Your new Supreme Court nominee is....
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 08:22 PM) Unfortunately the main criticism I've seen of him from the left is his record on civil liberties and criminal justice. But he's replacing Scalia, still amazing progress instead of that crap.

Adam LaRoche retires
This seems like one of those situations to me where at first it's like, just one person to finally break it open: "Hey what a great kid, so nice seeing a kid around a kids game" "Hey cool, great kid" "Kid is our mascot! Totally great kid" "Isn't it kind of annoying having a kid around every day we are at work?" "OH GOD I THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY, IT DRIVES ME NUTS"

2016 Republican Thread
And then to blame all of the white mans problems on minorities, and tell the rest of the world to shove off! Trump is a temper tantrum. Being the governor of a 330 million person diverse nation is hard, being governor of the most influential country in the world is harder and more important. You want to change those things, you work on getting a bunch of house/senate/pres candidates that offer to change consitution to prevent that money influence. Removing the leadership doesn't remove their influence, they'll just fund the next groups.

I would not like to pay much more than 14 million for basically a DH.

Oh my god I had no idea he was getting that much. I knew it was big but I thought it decreased.

Adam LaRoche retires
Yeah, honestly if KW was the only one with this problem after not establishing the rules ahead of spring training I look at this as an unneccessary distraction worse than a kid being there everyday.

I have a revolutionary idea: Bring your kid to work days

I'm fine with what Dick is saying, but we have to keep in mind that there are a TON of new ballplayers. If some of them express difficulty doing their actual jobs with a kid there the whole time, Sox have the right to bring it up and try and find a medium.

I don't necessarily blame the Republicans except that they are saying they won't nominate ANYONE by this president vs just doing what everyone would expect and hear and decline the nomination of individuals. The lifetime appointment makes these far too crucial, but elections matter. The 30 year period where republicans owned the presidency for all but 10 years swung the court in a more conservative direction after the 30 years before that that swung it in a more liberal one. Thems the breaks.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 08:03 AM) She's a Preckwinkle puppet, but Alvarez needed to go. Policies matter more than people. Getting a fresh prosecutor with less experience is not a surprising choice after previous experienced attorney accused of not doing her job for fear of upsetting depts she relied on.

Seemed like he'd be the compromise choice. Surprised its him out of the bad. Though "Chief Justice of DC Court" is pretty tough to argue against in terms of qualifications. Obviously, it's not about qualifications, but better to get that argument out in open.

Agree with Uglesias that Sanders voters should be encouraged by Foxx win. Their coordination can wield a lot of power in down ballot races.

Delegate Math and the GOP
Pols whom voters have lower information about typically poll better in fake national races. It's kind of why those polls are meaningless.
