I’m a bit annoyed Rodriguez is in bham.
-
Literally all I care about is benintendi not batting third.
-
Damn Iguchi looks great. I can’t remember is he managing now?
-
I feel like today will be more annoying than exciting. Any top player signs will be like "why didn't we get him" and anyone that signs will be like "they overpayed" and both will be true? That said, I hope we get an out of nowhere top player (we have a lot of developmental secondary players, it'd be nice to get an established guy). The nice thing about DJ Moore is that was the one position there was no chance we'd be able to really solve in FA. Everywhere else we can at least land solid starters. Though actual starting pass rushing edges ...probably not.
-
I like edmunds but this is the reality of that position I’d rather get the deals in it and spend where there are non (OL, DL, WR)
-
These draft trades are pretty straight forward. Unless you value Moore as a third round pick or lower this is right in line with other trades. But so would tell you there is no chance in hell the giants wouldn’t have paid their #26 pick for DJ Moore this year.
-
That would be not desirable (though amazingly still an upgrade on the bears)
-
I think this is much preferable considering: - This wasn’t a great wideout draft unless you were looking for a slot receiver - the FA market for WR looks like it will continue to be dry - You have to make the 5th year option decision on fields by end of next year Hopkins, Evans may have been great this year, but they are on the precipice of age declines. Those can happen fast. I don’t think there is a better receiver than Moore coming available this offseason. And lastly, this weakens the panthers, which may lead to a much better first rounder next year. They have a great oline, but the skill players are rough for a rookie qb. If they go a raw qb like Richardson, we are talking about a darnold led team with less weapons.
-
It is when the QBs combine for only 3100 yards.
-
The point is Moores contract is not a penalty to any acquiring team. You aren’t getting a discount because of his contract which is incredibly team friendly.
-
Touchdowns eh.
-
Pff incredibly conservative on trading draft picks but STILL
-
Holy smokes sometimes soxtalk poster Aaron leming posted this excellent article on what bears could expect that basically NAILED this: https://247sports.com/nfl/chicago-bears/ContentGallery/Establishing-a-realistic-baseline-of-trade-down-scenario-for-the-Chicago-Bears--203281615/Amp/ check scenario 1 under panthers

I guess the football knowers are here but I don’t know I’ve always thought DJ Moore was great, but he has been in shitty offenses with awful QBs, not much different production than AJ Brown had in Tn
-
Moore is already on his contract. He’s got 3 more years on a good deal. He was signed to an extension last year. Moore is really good, he’s somehow had worse QBs than the Bears.
-
Ah man my only sadness is that it’s over
-
Let’s gokkkoooookkkokkk
-
Isn't that still the medical teams fault?
-
what can you even say at this point? But at very least it has been a decade of extremely shitty medical situations that bulls continuously throw up their hands.
-
but I will anyway...people complain about the length of college football games a LOT.
-
There are so many reasons why the football stuff is such a bad comparison I don't even know which one to pick.
-
I agree. I think bears are interested and the thought wil lbe "you can't teach just being a giant human who has already shown they know how to use hands"
-
This draft class is so loaded at RB too
-
I honestly don't have time that's why you all had to read that scribe which I could do in 5 minutes rather than hours of him yelling at me and then probably finding my phone and yelling at me.

I'm gonna do the thing where I create a man from straw by condensing thousands of individual peoples opinions into one I like to shoot down, so I know I'm just annoyed on line but The orlando brown stuff is annoying me. Greg Gabriel in typical condescending fashion talks about how stupid fans are for wanting Orlando Brown because he's not a scheme fit. So team scheme fit has circled two names - mcglinchey and mcgary, with McGary the new OT du jour. I'm not opposed per se. But the thing with McGary is the falcons had more run sets than the Bears did last year. They protected their OTs in pass sets as much as the bears did. So what you see with McGary is an OT that is an exceptional run tackle but an ok pass pro guy, improved but not great. He's like Braxton jones at RT. Except we hope Jones gets better while McGary is now 28. Was what we didn't like about Larry Borom that he wasn't good enough at run blocking? PFF grades pass blocking at equal to McGary. Now McGlinchey has the same problem, it's just that he was not in an offense that was protecting their tackles as much. So we know he can provide adequate pass blocking when they aren't doing so much to protect him. But those are bears scheme fits. And apparently this group sees the chicago bears as prioritizing the run heavy stuff they did last year and not trying to normalize that a bit with being able to pass on non-obvious downs. But I feel like the same group also wants the bears to improve passing. If you only want the bears to do what they did last year with an even better run blocking RT...Kaleb McGary is for you. No Jawaan Taylor is the inverse. He is young and I haven't not heard he's a scheme fit. He was great at Pass Pro but bad at running. The Jags passed a lot, and he was good at it. I'd much rather try that out. But then you have Brown, who also was in an offense that passed a lot, and opponents tried to stop the pass, and they could not get around his massive arms. Apparently we don't need that because we need to run. The smart people know we just need to focus exclusively on optimizing the bears run, put all pass improvements on Justin. I hate it.
