quickly boiled down to "Why don't you support vets" and "Why don't you leave the country". The NBA protests also received plenty of attention. Just a less effective choice of protest in the modern media environment.

Carlos Rodon
He did have a start where he used 21 changeups. I think that is developing more than you are giving credit for.
