  1. Yes, I just hate going into the draft with a positional need set in stone for first pick. Esp when corner may be the impact pick. Really hoping it ends up being something like we acquire tunsil as Houston goes for their new LT at 12 and avoids the big payday on LT.
  2. So I am obviously a big play our guys to see what they have so we don't have to pay 16 mil for leurys kinda guy, but was also a supporter of signing alberto... and given the stolen base rules, I feel like he'll be a good piece to take advantage. Hopefully we get a hot two months or so and can help us get some more budget for a real acquisition.
  3. I actually thought 3rd rounder was a pretty good get for Raiders, but reality is there just is no receiver upgrades to be made for Giants. The draft is full of really nice slot guys which isn't really their need, or pretty big projects. Feels like this was one of the bigger playmakers they could get.
  4. I mean, I really did not want to go into the draft basically knowing we had to use first round pick on something. 2nd round tackles always seem to go wrong or end up guards, and then you have to be super confident about hitting on a 3rd or later round tackle. Not my favorite idea. Maybe you try for a comeback year for donovan smith.
  5. ugh, poor jets. I can't imagine if he rug pulls them and they are standing there with nathaniel hackett as OC, cutting promising young receivers for randall cobb, and then going back to zach wilson like heyyy
  6. So my assumption for Tunsil was KC may have been floating their first (as they did for Orlando Brown way back when). Similar in some ways, but Brown was coming on a 3rd rounder contract whereas Tunsil is on a full deal and looking to become highest paid LT. But their pick this year is around 600 points on the JJ chart. Bears could offer the baltimore 2nd rounder this year and 2nd rounder next year and that's around 640 points of value. I would do that, but can't say I'd do any more since he will be a huge cost.
  7. I'd have been happy for the 1.5 years, taken the draft pick. But now we have Hahn probably saying "TA would you mind moving for our scrap heap signing of Elvis Andrus?!?!"
  8. This was nice and happy tim has happy thoughts around him again. But being myself, all I could think of is how it confirmed my previous arguments that sox should have jumped, leapt, lurched forward at the chance to acquire trea turner when he was suddenly available from the nationals ?
  9. Bears discourse turns out is exhausting. This is not my dream free agency, largely due to dline. But you walk back and really who I wanted was Payne. And Hargrave would have been excellent, but hard not to notice he may have chosen a perennial nfc top seed. The right tackle stuff is hard. The reality is I want an upgrade, but all of us admitted none of these dudes were really that exciting. And that’s a difficult choice knowing you could get a cheaper, possibly better player in draft (I still think brown is the guy worth going after, and if you get him to be a RT that’s a home run). With the linebackers you at least understand what they are doing. Unlike with maybe the 3Ts and RTs, these guys likely graded as long term starters. They now have 2 good levels in S and LB (hopefully). But yeah unfortunately it’s facing up to fact that going from worst to first is hard, especially for bears who weren’t collecting 1st round talent via the draft for a few years prior. Need a great, great draft.
  10. All the edge signings are gonna be weird since pretty much all were situational guys. Will be more full time for us since our edges were historically bad.
  11. Daaang. one rando signing I’d like to see is if we can catch the lightning in a bottle with irv smith at Te and he suddenly stops getting season ending injuries.
  12. If having Roquan led to just one more win then trading him away was one of the best moves in team history.
  13. I feel like we won't know this for sure until the league season officially starts and the contracts poor in.
  14. i am reading apoplectic bears fans I wish I could read something else. I was hoping we'd get this guy in phase 2. Looks like anyone whose shown some pressure ability is gonna find a team.
  15. He was the athletics 37th rated best fa this year, and second best guard behind Seumalo. Obviously, market picked Powers with a much higher deal (and i loved his pass blocking, probably why payton wanted him) PFF had him at 70 last year with pretty equal pass blocking and run blocking. PFF had dalton risner (broncos) along with seumalo ahead of him. not sure on powers, can't remember and its been down on and off all day.
  16. I have a hard time with these but I feel like solid starter is what his rep is? I feel like the reputation of that titans line swung around a lot and not sure how much was just injuries.
  17. i will be wrong as usual but at this point I'd assume we are going to fill Tackle in draft. I'd hope we get Jones or Allen on D line though before filling in edges.
  18. Ian Rapaport reporting that he's heard nothing that a deal is done so...it continues.
  19. I'm sure packers fans will miss one of the greatest qbs of all time but not sure he could have done more to make it a relief to them that it's over.
  20. Could be. I like Charlotte's coaching staff more though.
