That was an awful pitch to swing at.

I could go for some #wildpitchoffense

God melky is the best.

That was brutal.

What are going to do when Rodon hits his innings?
-
No, I do not believe it anymore. I'm tired of the "oh and this hitter should have the perfect stroke for the cell". Maybe it worked for Thome, but it has helped 0 people beside that.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 02:46 PM) @Ken_Rosenthal: Tulo gone. CarGo likely next. And Arenado’s remarks to Denver Post make him even more unlikely for extension. Boras client, free after ’18. Would love to get Arenado when he's a free agent We have no chance, but man I'd love to watch that guy every day.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 03:35 PM) I'd be happy to give up Spencer Adams for CarGo, quite honestly. I realize he's still kind of a lottery ticket, but nothing about "aging, oft-injured outfielder from hitters park in NL" screams "This will work out for white sox!"

Blue Jays interested in Quintana or Samardjiza
bmags replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Yes, I think he's staying. If we do not re-sign him, I am a bit excited to see a draft with additional money and see how many lottery ticket high schoolers we could persuade with it. -

QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 02:42 PM) Or maybe you're biased? Why don't you suggest something original instead of telling everyone else they're wrong. What do people think of Stroman's injury? -
So, Xavier Sneed does not have Mizzou in top 5 after widely assumed him and tyler cook were really likely Mizzou targets. Missou ri has a lot of future NBA talent in the next 2 years, and Missouri likely to miss on all of them. It has continued to be a disaster reign for Kim Anderson. The "true son" hand-picked by the good ole boy boosters may singlehandedly destroy this program in to a Kansas Football like level.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 02:54 PM) Yup. Hope they keep it up. On a nice little run. Miley gives up a lot of BBs, so I hope our guys like Melky and Abreu take what comes to them

QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 02:35 PM) Do I have to have an opinion on everything I post? I was giving examples. If I broke off and gave opinions on everything and jumped subjects over each tandem brought up my posts would lack coherency. I try to keep my posts coherent. Especially interesting since the post as a whole didn't explicitly condemn the KW/Hahn differing philosophies, it just brought in examples of how typically duel executives are aligned.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 12:39 PM) Never praised Preller. Never brought up scandals or Nestor Molina. Never cited LaRussa/Stewart as "sabrematricians." Not sure how you found a way to include AJ Hinch. Good stuff though, caulfield.

QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 11:20 AM) Here's the problem. Really going back the only good move(But still up for discussion due to Garcia) is the Peavy trade. The moves he has been trying to make havent exactly worked out. Heck if Kenny wasnt here we might not of had Jose Abreu. That thought is scary. This is fair, Santiago for Eaton looks like a fair trade for both teams. The Youkilis trade was a nice trade as well.

Would dodgers want prospects for Puig? I would have guessed a cespedes/lester type deal.

QUOTE (oneofthemikes @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 10:55 AM) I'm not suggesting that it is impossible for them to beat any good teams. What I'm saying is that this team has been remarkably streaky all season long and for us to now, all of a sudden, decide that we can win 60+% of our games from here on out is irresponsible. This team, to this point in the season, has had a historically bad offense (The Impressively Poor White Sox Offense). I don't think that one impressive offensive weekend against bad teams should change the course of action for this team. I agree with you, however, in our previous streaks we had incredilbe pitching and just squeeked out 1 win victories. This streak we have been hitting. Melky has been hot for a month, but the bottom of our lineup has started driving them in.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 10:34 AM) Like this deal a lot for the Rockies. Reyes, at least by and large, plays (vs. Tulo) and while his contract is also expensive they got some good prospects (I love Hoffman's upside). I wonder if the Sox would like at Reyes. He's old and will be on the decline, but, he'd be an overall upgrade at shortstop and I presume the Rockies aren't interested in paying Reyes. Wonder if their could be a deal their that made sense without the Sox having to give up much (and potentially even getting some cash). Reyes is an absolute BUTCHER at SS at this point in his career. No thanks.

QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 10:39 AM) Looks like I missed quite a bit Biggest thing was bucket-of-suck came in and said sox have deals in place for smarj with TOR and SF but is being told to wait until boston series. He also said that there is infighting in FO and that "kw is in charge"

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 10:29 AM) Here's the other point --if you believe they're in it, then Shark still should go to bolster the roster with an additional bat. Don't forget the misery and embarrassment of this offense because of one week. That's my concern, here. Shark shouldn't even be here now, let alone at the deadline. He wont be a part of our future past this season, and if forsaking him for an everyday offensive player meant risking the remainder of this season with Johnson id accept it. I do think it has to be acknowledged that Saladino-Alexei-Sanchez has become a formidable defensive infield (last night withstanding).

QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 10:17 AM) You believe they would take it based on what? SD loves poor fielding OFers, it's true.
