  1. You are going to play in close games in the NFL, even bad teams are similar in talent to good teams. And in close games you will see it shake out 50/50. You want the bears to be playing in close games, because if they are getting blown out every week even by bad teams that means even the core you identified sucks. That's a worse position to be in. Now, if going into the final week we are 6-9 and the draft position can swing 5 spots or so with a win, I will not be happy if we win. But we aren't there yet, and Leno/Grasu improving, Goldman/Sutton/Ferguson staying on field hopefully, and Amos playing is really really good longterm. Leno really looks like he is at least a 2 deep LT. That's excellent from a 7th round pick.
  2. Um, no. I do not think longterm we are better off if our last two draft classes are irredeemable just so that we have a chance at 1 dynamic player. Beating bad teams is the first step to beating good teams. We just beat a team with 1/3 of our offensive line missing, a hobbled QB, 3 of our top receivers out, our starting safety, our starting ILB and starting rookies all over the place. That is what getting better looks like.
  3. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 07:29 AM) I can't wait until Andy Reid is gone from the team. There is way too much talent on that roster to look so putrid game in, game out. The game has passed him by, he needs to retire. And now with the Charles injury I pretty much hope they lose every game from here on out. I feel like this is going to be a pretty terrible crop of coaches this year available. League seems to be really down this year.
  4. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Oct 11, 2015 -> 10:12 PM) Would you rather they finish with a top 3 pick or to see guys like Ferguson, Sutton, Goldman, Amos, Grasu, McPhee, and Wilson improve week by week? Give me the latter. If Goldman and Amos continue to play well along with Grasu, I trust Pace can find another good player at 15 just as he could at 3. Right. Especially since the bears were lacking playmakers especially on defense, where I feel like you can find top talent in the 10-15 range anyway. Unlikely to get that generational pass rusher, but usually find some cornerbacks/safeties/lbs. I mostly wanted to suck hard when it looked like we were too devoid of talent to make it up with scheme. We are starting to see the coaches find the best 11 and luckily they have been our younger players.
  5. It's an interesting group as I think that's all of the pop culture writers. I'd imagine they may just bring lowe/keri/barnwell/mays into the espn insider umbrella soon.
  6. I wasn't sure he wanted to start up the same thing. But after his podcast went up and the talk with Wesley Morris I thought Grantland would be over soon. It was still pretty solid after he left.
  7. Sad to see grantland die. I loved a lot of their content.
  8. QUOTE (zenryan @ Oct 11, 2015 -> 05:24 PM) Anyone remember that time Jerry Jones tried to convince everyone how talented Weeden is? Lol He has been a great fill in
  9. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Oct 11, 2015 -> 03:32 PM) With the 15th pick in the draft the Bears select.............................. Yeah yeah... Discovering that young players we already have are actual contributors is as important as a high draft pick. We started how many rookies and won?
  10. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 11, 2015 -> 03:17 PM) Andy Reid is not a good football coach and Fox and his staff are. The Chiefs are never going to be good enough while they have a coach and QB as conservative as Reid and Smith are. Yeah watching it up close it is a brutal watch. Was he always THIS conservative?
  11. Amazing comeback by the Bears. Taking two late drives with Cameron Merideth and m wilson
  12. Cutler accuracy is horrible today
  13. I have 0 confidence we will clean up next year. That's rule breaking. Jerry would never.
  14. Well we didn't need positional talent anyway.
  15. Hard to tell with hawks how much you can judge from the regular season let alone 1 regular season game.
  16. You are all hero worshippers!!! Hero worship!
  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 7, 2015 -> 08:57 PM) It's game 1, guys. No kidding. Though I wrote off Richards last year in November so heyyy
  18. I'd like my friends to have a World Series. Also wouldn't mind Cubs losing.
  19. Interesting
  20. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Oct 7, 2015 -> 08:24 PM) Cole just shat himself tonight. That's terrible... Literally?
  21. That Schwarber home run and resulting screams made me yearn for playoff baseball I care about
  22. Sooooo this Fisher/Barnes stuff I love twitter and the NBA.
  23. Can't handle Kruk on this broadcast.
  24. If ND does get rid of Kelly because he isn't good enough, they should only do it if they have the next coach in mind and a good shot at them. Nubs firing Pellini was fine, but not having anyone better and getting Mike Riley is what makes change for the sake of change usually end up blowing up in your face.
